Ok so we know the daily record is a sh@t paper but how do they come up with their stories? Today it is that moussa Dembele is worth £40 million! We if it's true sell him now and take the money. The boy is good. One of the most promising at Celtic in years but £40 million? And Real Madrid will sign him and loan him back to us! Lazy journalists desperate to sell papers I think.

1.) 30 Oct 2016 15:19:47
Must admit Edg totally agree with you. Let's be real here 40 million what a load of nonsense. Dembele is some player but considering a club like real madrid are sniffing around Pablo Dybala for the summer 2018 transfer window it puts things into perspective. Let the lad mature and develop here and as for Chelsea anyone else remember the last time they came in for a youngster from here? If someone offered 10 mill at the end of the season for a player that cost 500k you'd bite the hand. Simple as Scottish football cannot demand such a figure. Load of nonsense.

2.) 30 Oct 2016 17:12:04
@Edg and jb84 BOTH OF YOU are talking nonsense. Ok £40m seems pie in the sky but if Moussa keeps developing AND scoring goals in the Champions League then Celtic have at least a £15m -£20m player on their books. Celtic hold all the aces here.
I hope we Celtic fans can enjoy Dembele for at least the next 2 seasons but if not sell to the highest bidder and reinvest cash in the team.
Here is another idea, if say Real Madrid want him, sell him but as part of deal sign one of their up and coming players, so Celtic get £20m AND a promising player.

3.) 30 Oct 2016 17:25:33
Agree that he is not worth £40m but definitely don't agree about biting the hand off for £10m. When you look at strikers out there who cost far more and couldn't lace Mousa's boots and add to the fact he is only turned 20 then I'd be looking for £20m. You said Scottish football dictates we can't get more than £10 but we have already done that with Forster, Van Dijk and Wanyams so that comment makes no sense. Also, as a striker, they always demand a premium and also the Premiership has much more money nowadays. If they are paying £15m down there for Ross McCormack and Jonathan Kodjia then they should be paying £20m+ for Moussa. He is better and much younger than both. That said, I want to keep him for as long as possible as we are building a quality team just now.

4.) 31 Oct 2016 06:43:57
He's already a £15m player, if he keeps developing £20m by the summer is not improbable.

5.) 01 Nov 2016 17:32:28
He is our player and he says he wants to be our player for years to come, quoting valuations and posting about him leaving isn't helpful .

I see Snodgrass might be looking for a new club. Worth a punt? I'd take him.

1.) 16 Aug 2017 18:08:12
Like him as a player but don't see where he'd fit in our team.

11 Aug 2017 19:33:31
Just listening to Chris Sutton on BT saying how this celtic team is not as good as the team that Beat Astana last year. What a load of rubbish. He then says that Celtic need to do everything they can to get Paddy Roberts in for the game. As the deadline has passed for the play off round it doesn't matter if we get him in before Wednesday as he cannot play. Sutton the expert?

{Ed007's Note - You can make a wildcard signing up until midnight of the day before the first leg, Tuesday for us.}

1.) 11 Aug 2017 19:42:48
Though I don't agree we are weaker you might want to get things right when slagging people aff Edg.

2.) 11 Aug 2017 19:45:09
When we played astana last year janko oconnel were in back 4.

3.) 11 Aug 2017 20:35:41
Good point Mally. I'm sure Efe was on the bench if not starting too.

4.) 11 Aug 2017 20:48:11
We are mentally the strongest we have been in years. We are only weaker because moussa and boyata are injured. Also when we played astana last year wasnt roberts injured anyway.

5.) 11 Aug 2017 21:31:05
line up from last home tie
Armstrong Substituted for K Touré at 61'
Roberts Substituted for Johansen at 31'
Forrest Substituted for Dembele at 75'

6.) 11 Aug 2017 21:34:19
And was moussa not playing second fiddle to griffiths and boyata not getting a look in?

7.) 11 Aug 2017 21:44:09
My only worry is only one CH and one CF going into such a big game.

8.) 11 Aug 2017 21:46:45
Guys we consistently play players out of position this season, that tells me that we don't have enough cover in the squad.

