Apparently Liverpool have agreed to sign VVD for £75m. If that's the case then we are due circa £9m PL will be creaming himself .

1.) 27 Dec 2017 18:09:11
Mrs PL will get lucky the night haha.

2.) 27 Dec 2017 18:22:40
What percentage of the sell on fee do we get?

3.) 27 Dec 2017 18:50:09
15% of profit, so 15% of 63 million.

4.) 27 Dec 2017 19:02:52
10% is it not? So £7.5 million. Good to get the cash but a bit miffed that we under sold him in the 1st place. Good luck to him, great player, and sticks one up the odious and plastic Man City, who, if you believe reports, are the best team ever to play the game!

5.) 27 Dec 2017 18:11:35
Ed007, how much will Celtic get out of this deal? Monies owed to Celtic to be paid in a full one off payment?

{Ed007's Note - We're due 10% of Southampton's profit so it's about £5.9 million but I'm not 100% sure if the payment gets paid in full. I think it does - after all the contract with Southampton which includes the payment details will be over when he signs for Liverpool - but I'll check with Ed002.}

6.) 27 Dec 2017 21:17:49
CowaBunga00 : i think its 15% . so we take away the £12m we got for VVd which means about £9.45m great bit of business by Celtic.

7.) 27 Dec 2017 23:47:18
Well that will pay a few bills Ed007. Nice little lift for the boys, knowing PL it will have been factored in to his financial forecast for the year. Once just once it would be good for the support to get a player that is the finished article. I’m away to keep on dreaming.

{Ed007's Note - I've laid off Pedro for a while now. I always said he should stick to what he's good at and stop interfering in the football side, since he's done that I've really no complaints about him. With some people, not particularly you mate but fans who constantly snipe at him on forums and social media, they'll always find something to complain about.
Except for JP Taylor, Lawwell has the most thankless task at Celtic, but he is well paid for it and rightly so. Lawwell, not JP lol}

8.) 28 Dec 2017 00:55:47
Agree Ed007, he has a job to do and he does it well. The team are starting to click again. A good signing in this window would get the fans revved up for the second part of the season.

{Ed007's Note - Fingers crossed then.}

9.) 28 Dec 2017 09:18:58
£6m, £9m, doesn't matter really as we all know we won’t be spending anywhere near those amounts this window. I don’t expect any other business other than Compper. Even if Moussa goes. We rarely do anything in January.

10.) 29 Dec 2017 00:05:58
I am a supporter and the last thing I want is the finished article . I remember many finished article coming to Celtic and boy they were finished R Keane ( couldn't last 45 minutes without going to toilet ) . Gillespie and many more .
I hope Commper is the finished article, having developed his skill and ability fully& with another two or three years with the ability to demonstrate his finish article ability with us.

I think we should be all long past the time that we think we can afford to buy and pay the wages etc of a top class football who is just reaching or at his prime . That simply won't happen . May I suggest players who are really special will be under 22/ 23 when we buy them or over 30, or maybe we can take a gamble with an injury prone player.

ED : has "the bear" Roy Aitken just been made ambassador for the club, hope so and long overdue

{Ed007's Note - Yes mate it was announced this moring:

1.) 09 Aug 2017 17:34:50
Thx Ed : really good news, Roy welcome home
long long overdue
Feed The Bear

{Ed007's Note - Yep, great news, Peter.}

2.) 09 Aug 2017 18:13:54
My all time Celtic hero
Chuffed to bits with this.

3.) 09 Aug 2017 19:13:39
Always great to have people of his character and integrity around our club.
Welcome home big man.

4.) 11 Aug 2017 10:33:27
Do the ex players get paid for this or is it just an honorary post.

5.) 11 Aug 2017 13:21:17
Think they get paid as they do work on match days with the hospitality do they Not?

20 Jul 2017 16:56:46
Was speaking to a mate and was told that the new contract offer to Stuart Armstrong is £15k per week. Now I know that's a lot of money to the working person but in terms of players wages I think that's a low offer . We all know he will get nearly £50k per week in England, but I think he's is worth keeping.

1.) 20 Jul 2017 17:31:47
Surely Celtic can offer more than 15k a week?, if that's true its pretty poor.

2.) 20 Jul 2017 19:32:09
If the club are serious about their ambitions of being a team for CL last 16 and onwards then they need to start acting like it. If what you've heard is true then no wonder he's looking at his options. We can't realistically offer him what EPL clubs will but a technically excellent, intelligent 20 goal-a-season CM should be expecting much more than that. Like I said, that's IF your info is correct.

3.) 20 Jul 2017 19:34:17
No way will anybody know how much he is offered unless he knows the boy himself or his agent.

4.) 20 Jul 2017 20:00:23
Sure may be able to advise but I came across a red top which claims to show our wage structure for some players. Seemed a bit questionable at best.

5.) 20 Jul 2017 20:39:29
problem is lawwell and br probably recon they CAN get a young technically excellent, intelligent 20 goal-a-season CM for £15k pw, in fact we probably have a few in the youth set up on far less than that and also recent signing look good,

not saying I want him to go but just imagining what's going on in lawwells head.

6.) 20 Jul 2017 20:45:53
20 players moved out with upwards of 60 grand a week removed from the wage bill, I would be seriously annoyed if we lost him for the sake of an extra 5 grand a week.

7.) 20 Jul 2017 21:47:50
My mate tells me his mate told him his other mate, who hates the first mate, but, doesn't everybody? Anyway, he said that no way is Armstrong on £15k a week. And he should know because his mates, mates, best mate, who also hated that mate that everybody hates, told him it was gospel, from a mate, so it must be true.

