Hi EDs don't know if u noticed or anyone mentioned after the game Wee PR looked as if he was limping a wee bit gave u heard anything?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - It looks like he was fine.}

08 Sep 2017 23:10:41
The wee man hasn't played much this season and was probably a bit stiff. BR came out after the game and said he had no injury worries after the game in view of Tuesday.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Sep 2017 00:41:30
That's good he had a great game again and it was interesting that him and Forrest played together the night Hamilton did not stand a chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Why don't you come on the live chats during games, Ricardo?}

09 Sep 2017 00:44:11

Who cares if we'll slipped up in Hamilton we where strolling it but if u think strolling it will come into our players heads on Tuesday get a fecking grip ok aye we shipped a dodgy goal so what it the league we played it's a different mind set for Tuesday and if any of think our invincibles ๐Ÿ’š will be of the mindset tonight get a grip we all know what's coming to paradise Bhoy and ghirls BUT, what if? That's the thing hail hail.

Too many shandies last nite?

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Sep 2017 22:24:28
Good 3 pts tonight lots of positives and aye there goal was disappointing but it's hardly going to have a bearing on Tuesday. We could be immaculate against PSG and lose but but we are in there with the big boys whilst three quarters of Scotland either wash there hair or watch bellenders. Most of the PSG players won't have experienced anything like CP on a euro night and after watching Luxembourg get a draw against France the other night anything can happen . keep the faith bhoys โ˜˜.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

09 Sep 2017 00:06:00
Look PSG aren't that good, they only think they are good, and as long as everyone else thinks they are good, and play accordingly, they will appear good, just look at the English players in the EPL, with all the hype they are world beaters but in all the major competition's England always fall short, why because they are not that good, but they think they are good, but they get shown up, when the opposition don't treat them as if they are anything special, that is the way we have to treat PSG, the only thing special about them is the money, on the field, it's dukla pumpherstom against armadale thistle, or any other eleven against eleven.

Agree1 Disagree4

08 Sep 2017 21:58:31
I know Gordon will take most of the flak for their goal but the marking from the corner has forced him into coming out for the punch and that's got to be a worry. We can't switch off like that against PSG on Tuesday.

{Ed007's Note - Quincy lmfao, oooft.}

08 Sep 2017 23:10:53
He deserves all the flak kev . it was terrible goalkeeping . he came early but then never fully committed himself to the clearance/ catch / punch or whatever else he was trying to do.

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Sep 2017 23:30:53
He deserves flak, yes, but no more than the defenders who all watched the guy breeze past them to nod home.

It's a team game.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Sep 2017 08:16:09
So if griff misses a penalty we blame Gordon as well๐Ÿ˜.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Sep 2017 10:00:50
I like Gordon as a reactive goalkeeper but he is pretty amateurish at the basics. He does not command the penalty area and prefers to stay inside the 6yrd box waiting on shots.
His feeble attempt at going for the ball resulted in the goal. Defenders were out of place, yes, but this was a high ball, Gordon was taller than most in the box and had the advantage of being able to use his outstretched arms and fists to clear.
He jumped (not leapt) in a half-scissor fashion and was nowhere near the ball height.
So, his fault? Absolutely. imo.

09 Sep 2017 12:15:47
We need a keeper. Bring back Artur.

09 Sep 2017 17:44:00

Have to say guys, when I watched the highlights this morning I did notice that wee touch by Broony and to be honest I did think to myself 'Ooooh Broony, that's a sneaky one'. lol HH.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Sep 2017 20:45:21
What a fantastic player Celtic have in Scott Sinclair. He was so unlucky to have his near post shot deflect to the far post but he was first to react and press home for his second and Celtic's third.

Looking excellent up to half time!
Like the look of the Edouard and Roberts is playing fantastically.
Trust Sally to focus on a negative.

