First time poster so go easy lol, any interest in Roberts full transfer after his loan spell?

Hopefully as we need a few flair players. Might have a decent chance given his stop start season?

I don't think you would find many fans who wouldn't be delighted with signing wee Paddy. That would make my day jorddy.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jan 2018 13:38:16
Paddy would be my preference ahead of anyone.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jan 2018 17:22:56
I hope so. I really do. Problem is he ran through man city's defence and scored. They didn't rate him enough to ban him starting against them.
Say his price tag is 7m. More fans/ scouts/ managers are aware of him after that. If he can nick a goal against a top 4 side for less than 10m and mabey do it regularly against the lower half or even championship if we are being honest.
10/ 20m is benchmark Muppet money there and he is a bargain.
100% heavy heart paddy won't be with us next season.

20 Jan 2018 21:03:17
Ossonde, £7m? Maybe somebody will pay that but we won't.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

21 Jan 2018 00:04:35
I disagree I can’t see how anyone would Pay £7m for Edouard. I’m not even sure he’s worth £1m at this stage.

Agree ice man, all be it tentatively. If his shooting boots are on the lad is dangerous. If we were solid across the mf and the back and could afford a top 2. Him and db could rough up any cl defence. Dreaming a bit here.

20 Jan 2018 20:09:23
Hard to be disappointed with a 5-0 drubbing but thought we were very slow in the build up and there wasn't any zip to the play. Def missing a playmaker. Lustig can't get up and down park now and unless we bring in reinforcements the Europa tie could be scary! Ntcham looks the part though.

20 Jan 2018 21:41:04
Dont want to sound negative or take anything away from the achievements our bhoys have done over the past 18 months.

But, Our play has been very slow in the build up for months, and with some teams in scotland learning that if they press us we can look very ordinary at times. There doesn't seem to be any quick counter attack plays made or tactical changes made mid way through game. BR sets the team out to play the way to fustrate and tire out other teams and it does produce results but we could be ripping teams apart with a bit of a faster build up and some decent service to front guys.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jan 2018 21:54:34
I was comparing our build up play to that of the Man City game. Both teams like to build up from the back but in our case we seem to make that one extra pass that seems to slow down our forward momentum.

I think its down to no rogic and callum being off of pace . i don't go to cup games so wasnt there today so can't really comment on todays performance but we have been lacking a constant mid attack since the summmer and its making our attacks pretty obvious as its usually down the left with sinclair . most people annoyed with sinclair as not hitting the class of last year but that's mostly cos of doubling up against and maybe something to do with personal life (wife and kid not being here) not sure about this . but he's still doing not too bad for some1thats meant to being playing rubbish. buying another mid player might not be on the priority list but with rogics constant injuries it maybe should be . up top dembele flew last year but he was never the finished article as he sometimes had a first touch like kenny miller and second was a tackle but a run of games got him it and that's all he needs imo . griffis is griffis and always pop in and out of form and the team . it goes right back to wolves time . he will come good . defence is the only problem i think really needs sorted . right back . lustic whom i love is ALMOST past it . he needs a rest and compitition id say . ajer needs time and boyata replaced . comper hope he's the 1 . jozo . well if u can't play 2 games in a week im sorry but your no good no matter how much patential u have . my only hope for him is that lustic used to always be injured so there is some at least . europe . we can dream but being realistic were europa and that's not a bad thing as plenty more financially better off clubs are exactly that . to end it . im 38 and can't think of 1 more year in my whole life were i thot we had problems while about to win 7 in a row and think were struggling cos were not 30 points clear by christmas . long live these bad times . hail hail.

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Jan 2018 13:17:50
I don't really see Calmac as a number 10 he was better last season joining the attack from midfield and scoring or threading passes. Although he is efficient at keeping the ball he isn't best utilized with his back mostly to goal. We do lack that creativity Rogic brings but even he he been off form and is injured too much. Here's hoping we can find a gem that'll finish the season strongly. Someone that can chip in with 10 goals and set more up in the process maybe wishful thinking but it is only the SPL.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Jan 2018 17:20:11
Lawman a know your only comparing our build up play, but they've got world class players in almost every attacking position, it's always going to look more sleek. We're operating in a different world.

So according to reports the three best players in Scotland today outwith Celtic were.

Scott Allan (Dundee)
Nadir Ciftci (Mwell)
Gary Mackay Steven (Aberdeen) and Ryan Christie got a double :-P.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

20 Jan 2018 18:41:51
That’s 4 🙂 is Morgan any better than Christie? When is Allan’s contract up? Ciftci never in a million years gms his confidence just drained away at parkhead at Dundee Utd and the sheep he tries things he attacks players he takes a risk never did that in the hoops?

I liked him too a typical wee tanner ball Scottish winger. We have lost our way with the squad dynamics but lucky we have a sizeable squad with the level of injuries we have? Apparently Brendan saying Moussa didn’t play down to not being right mentally due to speculation or with Moussa it seems like lack of speculation as he has been pish this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2018 18:54:09
I think Christie is the natural replacement of rogic. The clock must be ticking on rogics Celtic career because he can't stay fit and spends far to many games in the stand.

Wholeheartedly agree mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2018 19:10:36
Strikers need games. Moussa has not featured a lot all season. Injury put him back. If he got a run he would come good again but would maybe take 5 or 6 games. Agree he is going backwards right now. We could have an issue for the Zenit game. Griff injured edouard not the answer. So if dembele is going to be any use in Europa he needs game time. If he does go then we need to buy a proven goal scorer and that means breaking our transfer record. Now how much is Moussa worth? I rekon he would be sold for £15mill and a 25% sell on.

