Rumours of Ukranian winger Maryan Shved being looked at by Celtic. Seems like a bit of an overloaded position already.

DB92

1.) 18 Jan 2019 11:06:33
No happening. As you said, to many there already.
I think it will be defence and only CM if Brown leaves.

2.) 18 Jan 2019 11:31:35
I agree, i don't see a point in it but apparently we are 1 of 4 clubs chasing him. unless we get rid of some of the dead wood and get a few boys out on loan it seems a bit of a non starter.

3.) 18 Jan 2019 12:10:55
Tbh though we do need wingers

Burke weah arzani whoever are all loans

Morgan, Hayes etc appear to be not good enough

So would make sense to secure a winger.

Not that I'm saying the board will.

4.) 18 Jan 2019 16:30:04
It’s a bit early to say Morgan isn’t good enough, he was bought for the future and needs to be out on loan and playing to develop.

5.) 18 Jan 2019 16:39:29
Lewis Morgan will be a star for us, he may go out on loan just now. But I can see a fantastic player in Lewis. Hayes I would move on.

06 Aug 2018 11:36:28
Winners of the Malmo tie if we make the next round. One of the kinder draws.

DB92

1.) 06 Aug 2018 12:00:08
Happy with that. Did want a shot at revenge if we get past AEK.

2.) 06 Aug 2018 12:41:21
Best tie we could have got.

3.) 06 Aug 2018 17:28:40
Who else could we of got?

29 Jan 2018 13:39:04
Walked by Musonda in Ross Hall lads, one thing to say is he's tiny 😂.

DB92

1.) 29 Jan 2018 14:03:56
Seen video of him walkout at airport to meet his reps and to meet the great Celtic ambassador Tosh McKinly quality man.

2.) 29 Jan 2018 14:44:52
Tosh McKinley is a scout I’m sure Rich. I’d imagine he work closely with Lee Congerton, going by that reaction on the clip.

3.) 29 Jan 2018 15:13:11
So is Messi! And Maradona and Jinky. It’s talent not size that matters.

4.) 29 Jan 2018 15:23:52
Calm the ham chinks, just didn’t expect to walk into him. Realised who it was when I sat down and seen the airport photo. His ripped jeans were horrid 😂.

5.) 29 Jan 2018 15:36:58
Haha was his entourage with him he seemed to everyone and their granny with him this morning haha.

6.) 29 Jan 2018 16:02:58
Just the doctor mate.

7.) 29 Jan 2018 18:57:43
Charly is nearly 5 foot 9. That's classed as a giant in Glasgow and most of west coast of Scotland.

8.) 29 Jan 2018 19:40:19
I saw him hugging Ronaldo a he looked dwarfed. But, as was said, he can play.

26 May 2016 21:43:28
Rumours on twitter that celtic made a formal approach for Will Griggs, had a good season at Wigan.

DB92

1.) 26 May 2016 22:32:19
He'd be better than Danny Graham in my opinion

2.) 26 May 2016 22:49:42
I'd sign him just for the chant can't see Wigan selling though they just gave a season book away to the fan that started the will Griggs on fire chant.

3.) 27 May 2016 07:11:16
I'd hope our sights are set higher than that. Hope Rodgers doesn't want to do most of his shopping in the english leagues. There are far superioir players at greater value playing in scandanavia, eastern europe and the netherlands.

4.) 27 May 2016 09:27:02
I wonder which Rodgers X signing we will be linked today with?

Brilliant result!
Some of the passing was a joy.
New boys really played their part and Boli looking far more settled. Hopefully calm the pantywetters down for a bit.
Absolutely controlled that game, and a few more signings will make the ten easy.

HH.

DB92

1.) 22 Aug 2019 22:02:51
Don't know about the ten but a very good performance by celtic tonight and they deserve my praise as I have been really critical of them and lennon couple more signings and we should be good to go.

2.) 22 Aug 2019 22:19:00
Totally agree, great performance and I thought a few off our players were absolutely excellent tonight.

3.) 22 Aug 2019 22:54:28
Pantywetters? I take it you mean fans who are concerned at Lennons poor managerial skills? Just a heads up we are not through yet, AIK away will be difficult tie.

21 Sep 2018 10:58:43
Did Celtic get beat last night Ed?
3 points and no worries at the back was what i seen.
Team needs to get a bit slicker but how many games have we played well in europe and been pumped. Far too much doom and gloom in here for my likings.

DB92

1.) 21 Sep 2018 11:42:30
3 points and a clean sheet is good but rosenborg are one of the worst teams we have played in Europe in recent years.
We are really struggling going forward and anyone that refuses to acknowledge it's a problem is kidding themselves.
Rogic needs punted. Hasn't lifted a hoof since he signed his contract. Forrest, McGregor, Eduard, Sinclair and others look lost and lacking any craft.
I don't fancy us to get out of this group based on our form since start of the season.
Call me a doom and gloom merchant but its just my opinion.