08 Sep 2017 20:44:32
Gonna say an yous all can shoot me down! Broonys petulance and stupid arrogance is creeping back into his game . Needless fouls and silly actions / retaliation. It's going to cost us in a big game at a time where Brendan has us trying to fire on all cylinders and improve / take us to the next level.

Believable3 Unbelievable6

08 Sep 2017 21:17:58
Not a mention of the exiting, vibrant football were playing or how good Eddie , paddy, and sinky look . Just a negative post highlighting how broony had a wee niggle back after some very hard ( to put it mildly) tackles by the Hamilton players, is that what you watch Celtic for? Take a look at yourself man .

It was innocuous and finding fault tonight is a joke.

Celtic were a bit to watch tonight . The passing and link up play, wee paddy back, edoure (spelling) looks exciting and skillfull. Yes I picked up on the only negative . But will yous be saying this if he has a fly kick at someone in a big game and it costs us in the champions league or 3 spot to move on in the Europa? European players like a bit of play acting so this kind of behaviour will be highlighted more n will cost us!

Seen in an article today that the value of the club has rocketed by 50M in the last six months. 173M it is valued at now, over 100M more than two years ago. It's more than the rest of the country combined and is only going to increase. What will it be once the hotel, Celtic Way etc are finished. It could double again.

Much of this is down to Rodgers, he is paid a lot but it seems like pennies for what it has brought us.

And they think that "catching us" is just around the corner, a few good signings away. It's like us trying to catch Barcelona, and turning on every manager who fails. We're over the horizon for good now I think.

Believable8 Unbelievable2

08 Sep 2017 18:21:06
@Isleofgreen to be fair and balanced, I heard pedro has managed to add 50PENCE on to their value lol.

08 Sep 2017 18:53:56
Did he leave it as a tip after his world class breakfast Tim? To be fair that's 50% of what the club was bought for so it is an achievment.

08 Sep 2017 20:43:10
According to a report today, they tried to sign McCormack from Villa on deadline day (the same report says he's on ยฃ45K a week at the moment. ) but it went on to say that if they had signed him, they would be well in with a chance of winning the league! Even more laughably, they said the "deal" could be resurrected in January and that that could still make the difference. Jeeeeeezzzzzzuuuuuuzzzzz!

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Sep 2017 14:30:03
Just wanted to make a couple (or three) points.
I was talking to a couple of my die hard Tim pals and their attitude really surprised me, here is why.
Firstly they think we only need to turn up tonight to get the 3 points, but in my eyes, we all saw how tired team were against St Johnstone and instead of a rest most of the team have been playing hard international matches, add in some players being rested tonight and others short of match practice and then the plastic pitch, I think Hamilton will give us a difficult game, so we really need to approach game with correct attitude. Because say we draw tonight again and Aberdeen beat a poor Hearts team tomorrow we could be 4 points adrift and chasing them while trying to negotiate a difficult CL group.
This brings me on to the CL games, I do not know how prevalent there thinking is among Celtic fans, but they actually said to me "Bayern are not the same team as last year" and also "we will take maximum points from a poor Anderlecht"
Bayern's RESERVES would give us a hard game and Anderlecht are probably on a par with us, so there are no gimmes in this group.
My third point although not as big a worry is if we do drop points tonight, we know wee EBT mcCann will not let his team bust a gut tomorrow at ibrokes, thus guaranteeing sevco 3 easy points to boost their confidence.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

08 Sep 2017 14:50:17
There can be no slip ups tonight Timalloy i think we made a mistake playing the same team against St Johnstone after a difficult CL tie and travel the players needed a break and we have shown in previous games the guys who have come in are more than capable. Lots of guys on international duty 2 games in 4 days so let's get Ralston, Miller, Eduard, Benyu etc in. Surely Paddy is fit enough to start he hasn't had many 90 minutes but he won't be far off he would have had a good pre seasons training.

