It is good to get all the best Scottish youngsters.
Hickey and Turnbull would be great additions.

One suggests yes, the second no
The third that no bid has even been made. The fourth quotes the 1st as a mainstream source. Mind blown. Needs a shirt and a medical before he's ours.

I agree it would be brilliant to sign Turnbull and Hickey, but like The Duffy rumours - and what Phil says - we need the club to act swiftly (something we're not famous for) and unveil them at a press call and then we can all celebrate. Maybe we are waiting until after the important Ferencvaros game to make announcement?

Do we think Hickey would be ahead of Taylor or would it be Taylor's jersey? I think this would still be a very inexperienced left side but they would certainly be competition for each other.

I'm a bit fed up with the Duffy saga. I don't know what the hold ups are.
He's an okay player but he's not the defensive equivalent of Messi. He's only 3rd or 4th choice at Brighton for goodness sake and they're happy for him to leave. HH.

I read somewhere that Motherwell have paused negotiations until after there European game so won't be here till next week at the earliest.

Shane Duffy on flight to Glasgow? Turnbull deffinently comeing in today or next could be a cracking window this as long as wee keep Edouard for one more season.

Aye heard the same mate, hope it’s true 🍀🍀.

24 Aug 2020 11:59:54
After the Bolingoli nonsense, we could still do with a left wing back to compete with Taylor and then we would have a 'perfect window'.

Supposedly just landed from Heathrow. If we can hold on to Edouard yes, shaping up quite nicely. Would still prefer Eddie to sign an extension so we command a big fee in future.

24 Aug 2020 12:21:02
With these two in keeping our top stars and wee get a left back that would be one of the best windows I can remember tbh?

JT I'd happily watch Edouard leave for gratis if he stays and wins us 10iar.

24 Aug 2020 13:07:02
That would be the perfect window and a lb.

Kev you know PL would pass out if eddy left for zero even if we won the 10 and got to a Europa final

That won't happen.

Thought it was too good to be true.

24 Aug 2020 17:07:11
In principle Kevbhoy, I'd want as much as we can get, and that will mean signing an extension. In reality though, if we got say £30-40m you and I both know that wouldn't all be put back into the first team. Hypothetically, would I rather have ten in a row than a healthier bank balance? Absolutely. So maybe you're right. 🤷🏼‍♂️.

Preliminary qualifying round: €230,000
First qualifying round: €280,000
Second qualifying round: €380,000
Third qualifying round: €480,000
Base fee group stage: €15,250,000
Group match victory: €2,700,000
Group match draw: €900,000

So we sell eddy we earn receive 30m and massively weaken our team
€17m for getting to group stage plus extra if we draw or win any games in the group stage, we could earn say €20m for a season of champions league, without eddy we would struggle to qualify, so really you would have to take €20m off the sale price which means we would be virtually selling him for what we bought him for, he must stay this season.

25 Aug 2020 09:01:18
He must stay until we get in to UCL groups, sign a contract and sell him at christmas assuming we have a gap and good momentum domestically.

Looks like Aston Villa are preparing a bid for Edouard.

Standard structure for the reported £30 million deal. "Up front" offer of £25 million, with £2.5 million paid now and the rest of the £22.5 million paid over the 5-year contract being discussed. The other £5 million is made up of clauses and other payments. It's normal: Lyon are still paying for Dembélé!

"Up front" simply means that part of a fee not subject to clauses and isn't one lump sum, as in computer footie management games.

Villa are aware of the personal terms wanted by Edouard. That's being handled by the agent, so no illegal approach problems. Edouard wants a move to the EPL but Villa aren't his first choice.

I am assuming Celtic will want to add another £5 million to the deal but can't confirm that.

Celtic aren't in discussion with villa.

There's always complexities with these types of deals and I expect the main benefit to Celtic in selling to a club Villa's size will be the sell on percentage.

The amount of money that comes in at the moment however isn't really important if there is not a plan in place to use it to improve the team.

I can't really figure out who the club could sign to make the team better without him in it so it would be a massive blow to lose him in such an important season.

Honest mistake

You make a good point BUT it is a risk for eddy going there

He could go backwards with few chances, few goals and playing with a team on the back foot

If he does go to EPL, noting no interest from man utd spurs or chelsea or man city, it'll be to an arsenal or leocester with Everton a possibility also

I think he will go to France or Italy but keep an eye on leicester and Everton.

Apart from the money surely he's better than villa ad have thought a top y or 7 club at the very least . but not till next year.

24 Aug 2020 11:11:32
I don't see eddy going anywhere that he can't play European football, He comes alive in Europe.

I’m sure the only way Celtic would let both Dembele and KT go,
Was if the transfer money was paid in one full payment.

I think it's a good possibility if we are looking to or bring in another striker that Eddy is being sold or has another club to go to I hope not but who knows.

Apparently close to completing a 3m deal for David Turnbull. Providing he stays fit and is over the injury, would be a very good signing for us and most likely a replacement for rogic. We can't afford to miss out on him the same way we did with John mcginn.

Possibly going to be browns last season playing the majority of games so this looks like a long term replacement.

Good young prospect. Take it that's Soro Celtic career finished another 2 million wasted. Wonder who his agent is 🤔🤔🤔🤔.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Aug 2020 09:25:56
Soro hasn't even been given a start in a competitive match - after such a long settling-in period and may be another Eboue, Benyu, Bayo, Hendry, and Daft Boli etc who never quite 'fitted-in to the plans'?

24 Aug 2020 10:03:46
Soro to be fair is a different type of player than turnbull. soro plays in the brown roll, and is fighting with McGregor and ntcham also. turnbull I would imagine will fight it out with christie for a place, and will be a direct replacement for tam rogic.

According to Turnbull family its speculation.

24 Aug 2020 21:35:45
Soro looks a competent and capable midfielder, why hasn't he been given more game time?, Ntcham should be starting every game, why doesn't he?, If we sign Turnbull, how many games will he start?, or will he just interchange with Christie?, there is one answer to all these questions.