2.) 21 Sep 2018 13:04:08
Irish av seen a lot worse than Rosenberg they were ok and well organised.

3.) 21 Sep 2018 13:37:17
I see the only problem we have is braking teams down teams that camp on there side are hard to break down I get that but we need new ideas for that passing it all the way back to the goal keeper from the half way line is not the answer we don't seem to have a lot of movement off the ball that we had 2 years ago players seam to be more static probably get slated for this but that's my view on it.

4.) 21 Sep 2018 20:03:33
Some of our posters can only see the worse in our team. I suppose they must have interest in our club and team, but they can't be supporters, as they neither encourage or support our players or club.

02 Aug 2018 14:22:18
People saying Celtic are weaker this year than last - one oint to argue, we are short one player in Armstrong and it doesn't take a genius to see McGinn will fill that role.

The point in having a young team is they improve. Ajer, Tierney, McGregor, Edouard, Ntcham are just a few but I would say every one of these players is rated higher now than this time last year so that would make me ask with that in mind do you really feel we are weaker than last year?

add in morgan, Christie, bain and another month in the transfer window I think people need to chill.

DB92

1.) 02 Aug 2018 15:19:47
Rogers said it too.

2.) 02 Aug 2018 15:37:20
We are a genuine CL group stage contender. We are not Rangers who can only dream. When you are at the top you nerd to push on. So far we have not done that. Every teams players will be better. BR is not the only one that can coach. He has said it himself, we are weaker. He wants more quality by end of August. So do the fans. Christie is not CL quality. Morgan, don't know yet. Bain is back up. We are talking about players who can come straight into the first team, not projects. We don't want Cifti, Hayes, Christie Comper etc, we need genuine quality like N'tcham and Edouard. They cost money but we are better than SPL and we need to man up for CL or we will start to drop down a level. Also McGinn is not a direct replacement for Armstrong. He is more a N'tcham/ brown player. that's why we have not gone for him. He will sign January so he is next year.

3.) 02 Aug 2018 15:49:55
we are one man short which I acknowledged, and would love better signings in. No one is arguing that fsct but I think our best option is waiting for the English window to close.

Waghorn just went (or is going) for 8 mill down there - prices are inflated heavily. You're saying spend for the reward but what happens if celtic go ahead and spend that money on someone of that level - they wouldn't necessarily be ready to walk in the team and if we did lose then next window your selling players to make up for it.

Enjoy the success we are having plenty of it.

4.) 02 Aug 2018 16:03:35
Johnny who you want is irrelevant.
It's who the manager wants that matters.
He wanted Hayes Compper Morgan Bain.

From his interview today.

There is some work going on behind the scenes but there is nothing to give any clarity on anyone coming in

I think every manager and coach would always look and think they would need more.

"I want it for the supporters, I want it for the squad, but I want quality.

"We could have had lots of players in but we only quality

"This is a group that has continued to grow and develop, so to bring in players that are going to be better than that.

"It takes time to source that.

"I would be disappointed if we weren't stronger come the end of August but I'm happy with where we are at because essentially I need to try and work with the players we have here in what is a treacherous period of the season.

"We aim to add quality to our squad, that's key for us, but right now, my focus is all on the players that are here. "

5.) 02 Aug 2018 16:10:06
Maybe Mulumbu would give us something different in midfield.

6.) 02 Aug 2018 16:39:29
Is he still a free agent Aindoh? That guy walks into any team in the country bar us. Be great depth.

7.) 02 Aug 2018 17:25:43
Kev83. What else can the manager say. He can hardly say he wants worse players to come in.
I wouldn't mind betting though that he's a bit disappointed that halfway through this treacherous part of the season we haven't strengthened the squad as he was probably expecting.

8.) 02 Aug 2018 17:57:05
Gerry he doesn't have to say anything but the truth of the matter is he's got that much power at parkhead right now he's bullet proof. He could fire a broadside at the board if he wanted.
Fans on hear saying he ain't telling the truth are out of order.

9.) 02 Aug 2018 19:59:43
Let's move on bhoys agree to disagree Brendan said today things are happening behind the scenes let's wait to the window shuts.

10.) 02 Aug 2018 22:23:42
Some of our fans have spent almost all their lives criticising the board the manager, the players and individual players in particular .
Just like the Scottish media can't help itself fault finding at Celtic, so can some of our fans despite how well the club is doing.

11.) 02 Aug 2018 22:37:19
Why is everyone getting their knickers in a twist over our transfer activity? Folks want to calm down and realise that we will not sign players for the sake of signing players!

The quality of player we want to attract to a one horse league that would get into our starting 11 will not come unless we can offer Champions League football. If we can offer Champions League football the better quality of player we can attract.

We currently have a squad that will easily wipe the floor domestically again. I can't understand why people are saying we haven't replaced Roberts or Armstrong when both couldn't get into the starting 11 last season.

Once the qualifiers are settled then we will see where we stand in terms of the type of player we can go after. HH.

