I see Davie Provan is slagging off Scott Brown. What is it with these ex players - like Walker and Nicholas as well - that they feel the need to have a go in the way they do? Brown has been fantastic for Celtic and Provan's comments reek of bitterness, but why?

30 pieces of silver Judas pricks.

Is there any truth in the split of tickets for league cup semis - Hibs / Us 50:50, while Motherwell Sevco is 20:80?
If it is true, how has this been allowed to happen?

Andy1969

1.) 26 Sep 2017 18:20:25
Wouldnt think its allowed mate, think its always been 50/ 50.

2.) 26 Sep 2017 18:30:51
This is the main chance of sucess/ trophy most other fans have a chance of seeing and i don't grudge them a fair split particular in the final as the likes of hibs hearts Aberdeen could sell that. the problem is the rest can't and don't . what I would do is give then half the oldco end and half of main stand first. if they then need more them give them the full oldco end then if the can sell it give them the full half share. but if authorities or other clubs get hard line about it I'd accept 50% and when they can't fill it tell them to ram it sideways and refuse to take anymore.

3.) 27 Sep 2017 07:20:05
Seems Motherwell only requested around 10 thousand tickets.

4.) 27 Sep 2017 08:53:24
This is the norm for a semi final with a club who cannot take their full allocation. Murderwell couldn't fill a bath never mind half of Hampden. What will be interesting to see though is what the cash split will be.

5.) 27 Sep 2017 20:02:37
I thought it had to be 50/50 as well Bhoywonder, but I read on one of the other sites that secco have been given 80%. If that's true it's a disgrace it happened at all and also so for Motherwell accepting it!

Apparently a fee of over £1 million has been agreed for Hayes with Christie going on loan for a season. I think that's a bad bit of business and also don't understand why, if those who sanction such moves are available, they haven't secured Armstrong on a new deal yet and also signed up Roberts. Surely we are not waiting for the VVD money to come through before pursuing the latter.

Andy1969

1.) 14 Jun 2017 16:57:10
Armstrong said his deal was put on hold till after the Scotland game
Who says we aren't negotiating for paddy right now?
What you want celtic to talk us through every step of every deal as it happens?
Has the transfer window even been open a week?
Do our top targets want to wait to see if we get champions league football?
We don't need major surgery so we should be taking our time and gEttington the right people
The people the gaffer wants.

2.) 14 Jun 2017 21:34:49
Even if Hayes turns out to be a revelation, which I doubt, Christie is already a far better, younger and more versatile player. Shaking my head in between scratching it over this one, will never make sense to me.

3.) 14 Jun 2017 21:28:53
Andy1969, spending over a million on squad players is a sign how far in front Celtic are give Brendan a chance the window has only opened and you are critical.

4.) 14 Jun 2017 21:48:22
Davie Rogers doesn't see Christie as a wide player and he ain't getting a game in the middle.
So isn't it better to send him to play evert week at the second best team in the country?

5.) 14 Jun 2017 22:08:42
Mandy Rodgers just doesn't fancy Christie and if he's not going to get a game in first team another year out on loan won't hurt him.

6.) 14 Jun 2017 22:18:58
When you stop being a patronising twat Kev, maybe you'll see that all I'm saying is I find it strange that they have time to sort this out yet not Armstrong, as yet, or Roberts, which in my opinion, are far more pressing.
I can't bear your likes - ones who are just happy with whatever happens and talk in such condescending ways to people who have a different opinion!

7.) 14 Jun 2017 22:37:59
Give the bhoy a chance, did he not have the most assists in Scotland last season?

8.) 14 Jun 2017 22:45:56
Andy, whatever Brendan wants the Board will do their best to secure it. Rodgers has earned the right to go for Hayes as he thinks he can do a job for him. The fact that you don't understand it means didly scot, in Brendan we should all trust. The offer is on the table for Armstrong and it's up to him to accept it or not, we will not be held to ransom by him after 1 good season plus the fact he was absolute garbage against England. The offer is there for Paddy too so he can take it or leave it. Hail Hail.

9.) 14 Jun 2017 22:50:32
Andy you are a typical panty wetter.
The most successful season in over 10 years has just finished
We are only 4 or 5 days into the transfer window and already your moaning.
Like I said ARMSTRONG stopped the contract negotiations till after Saturdays game. It's only Wednesday and your greeting he hasn't signed
Roberts has repeatedly said he was going to see what was happening at city before he made any decision.

10.) 14 Jun 2017 23:01:59
Kev - expressing an opinion makes someone a "pantywetter"? You're a bloody moron, and that being polite!
I'd like Armstrong to be tied up as soon as possible before some EPL team jump in. I'm inspired by the Hayes pursuit and actually think Christie is a better player anyway.
"Pantywetter"?