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Sep 2017 14:51:15
I've seen this "Not the same Bayern" talk and I only hope the team aren't so complacent. Only months ago they ripped Arsenal to shreds and now they've declined so much that it's practically a guaranteed 3 points at Parkhead? We could easily take an absolute doing of any of the teams in our group unless we're at our absolute best in every game.

Agree2 Disagree1

08 Sep 2017 14:56:07
Tim what planet are you on? McCann will put a team out to win tomorrow you can be sure of that. Celtic will win with plenty to spare tonight, there is no doubt about that. The team are not tired more like finding their rhythm. Have a cold beer and relax.

Agree5 Disagree1

08 Sep 2017 15:58:22
I'm like you Tim; if I have learned something following and supporting Celtic for over 5 decades - it's never get cocky or complacent, no matter who we are playing.
These international breaks are always a pest and you can look at it as inconvenient and tiring for some players, while others will have had time to rest and recover for tonight.
However, I am sure BR will take nothing for granted and hope he plays the strongest side available (plastic pitch considered) and he will remind them that we haven't won our last two games.

XI vs Hamilton

Gordon

Lustig
Ajer
Jozo
Tienrey

Brown
Ntcham
Armstrong

Roberts
Edouard
Sinclair.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I can't see Lustig and Simunovic starting tonight on that plastic pitch. I think our line-up will be more like this:

----------------Gordon--------
-Ralston----Ajer----Tierney----Miller---
---------Brown-----Armstrong---
-Roberts------Rogic------------Sinclair--
--------------Eduardo------

08 Sep 2017 12:05:39
My team would be

De Vries
Ralston Ajer Bitton Miller
Roberts Henderson Armstrong Sinclair
Macgregor
Dembele'

Let me explain do not risk players who looked tired or have have troble on Plastic truf. Let Roberts and Dembele' play as long as possible before being subbed

So Gordon, Lusnig and Simunovic no chance of injury

Tierney Brown, Ntcham and Forrest to get some rest as with Rogic as he travelled half way around the world

Armstrong who is coming into form as Captain and get some game time as with Macgregor. Edouard could come on for Dembele'

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Sep 2017 12:16:48
What's the issue with a plastic pitch? Hamilton players play on it every second week and don't have injury concerns. Why is it a concern for our players? Just asking.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - It's not just our players, any player playing on it increases their chances of injury especially if they have underlying conditions. Accies have had their fair share of injury problems caused by the pitch. In one match Mikey Devlin done his cruciate ligaments and Thistle midfielder Ryan Stevenson was stretchered off after his boot caught in the surface, then Devlin suffered the same injury again last year.
Simunovic has a long standing knee problem and Lustig has his hip problems, both of which can easily be aggravated by playing on plastic pitches.}

08 Sep 2017 12:48:04
Gordon Ralston Bitton Jozo Miller Ntcham McGregor Forrest Armstrong Sinclair Edourdo.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Sep 2017 13:17:35
Thing with plastic pitches are this even though they appear soft and grass like. The conditions on the body are similar to running or playing on concrete with exception to the falling side. Causes the same or similar effects on body and will encourage any underlying symptons, just done my left quad on plastic pitch Monday and have given it some rice.

Ed Rodgers is quoted earlier saying jozo needs games and he'll play tonight.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm just hoping it doesn't prove to be a stupid decision we end up regretting. There's absolutely no reason to take such a high risk against Accies and I wouldn't be surprised if he misses the PSG game, playing on plastic really jars your joints when you run on it and players have said they feel 100-years old after playing 90 mins on Accies pitch. Rodgers himself said last season:

"Itโ€™s a notorious surface for picking up lots of injuries. The only one I would consider not playing on the pitch is Simunovic. Apart from that, all the others will be fine. We play the game because we have to. We are professional."

Only last month he said this when talking about Simunovic:

"Heโ€™s not an injury concern but we have to monitor it especially when you look at playing Kilmarnock and Astana away on artificial pitches."