8.) 21 Jul 2017 11:14:03
At any club, one of the top performers deserves to be one of the highest paid. It's as simple as that really. If there was somebody at work doing less than me, but coming out with more, I'd be pretty miffed and would probably look elsewhere. Ed007 said that he only wanted a two year deal, if that's the case just give him a two year deal and sell him next summer, should he wish to leave/ and extension can't be agreed.

{Ed007's Note - A 2 year extension it was which would have meant he had a 3 year contract.}

9.) 21 Jul 2017 13:12:11
If Armstrong went to Southampton and they paid £8mill for him he could expect £35k-£40k. Don't assume everyone is on £70k a week. Harry Kane at Spurs is on £80k, fact. He is one of Europe top strikers but Spurs don't pay big big wages. At Southampton, Bournemouth type club he won't get any more than £45k tops. If he goes as a free next season he will get more as no transfer fee. Best we will get would be £8mill. If he does not sign in next 2 weeks he has to go but not sure what interest there really is for him?

10.) 21 Jul 2017 13:46:46
Correct Johnnymac. Yes there are some players in the EPL on huge amounts, but the avaerage salary is not as high as a lot of people think i reckon (ie paddy roberts supposedly on 70k a week! Lol) . The average is actually around 45k a week i believe. Higher than our average, but not astranomical.

11.) 21 Jul 2017 14:07:47
I think that maybe BR had decided to let SA go last season in his mind and has recruited accordingly. The bonus of SA having a fantastic season has only increased his sell on value. If you really want a player you make sure you keep them and don't let things drag on. SA stated he wanted to stay and BR stated he wants to keep him. If this was the case deal would have been done by now imo. Maybe SA feels that he might not start as much this season down to new recruits as our midfield is our strongest area? I would like SA to stay as he is a terrific footballer and will only get better, if he goes I wish him well.

12.) 21 Jul 2017 21:47:37
Jesus, I thought we were more advanced to believe and discuss any particular offer Celtic have made to a particular player . I thought we all knew that Celtic, player and agent treat these things completely confidentially.

for those on the live chat today, this is Betty lol:

{Ed033's Note - Ooh Betty, the cat's done a woopsie on the carpet

1.) 08 Apr 2018 21:30:56
She must av won at the bingo . Was waiting for a baw to skelp her on the heed from Boyatas shot at goal🤣.

30 Jan 2018 18:35:03
By the look of the team we must be playing 352.

1.) 30 Jan 2018 19:08:06
Im baffled that Brendan's playing edouard and dembele together. When both dembele and Griffith's ( who are our best strikers by a mile) are both fit he very seldom plays them together.

2.) 30 Jan 2018 19:22:30
That is my guess to pB

Great minds 👍🍀.

3.) 30 Jan 2018 19:26:54
He is just changing the tactics tonight against the team who gave us a doing the last time with usual formation, hopefully it will work a treat n big Levin n daily will be spewing by the end of the evening!

4.) 30 Jan 2018 21:00:23
It's baffled hearts too!

5.) 30 Jan 2018 21:42:24
Doesn't baffle me. I think Griffiths does all his as a loan striker.

29 Jan 2018 18:58:12
HI Bhoys and Ghirls: a few questions/ thoughts.
1) Do we play Charlie Bhoy from the start Vs Hearts.
2) we know when the accounts are posted at the end of the year, does it state how much money we actually have Cash wise?

1.) 29 Jan 2018 20:11:26
I think he will be on the bench Peter. A bit like Sinclair in his first start against them. I will be happy if he has the same impact as Sinclair had on his debut and beyond.

04 Jan 2018 20:47:05
Ed : HOLD THE BUS: Tim must have all the "sunday Meet and greet" post removed from his total. after all they are not "post", more like the "Laugh In" at the Blue Bhoys lol.

{Ed007's Note - When post just attract abuse from morons it gets to a point they're best removed. We don't want to lower the tone to the level where the moron can't even address people with their posting name.}

01 Jan 2018 10:23:42

Thanks Ed: but that's still a long list, 6 -1st team players.

{Ed007's Note - I'm just saying you can't think about blaming training for some of them - Rodgers is stricter than RD when it comes to the sports science stuff.}

Well that's a list longer than the one with the players we are meant to be signing.

Is there something that BR and his team have changed in training?
Every player is meant to be getting fitter, however our Sickbay is getting busier than the Western Infirmary.

Gordon: LG: Rogic: Armstrong: Ralston: Hayes: Roberts: Compper:

{Ed007's Note - LG, Hayes and Roberts were all injured during games so that's nothing to do with the training. Rogic's spent more time injured than fit - that's FIVE years this month since he joined Celtic - and a hernia (Armstrong) can happen any time.
Compper's hardly played a game this season and at his age the intense training might be a shock to his system ;)

If that's the case of him being out of contract then £3m is a lot of money, don`t you think?

{Ed007's Note - No. We got that for Joe Ledley and that was a few years ago.}

Was he not on his way to China for £8m, with all the money they pay it would mean that He would be the most expensive BALL BOY in China, as real players cost £40-50m plus.

JFP1888: My thoughts are this. Given the seriousness of CG`s injury it really could be the end of his career at CP, Might I add I hope its not.

Now BR will need a very very good back up or indeed will have to spend a few £££ on a top keeper, which we have been shouting about for a while.