9.) 11 Aug 2017 21:49:54
Looked good for first 20 mins but Sinclaire has really gone backwards. We just picked too many poor passes. Bitton is never a centre half. Forrest can't open up defences, Hayes not what we need. If BR does not think we need another striker then I am lost for words. We don't play Griff in case he gets an injury and if he does pick up an injury what do we do? We need to buy a centre half and a striker and do it quick.

10.) 11 Aug 2017 23:27:59
No mate Roberts played.

11.) 11 Aug 2017 23:36:01
Apologies I didn't realise that an emergency signing could be made. Perhaps I will check and then double check my facts Kev before I give an opinion although you agree with me?

12.) 12 Aug 2017 10:16:21
Having to make emergency signings at all is a sign of bad, even worse, complacent planning. Everybody knew we needed a CB even if Boyata and Shev were fit. They a both bomb scares. Cover for FB after Izzy left. Replacing Roberts with Hayes, who was so out of his depth in Rosenberg, that it was easy to see why Aberdeen eff up every year. Armstrong saga dragging on and Ntcham hasn't found his killer forward pass yet. I think Armstrongs a better player and not playing Rogic astounds me. Hayes getting on before him is bewildering.

If we get through I hope lessons are learned. I doubt that very much though. I had great hopes our CL preparation would change. We were supposed to have things sorted to make qualification easier. That's what Rogers said. Well, it hasn't happened and we go into these games hoping we have a striker and a midfield player at CB.

That is just not good enough. We are praying Paddy comes back, we need him on Wednesday. Forrest and Hayes combined couldn't lace his boots.

RIP Tommy Gemmell.

22 Jan 2017 18:30:51
Doesn't matter what happens in 2017 anymore. Rod Stewart doing the Scottish cup draw after a few hours in hospitality is the best to ever 😂😂😂

1.) 22 Jan 2017 18:54:22
He was crackers I'll have a bit of what he was having

2.) 22 Jan 2017 19:14:28

3.) 22 Jan 2017 19:56:30

4.) 22 Jan 2017 20:45:02
Haha apparently he's in the kirkshaws club in Coatbridge havin a swally wae the locals. Bet he'd be some laugh.

5.) 22 Jan 2017 22:48:36
Ed will probably be there too as he's his biggest fan he can't get enough of Rod Stewart.

{Ed007's Note - It was my dad that warned me off him lol. The guy's a knob and his music's garbage. In fact, I hope his next shite's a hedgehog!

6.) 23 Jan 2017 00:34:11
Has spivey done his checks on those photos ed? 71,81,100%

{Ed007's Note - Is he still doing that? I gave up on it when he started that nonsense. I will say that in the pic with BFDJ he's the spitting image of Junior Burns that scored the winner against Rangers for Murderwell at Ibrox back in the 80s - or Woody from the Bay Shitty Rollers.}

7.) 23 Jan 2017 00:58:44
noel fielding and tattybogle can't be completely ruled out as puppet stand ins

{Ed007's Note - Ok, I'll take your word for it lol.}

8.) 23 Jan 2017 10:26:47
Seem to remember Sean Connery doing the same kinda thing (in reverse) . I had a 'wee green book' in the sixties and he was posing with the Lions, big jock and the Kelly's. Then when we were struggling, he was aw palsy walsy with David Murray and EBT Utd.

9.) 23 Jan 2017 01:19:10
Keep your friends close and all that der

10.) 23 Jan 2017 01:16:45
:) fair enough and I'm as interested in his tunes as he is siting out a full game.

13 Jan 2017 13:54:37
Ok so I don't like Davie Provan much. Great Player but not so good at being a pundit, however, I just read his article he wrote last week about BR and 10 in a row etc and find I agree with him. What is the obsession with 10 in a row and beating the record. Other clubs in the world have done more ( Rosenberg and A Latvian team ) and nobody in football cares. Would 10 in a row beat the 9 done by Big Jock? As provan says when Jock did it he won the European cup and got to semi finals as well so surely 10 in a row would still not be as great an achievement. I hink Provan is right and champions league last 16 or further should be the real target and 10 in a row is quite insignificant. Just my thoughts 😂

1.) 13 Jan 2017 14:22:13
At this moment in time we need to win the league to have a chance of getting into the CL. The more we win the league the better the chances of reaching the latter stages. If it so happen to take us 9,10,11,12 in a row, I for one will be a very happy Bhoy.

2.) 13 Jan 2017 14:27:16
Do we not need to win the league to get into the CL?