11.) 15 Jun 2017 06:21:19
I can see your point Kev but I do remember this year there since January being a few times where I thought we could have done with Christie but I suppose like you say, he would spend a lot of his time on the bench. Just hope we don't end up losing him and that it has been made clear that he is definitely in the long term plan. Wasn't all that fussed when he came in but the little I've seen of him in the hoops has been very impressive.

12.) 15 Jun 2017 09:57:33
If Christie was to stay at Celtic next season he would get as much game time as Henderson has just got this season. His development has stagnated as he has players in great form playing in his position. Same can be said about Christie.

Hayes is a vast improvement on GMS who had to play a handful of games last season. It could be late August before any Roberts deal is done. An injury to Sinclair or Forrest leaves us short of pace in the wide areas. The Hayes deal makes perfect sense and after an unbeaten treble people should do well to trust the manager a bit more!

13.) 15 Jun 2017 11:13:32
Agree completely Darylbhoy could not have put it better! Can't understand why people are losing it with Christie going on loan as I would have wanted that regardless of Hayes deal. Same applies with Ajer.

14.) 15 Jun 2017 12:48:48
a lot of talk about hayes not been good enough why not he fits br. s way of playing fast, strong, got an eye for goal, tracks back, is better than gms or jf, people going overboard about armstrong yes he had a very good season but it wasnt against the best if the game against better ops like last sat is anything to go by we should take our time no need to panic.

29 May 2017 09:12:04
Sorry to hound you like some obsessed stalker on this, Ed, but I just read that apparently Celtic and City have agreed a deal for Roberts and it's now up to him to decide if he wants to come back.
Do you know if there is any truth in this?
Thanks matey.

Andy1969

{Ed007's Note - I've said all along that the only stumbling block could be City's demands and it looks like they are happy for Roberts to move here permanently as long as there is a buy back clause in the deal.}

1.) 29 May 2017 14:57:13
Do you have any ballpark ideas of a price for the clause? Is it usually around the selling price?

{Ed007's Note - I don't buddy, sorry.}

26 May 2017 08:07:32
Ed - do you expect an announcement regarding Armstrong signing a new deal today, by way of a boost for tomorrow? I'm desperate for him to stay - I think he has been fabulous this season.
And also, in your opinion, does Man City releasing Navas seriously hamper our chances of signing Roberts permanently?
Thanks.

Andy1969

{Ed007's Note - I don't know about Armstrong's contract but somebody did post they heard it would be announced this week.
Navas leaving City will have no bearing on Roberts' future at City - they're signing Bernardo Silva and still have Raheem Sterling - because he doesn't have one. Roberts agent Galip Kilic intends to meet with Manchester City with the intentions of asking City to make the player available for transfer.}

1.) 26 May 2017 12:18:47
Are there rumours down south of any English teams wanting him Ed? I haven't heard of anybody being interested apart from us but obviously we'd struggle to match any EPL bids.

{Ed007's Note - I've not heard of any English teams showing interest, Kev. I was asking Ed001 and Ed002 the other day if they had heard anything about his situation and they don't know much either except that his time's up at City.}

2.) 26 May 2017 12:47:10
Thanks for the info.
That sounds quite positive regarding our chances of getting him then. fingers crossed!

{Ed007's Note - No probs, Andy. I'm quietly confident that Roberts will be a Celtic player next year. Even the way he's speaking about it himself and not ruling it out is a good sign I reckon.}

3.) 26 May 2017 22:07:42
Keep saying it but the signing of Roberts for me is a must, paddy as our new number 7 will be quality for us and will only improve as well as seeing his value soar. Absolute no brainer of a signing, 6-8 million is a steal for that type of quality.
Here we go 10 in a row.

I really wish these clowns who know absolutely nothing about Scottish football would just keep their mouths shut instead of spouting preconceived, patronising BS. The latest moron to throw in his two pennies' worth is renowned idiot Garth Crooks - apparently we, as Celtic fans, should be grateful that Rodgers "re-established us as the dominant force in Scotland". Why not just wear a badge saying "I haven't got a clue what I'm talking about? " Or better still, say nothing at all?

On a different note, Happy Birthday King Kenny - my all time professional footballing hero, and imo, greatest player ever.

Andy1969

1.) 04 Mar 2019 09:12:08
That the same King kenny that took their silver?

2.) 04 Mar 2019 09:29:16
Seems the right choice looking back on it Campsie.

3.) 04 Mar 2019 09:32:29
Campsie Bhoy what silver mate?

4.) 04 Mar 2019 13:08:22
He worked as a scout for that shower of orcs “international scout” was his title. Don’t care how good he was I have no time for anyone associated with them.

{Ed007's Note - It really gets my goat up when I see the words "Celtic legend Kenny Dalglish" 🤬🤬🤬🤬 Surely you can only be a legend at one club and for Dalglish that's go to be Liverpool?}

5.) 04 Mar 2019 14:22:45
Why? He was at Celtic for ten years. How long do you have to be at a club to be considered a legend?