I don't imagine Simunovic will be too happy with Rodgers decision either.
BTW I'm not doubting you, Steph, or Tim on the other thread, but where did you see or hear Rodgers say he'd be playing?}

Joe mchugh on video celts. A agree it's daft but he didn't feature much if at all for Croatia n he maybe needs some game time before Tuesday.

{Ed007's Note - The big man's not Croatian anymore, he's switched to play for Bosnia but I know what you mean, he was on their bench and never got on.}

That'll be why he never played for Croatia over the weekend then๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.

Was chatting with some folk about John Kennedy and what might have been had he not got injured. Another name came up which I'm too young to have seen, George Connelly. Did anybody on here ever see him play? Apparently the similarities are there and he would have been a legend had it not been for personal issues.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Sep 2017 11:35:31
The first time I saw George Connelly, he was the 'HT entertainment' against Kiev Dynamo (I think? ) - juggling the ball non- stop around the stadium.
He was majestic on the ball and his close control and control seemed effortless and natural and I remember great personal performances against Rangers at Hamden in the 69 cup final (4-0) victory and in both legs of the EC semi finals against Leeds Utd in 1970 among others.
I was just a teenager then and i remember the early to mid seventies, when 'The Lions' were disbanded and George's career was mysteriously cut short and it was the first time as a young fan that I experienced uncertainty as a fan.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Sep 2017 11:49:04
Before my time but really enjoyed reading the book Lost Legend. It is one of my faves along with Dan Doyle and You can call me Stan. One of my uncles always said George Connelly was immense one of the best he has seen.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Sep 2017 11:49:39
I remember one game in particular the 4-0 Scottish Cup final against the old Rangers around 1969 I think. As usual the impartial Scottish press had the old club as favourites as Celtic were in "crisis" only 2 years after Lisbon .
Anyway Celtic blew them away and were 4-0 up at HALF TIME, Connelly scored the 4th goal taking the ball off John Greig then casually strolling round their keeper to pass ball into the net. That goal summed up the bhoy, calm and methodical with a lovely range of passing.
Sadly George suffered from depression and other mental illnesses which cut short what could have been a great career.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Sep 2017 11:59:47
Just went on to youtube to watch highlights of game and to make sure my memory was still working. My memory got it almost right only 3-0 halftime with Connelly getting the 3rd.
But some things never change just before full time with Celtic 4-0 up the old club's fans wanted a "wee run" onto the pitch to "congratulate" the Celtic players and game was held up until police restored some order.
Some things never change with the fans down Govan way.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Sep 2017 12:59:50
Think I remember him doing keepie uppie in the centre circle as the the half time entertainment, was a domestic game, before he broke into the first team, think George Connelly would have been bigger than Bechenbauer, if things had went right for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Sep 2017 13:39:11
George Connelly is my all time favourite player. He was Scotlands player of the year 1973. He rarely lost possession of the ball and his passing was controlled and accurate. Unfortunately the man was hampered by domestic problems and he walked away from football in the mid 70s never to return. I used to asked my grandad where George was but he or nobody else knew at the time. I was 10 years old and my idol disappeared.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - This PODCAST is really worth a listen for the older fans that remember Connelly playing and for us younger ones who don't. And as Stan says above Connelly's book, Celtic's Lost Legend, is a great read even if you're too young to remember those days.}

08 Sep 2017 15:49:04
I think people maybe exaggerate how good JK was. I never saw him being any better than the likes of Stephen McManus. As unlucky as he was with that injury, I think he's been extremely lucky to be part of this club as a coach. Fair play to him for this.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Sep 2017 23:21:11
I'm with you on that HT. I didn't see it. I though he was decent but not top quality. He did have a few great games for us though. It's difficult to say how his career would of went if he had been injury free. Age aside I rated other cbs ahead of him and I think his homegrown status carried him through a bit maybe. He must do a decent job in his current role as he has survived a few managers now, putting the "pity job offer" merchants in their place. Myself included admittedly.