3.) 13 Jan 2017 14:29:44
I know what your saying, European progress is a top priority. But at home, to get 10 or more titles will give a generation of fans a generation of bragging rights, it sounds petty, but the feelgood factor of that achievement would last for years to come.

4.) 13 Jan 2017 15:11:38
He's right about Europe fed up telling sevconians that the 54 titles there old club won meant nothing In the wider world my god real Madrid have won 10 European cups now that's an achievement, but if we got the 10 the bragging rights would be off the radar. bring it on HH.

5.) 13 Jan 2017 15:20:39
I'm not saying it would be a better achievement, but as far as I'm concerned doing 10 in a row would be magic.

Rangers won a European trophy around the same time as we did (same year? ) and no one cares cause we did one better.
Right or wrong, dead or alive, cheating or not, Rangers won nine in a row, let's do ten and forget the pain of the 90's.

Charlie Nick said today that our titles don't merit anything without competition, but you can only play the teams in front of you. We (celtic) we're on our knees in the early 90's and no one seemed to care about 'competition'.

As I said 10 in a row will be one hell of a party for me.

Hail Hail

6.) 13 Jan 2017 15:35:03
last years celtic progress was to get into the champions league group stages. mission accomplished.

As soon as the draw was made, I knew tough group, hoped for eu fitba after Christmas but that was far fetched.

This years mission is to get into the champions league group stages (which includes good signings now, precontracts for summer, nailing down existing good players, shedding dead wood and of course winning the league - then the qualifiers)

We can't really talk progress as tough qualifiers and we could be back to square -1

7.) 13 Jan 2017 15:41:07
Celtic beating rangers is nothing to brag about, its expected as we are a better team, better position, better principals, no cheats etc.

Don't think we need to prove anything to rangers fans.

Now celtic beating Barca, what a night - qualifying for the next round with a game in hand, above man utd (thanks Naka, wee GS)

8.) 13 Jan 2017 15:55:15
The TIAR is a target set to overtake the nine consecutive titles accrued by ourselves and EBT Utd and will set a. Unique domestic record and bestow bragging rights as bhampot has mentioned.
Thanks to the current ranking system and unfair allocation of CL places, we have to continually win the title to even get into the qualifiers.
Fortunately, we have a manager who is starting to build a side capable of domestic dominance and progress in Europe for the foreseeable future - infinity and beyond lol.

9.) 13 Jan 2017 16:54:20
Digibanger-I know where you're coming from that beating the forces of darkness and evil is nothing to brag about. But we're only looking at a short window-the longer term view is quite amazing. 100 years ago they were the establishment and for a long time after it-until fairly recent times. Then us lot of pig ignorant uneducated immigrant bog trotters were formed to alleviate our own poverty because nobody else gave a feck and Scotland didn't want us. Yet we achieved the supposedly unachievable in 67 which they've never managed. And better than that-they are now on their arse-financially feckd-history-and no longer-THE PEOPLE. And they just can't handle it that the TIM is no longer keeping his head down and has moved on. So never let yourself get tired of whipping their arse brother 🍀

10.) 14 Jan 2017 00:17:30
the song is we're celtic supporters, not we are ragers haters.

just get a bit fed up with the same old seemingly small minded us and thyim.

would rather set my sights on the stars than looking back at them in the gutter.

Brendan95 you are right. He is linked with every job. That’s what happens when you are successful like Brendan is. The papers need to sell copies and Sky needs viewers. That’s why they say it so they get people to watch.

When a manager is successful he is always linked to other jobs. That’s how they move onwards. I would be worried if BR wasn’t getting linked with anywhere else. He is a top manager who could go to almost any club in Europe. He has said he’s going nowhere so how will linking him to other jobs unsettle anyone?

I think he might leave sooner rather than later. Maybe in 2 or 3 years. No matter how much you love a club the salary on offer from EPL teams is hard to turn down for anyone. Celtic unfortunately can’t compete with £100k + per week.

I was lucky to go to a real betis game last year. They were playing Valencia. I think it was musondas debut for them ( not sure ) . This boy was head and shoulders above anyone on the pitch. He was outstanding. I think ed already said it but this boy will go right to the top. He is better than Dembele and for us to get him is an incredible achievement from the board. He will run riot in Scotland.