Anyone else think big Boyata gets more stick than he deserves. Thought during the Anderlecht game big Sutton was quick to crucify him as soon as anything went wrong. At one point Armstrong walks away from a pass facing the wrong direction and it seemed to be the big mans fault.

Genuinely think he looks solid a lot more often than not and probably our best centre half. Jozo has looked more suspect in my opinion.

Would like to see Ajer get more of a chance thought he looked class on Saturday.

DB92

1.) 07 Dec 2017 09:53:07
I agree with you about Boyata but not Ajer just yet remember his performance in norway.

2.) 07 Dec 2017 11:24:10
It was his performance against Astanta away that was the bad one jonace and TBF throwing the young lad into a game like that alongside Bitton was totally unfair on the young boy.

3.) 07 Dec 2017 12:03:29
Why not judge him on the games he has played since, where he did well.

4.) 07 Dec 2017 14:43:38
Fair point mate. Just thought looking at Ajer on Saturday he’s definitely filled out. Was charging through the midfield for fun and can clearly pick a pass. Think he needs bled in to the first team before it’s too late.

08 Aug 2017 13:30:20
Really think if we can get by Astana we will have one of our best seasons in the champions league.

Potential pot 3 if any of the 4 seeded teams above us go out and they all have pretty tough ties.

The Pot 1 teams actually don't look too frightening if you can avoid the obvious 3 or 4, think Pot 2 yer humped either way.

With a bit of luck and the arrival of Paddy Roberts we could be looking at a pretty strong squad for the group stages. Would be brilliant to slap a PL squad out and make the last 16!

HH.

DB92

1.) 08 Aug 2017 13:45:31
can we draw liverpool?, can see it on the cards maself.

{Ed007's Note - If Liverpool qualify they'll go into Pot 3 so yes we can get them and I've felt for a while that'll happen too. Have you seen the pots so far?

Pot 1: Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Juventus, Benfica, Monaco, Spartak Moscow, Shakhtar Donetsk.

Pot 2: Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, Man City, Porto, Man United.

Pot 3: Switzerland Basel, Anderlecht, Roma, BeÅŸiktaÅŸ.

Pot 4: RB Leipzig.

Depending on Play- Off results Spurs will be in Pot 2 or 3 and Feyenoord will be in pot 3 or 4.}

2.) 08 Aug 2017 14:04:39
Ed, am i right in saying its:
Olympiakos
Sevilla
Napoli
Liverpool

that are above us for Pot 3?

Think one of our best chances is Nice beating Napoli. Just hoping one of them get caught out, even Olympiakos.

{Ed007's Note - Yes mate, we need one of them to go out. Liverpool could find Hoffenheim tricky opponents and Sevilla have Turkish opponents which is never easy, especially the away tie.}

3.) 08 Aug 2017 14:09:37
So its going to be very hard Ed to avoid one English team because they all need to be kept apart!

With 5 teams in it they should scrub that rule IMO.

{Ed007's Note - I agree mate that rule should be scrapped but we know they won't as it allows a lot of big teams to avoid each other in the groups which suits them and UEFA.}

4.) 08 Aug 2017 14:20:03
Aye, Sevilla love a europa league run as well.

Big adebayor has been banging them in for them I'm sure. Buzzing for a good run in Europe for the team.

I think a decent run this season will open us up to setting a benchmark that we do belong in top comps with the rich folk, and attract a better quality player in line with teams like Benfica.

5.) 08 Aug 2017 14:23:33
Bite your hand off for Shakhtar, Porto and Basel.

6.) 08 Aug 2017 14:42:25
Monaco should struggle to get a starting 11 out now they have been raided.

Would take them, Dortmund and Feyenoord.

7.) 08 Aug 2017 15:30:32
I think everyone of us would love a trip to Dortmund. The atmosphere looks amazing. Would love to see it in the flesh.

Will there be a game time clause in either of the loan deals? More notably Weah - Can't see him coming for 6 months for bench time. Feel Burke will be good to give Forrest a break every few games or a good second half sub. Good seeing Celtic get deals done early.

Spot on mate, but comes from them thinking we can just throw any player we have into a hole rather than spend some money. Everybody and their granny can see we need to strengthen that defence, yet we keep selling key players and expecting it to be fine.

Feel sorry for young Johnstone - it was quite obvious he’s not ready for a first team starter role - we extend sinclairs contract to stick him in the reserves. Morgan struggled to get a game for Sunderland. We should not be experimenting in the qualifiers, absolute disaster.

If our spend is so low in comparison
to transfer fees surely our wages should be nowhere near most of these. Or is the problem we are stockpiling players who never get a game.

DB92

{Ed007's Note - That is a big part of it but we do have a lot more non-footballing staff than most of those clubs mentioned and come next year Rodgers significant salary along with Davies and Toure will be off the bill. Lennon, Kennedy and Duff would probably cost less than Rodgers alone did.
Basically we've shaved £3+ million off the wage bill and the compensation from Leicester (£7-9 million depending who you ask/believe) is sitting in the bank.}