Agree1 Disagree1

20 Jan 2018 19:23:32
Be more than 15. Will be nothing under 20.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jan 2018 19:39:27
We will see Kev. Last season i would have agreed but i can't see a club going to £20m. We might not sell him for under that so if that's the case he stays and would need to rediscover form of last season because right now he don't look like a £20mill player. Walcott went to Everton for around that. Barclay to Chelsea for £15mill. Crouch to Chelsea for reported £10mill.

Agree0 Disagree1

20 Jan 2018 19:41:57
I think Christie will play for Celtic next season

In answer to the follow up both Ciftci and Allan have another year after this season but three of the four CAN'T play against us so that will do me for now as they hinder other teams around us

Morgan can play and skin a player and got a real good eye for goal can see the comparison to Christie and probably get sent out on loan again next season IMO.

Agree2 Disagree0

20 Jan 2018 20:53:03
Thought both looked good today Christie could do a job for us now and Morgan has ability just needs games and experience to be a bit more of an accomplished player. Unlucky not to. Score today but did get an assist.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jan 2018 02:59:06
I really don't see Christie as a wide player. Think to get the best out of him we should play him in the hole behind the striker.

Agree1 Disagree2

21 Jan 2018 09:10:00
Even if we sold the mousse for £20 million I very much doubt we would ever see or spend the funds on improving or squad so just as well keeping the guy.

I'd like to wish Everton's James McCarthy a speedy recovery after a horrendous leg break in today's game with WBA.

Not sure if it's rumours Pud. BR has said there has been 2 enquiries. Time to punt him if he can't get his head together to play against Brechin.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jan 2018 17:21:34
I think it's probably Rodgers not wanting to risk him if a sale is on the cards. Surely dembele would've wanted to play at least to have a chance to say cheerio.

Strong team out today. Gordon, Lustig, Ajer, Boyata, Tierney, Brown, Ntcham, Mcgregor, Sinclair, Forrest, Edouard. Devries, Simunovic, Bitton, Koussai, Miller, Johnston, Dermbele.

First time loaded with flu keeps my interest reading from all hoops. I want celtic like everybody invest but you got to look at boy Christie if you invest will he get a fresh start next season. Looks a player. What's everybodies opinion?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

20 Jan 2018 13:54:32
I feel he will always look a good player at any other SPL club. Today he looks a far better player than Morgan who has looked average at best.

Don’t think there is one player out with our squad that is capable of stepping up to the level we need.

Agree1 Disagree1

20 Jan 2018 14:02:24
Watching the Aberdeen v st mirren game would agree about Christie l really looks like he could be a good un have to say disappointed with Morgan know you can't judge on 1game but have to say GMS looks a better winger on today's display but no way will Morgan challenge Forrest, Sinclair, Hayes when fit or PR for awhile down the road in my eyes another project player for BR to work on, right nearly time for the real game.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2018 17:00:32
Christie will be a great player and play a big part next season in my opinion.

Agree1 Disagree1

20 Jan 2018 18:06:10
Christie over Armstrong all day long for me. Since SA signed his extension he's been woeful. Mabe he looks good in a aberdeen shirt but he will replace Armstrong's empty one!

Agree0 Disagree1

20 Jan 2018 19:20:02
Christie will never be a regular Celtic player . Brendan Rodgers would never have agreed a second loan spell to Aberdeen if he had any plans for him at Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2018 19:47:27
Chris i think we need to give him a run. I think we are too quick to bin players. They need game time. GMS at Aberdeen is playing great but he is getting game time every week. Everyone talks about the mentality to play for Celtic but the only way to get these players performing is to give them a run of 10 games from the off. Playing one week then on bench next does not work. We need to buy players ready to walk into first team and Christie looks to me if given a goid run he will do it.

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Jan 2018 11:38:14
If we want to be better in Europe I also don't see Christie being in that bracket. If we want to flatline then he could do a job, but I wouldn't be happy. No harm to the boy, he is a good player, but as I said, that depends on how ambitious we are to become a CL team. If we move up a notch I don't see him being able to perform at that level. This window will tell us wether he will be back I think.

Excellent comment by Chris Sutton. "Slagging Celtic for lack of signings is like blasting Chris Hoy for not being in the lead halfway through Olympic final. Let's judge Brendan on Feb 1"

Totally agree with that.

Ok. Break over and back to business. We have to lay down a marker quickly and sorry Brechin, it should be you.

I would imagine the players will know themselves things were not good enough prior to Dubai, they are not stupid. BR has came out and stated we are stronger and better than this time last year, i assume he is talking sharpness and tactically as on pitch we were very iffy to poor.

I also think we have to be realistic and factor in fatigue. The amount of games, and remember the high intensity of CL qualifiers and group games, were always going to take their toll on some. But the fact remains some smell blood since the hertz game.

Sevconia is awash with good tidings at the signings. er sorry pay day loan contract registration of some players. None of whom could get into their old club. being honest i have no worries about any, although cummings is a player i always liked and will do well, as we still have better. One thing to remember is sevco will not be dropping silly points anymore. We need to silence everyone with a roaring start. That begins v Brechin.

Well said Jedi I’ve tried stay off regarding the windows activities fact is yes for progression we need to strengthen but to beat the muppets in our league we are fine. Any player coming in needs to be an improvement and I wouldn’t take any that mob have. Quality not quantity. Mon the hoops.