{Ed007's Note - He was at Celtic for 9 years and over the first 3 of those he played 10 games, he then went to Liverpool playing for 10 years (13 if you include his time as player-manager) and winning European Cups etc, he then went on to manage them and was sadly their manager during Hillsborough and it's subsequent fallout.
Are you seriously putting Dalglish in the same bracket as guys like John Thomson, McGrory, Jinky, McNeill (and all the Lisbon Lions) Jock Stein, Davie Hay, Tommy Burns, Paul McStay, or Larsson and the Seville UEFA Cup team........ so if Dalglish was to get a statue would it be at Celtic Park or Anfield?
A great player for us but a legend? Nah no chance - and he also came back and brought John Barnes in as our head coach!!!
Maybe it's an age thing and because I never seen Dalglish play for us, when I was growing up he was Mr Liverpool and I just never took to him, but could you see any of those guys I listed going to work for Rangers?}

6.) 04 Mar 2019 16:38:03
Exactumundo Ed he’s a Judas in my eyes.

If Rodgers leaves at this time in the season, with everything that is at stake, is lose any respect for him. To leave for a team like Leicester would make matters even worse - if it is the case, it would appear that he has used the club and fed the fans a complete load of tosh.
If he does go, I hope he is replaced by Clarke or Lennon.

Andy1969

1.) 26 Feb 2019 10:08:48
Dynamite to his legacy! No loyalty in football.

2.) 26 Feb 2019 10:23:50
I can understand managers leaving of their own accord, for better opportunities or when they have taken a club as far as they can?
None of these apply - do they?
Just goes to show there'a stuff that goes on behind closed doors at a football club - and inside managers heads for that matter?
Maybe it's a 'bluff' by BR to show he could go at any time if Celtic don't back him properly in the summer?

21 Feb 2019 19:26:24
Hayes has played ok tonight, but I cannot wait for Tierney to be back. His influence can never be underestimated. I genuinely believe if he had been fit it would have been a different game altogether. Even after the first leg.

Andy1969

1.) 21 Feb 2019 19:49:09
Thought hayes had a great game and worked his socks off Burke has a lot to learn when on the ball and for a former midfielder ajers finishing is terrible the ref done us tonight no doubt about it but overall the whole team played well broony and McGregor were outstanding.

2.) 21 Feb 2019 20:04:43
Hayes has been solid in recent weeks and looks to be playing with a passion others have lacked at times this season. Even if Tierney was at the top of his game he wouldn't have made a difference in the home game - the rest of the team didn't turn up.

3.) 21 Feb 2019 20:20:09
Johnny Hayes has probably played himself into the manager and supporters good-books recently and will avoid the axe poised over a good few heads in the summer.

4.) 21 Feb 2019 21:16:06
Thought Hayes was a lot better than ok tonight. I wonder if he could do it as a right back cos Toljan hasn’t been great in the last two games.

21 Feb 2019 18:35:16
How in the name of God was that a second yellow?

Andy1969

1.) 21 Feb 2019 18:40:15
Because that ref is a complete tool.

2.) 21 Feb 2019 18:46:05
Started so well too. Never a foul never mind a yellow 😐.

3.) 21 Feb 2019 18:53:22
Absolute joke never 2 yellows appalling decision.

4.) 21 Feb 2019 18:54:14
Got to disagree with Hartson and McDonald never a booking.

5.) 21 Feb 2019 18:59:04
Is the ref Scottish 😂😂😂😂.

6.) 21 Feb 2019 19:40:41
It was accidental, Toljan didn't even know the Valencia player was there. Surely the ref could have just gave a free kick to Valencia.

7.) 22 Feb 2019 09:58:47
With regards to Toljan’s two yellow cards thought they were on the soft side, Brown wins the ball and has his jersey pulled foul no card, Forrest lobs the Valencia player and is taken out foul no card, Edouard skins the player on the edge of the box and fouled from behind no card, for whatever reason we never seem to get any breaks from officials In Europe, not using that as an excuse the tie was finished last week just an observation. oldkilly.

06 Feb 2019 22:31:10
The tackle on Izzy not being a red was atrocious.
Over the game, Brown was magnificent but I remember McGregor giving the ball away once and thought I had a problem with my sight - he was absolutely fantastic! And has been for God knows how. What a player.

Andy1969

1.) 07 Feb 2019 10:56:32
He is our new Paul McStay. Great engine. Great Technical Ability. Great Passer. Great Shooter. Great Reader of the Game. Great at Dictating Tempo.

He has it all.

And a recent poll stated that 81% of Celtic fans would snap Porto's arm off for £14 million for Ntcham, so does that invalidate your opinion?

I don't need to. Brown was, in my opinion, far better on the day. Yes Ntcham played well that day, but that was the last time I've even seen earn pass marks. £14 million for him would be better than any other deal in which we've taken big money.
