See shevy has just married his wife. Could we be the first team to have a maried couple to play i at the same club?

I thought we had Kieran and Paddy not only playing in the one club but on the same teamπŸ˜„πŸ˜€πŸ˜….

Lads there is some Celtic support obsessed with Roberts. I would absolutely love him, but just heard today the lad is on 70k per week. There is no way he is coming. I think we need to move on. And yes I feel he is a like for like for Roberts. As much I hate to accept it.

If Forrest couldn't get inspired to play even better and fight for his place under Rogers or when Roberts was here he is never going to cut it. I don't think he has the right football brain. Or the determination to succeed like a great does.

So that leaves us with who is coming in.

Hayes!

03 Jun 2017 21:27:25
I wish wee Paddy was coming back but it seems unlikely. Sinclair is class but after that? Hayes would be a cracking squad player at least. But we need to spend serious bucks to bring in another top creative player, whether that's wide right or a number ten. And as far as Europe goes a top centre half too.

I find it hard to believe he's on 70k a week mind.

AC Milan in talks with MD does that mean Celtic have made a deal ED?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - AC Milan like every other team will know how much Celtic want and if Dembele is in talks with the Italians then they will have Celtic's permission. His agent has more than likely asked the Club's permission to talk to Milan to see what's on offer to Dembele before the clubs work on the transfer. Transfers at this level are unbelievably complex affairs with lots of conversations happening off the record between agents and clubs. Celtic wouldn't want to upset Dembele by standing in his way of seeing what's on offer out there and the player won't want to upset the Club by seeming too keen to move on, Dembele is more than happy to stay here next season if any his suitors won't guarantee him game time.}

03 Jun 2017 22:40:31
No chance mick. he's on about 25k a week. if he was on 70 we wouldn't have got him in the first place on loan hh.

Trust me he is. Celtic paid him 20k City the other.

I just worry that if he does go, how do you replace such like as him. The club be set for a huge financial coup from this and Virgil also. But what will they give rodgers, as that's what matters to us fans.

I reckon the board have more say on Brendan that we think. If dembele goes, and it looks like he will. We are even worse off for Europe. Who will they go for spfl again. Strikes of deliaesque. Ian not being negative lads, being realistic. It's profit at all costs. That's the board. Any board apart from a few. If a crazy offer comes for tierney he will be gone too simple. Money dictates.

We won a treble went unbeaten, and we think oh the board have changed, they haven't, where do we all get this the board have changed because we got lucky with moussa, and Sinclair paid off. That's it boys, rodgers has done wonders with appertaining players, but Armstrong I feel would come amazing under most half decent managers.

Where's his new contract boys. Serious, I am not happy that's just an opinion we keep falling behind a glorious domestic season, which I feel is blink wring what we really face or need. It's the same team as last years qualifications, and it's even harder than last year.

Just doesn't add up mate. if we paid 500k for a loan fee and if we did pay his wage at 20 that would be roughly 1.5m plus the 500k is 2m all in and your saying saying city paid the other 3.5m - 4m in wages doubt it very much.

Anyone considered that signing Johnny Hayes could be the same idea as signing doris? Surely would light a fire under forest! As with Gordon. I believe forest would never surpass Roberts but give him something to beat and it could fulfil his potential which I think he never has reached.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

03 Jun 2017 16:24:33

Surely 6m for borini is a wind up and just paper talk. i mean if we can't get better than borini for 6 milion i would be shocked and amazed what are all theses "scouts" doing i mean like 500,000 for dembele and and more than 10x that amount for him.

After the season we have just had i find it pretty poor that some are questioning BR and his possible signing of Hayes. Exhibit one: Armstrong. A completely different player to last season and an added goal threat to his game. Arguably our best player since January. Could Hayes squeeze another 20-30% under BR's systems? He will not be expected to pull rabbits outa hats like at Aberdeen.

The list of players that have improved needs no noting on here. The fact is he will be a squad player and there is no denying that he has the pace to hurt teams.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

03 Jun 2017 12:34:06
My own opinion of Hayes is probably blinkered due to watching Paddy and the thought of having to replace him. Maybe a bit harsh on anyone coming in and playing as a winger. There's no doubt Hayes has proved himself in the SPL and has looked dangerous in the games against us. In the CL though we will need someone either as good as Paddy or better if we are to progress. Early days and when signings do happen I will put my trust in BR to get it right, I just hope if any of our youngsters are used in these deals it will be loans only.

Agree0 Disagree1

03 Jun 2017 13:09:47
Hayes isn't a terrible player. Always find when we've played Aberdeen their biggest threat is down the wings (Hayes, McGinn) Hayes scores some screamers and his delivery is really good way better than Forrest. He will be a good squad player domestically and I would rather Hayes over Forrest for the CL qualifiers too.

Dazza just hope reports of us wanting Borini are not true, apparently has a Β£6m release clause, please Brendan spend the Β£6m elsewhere.

Agree0 Disagree1

03 Jun 2017 13:12:07
Find it weird we wouldn't cough up for a player like Onyekuru who was valued around Β£3m at the time but would quite easily blow Β£6m on a player like Borini who is a terrible goalscorer.

Agree0 Disagree1

03 Jun 2017 14:26:59
I can't see us signing borini. He had a bust up with Rogers and slaughtered him in the press.

03 Jun 2017 15:24:46
You are just saying why are people questioning rodgers, I am not, but let's get real no one is impervious to criticism and you state borini as am Euston mark for 6 million. Lol. too right that is major question. And one dembelle will not go this season, not for 30 million guys.

I have to agree with a few of the guys down the page
I don't think Hayes is being brought in as a replacement for Roberts
I think he is being brought in as cover and rotation with sinclaire for the league.
I think that another left winger with be brought in with forrest doing the same job as Hayes
Let's all just take a bit of time to bask in our glory and see where we are at end of window.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

03 Jun 2017 10:52:42
There's no doubt Hayes has been a good player in the SPL and if he is being brought in as cover for domestic games then i'm sure he is more than capable of doing a good job for us. I don't think we should entertain any thought of letting Christie go as part of that deal as he is a work in progress and has potential to be a great player, another loan deal would be good for him and us. Not getting Paddy back will be a big blow and unfortunately for anyone one coming in now will seem like us downgrading as he will be impossible to replace and for me Hayes is not on the same level and we need better quality for the Champions League. Who knows maybe i am wrong maybe he will excel with the players we have around him. For me Paddy quite frankly is the best winger i have seen play at Celtic Park since i started going in the mid 80s. Will we see him in the Hoops again, I will keep hoping until an official statement says otherwise.

A lot of people seem to be very negative about lack of signings/ signing jonny Hayes. It was 7 days ago we won the treble to complete an unbeaten season. Now suddenly an overhaul of the squad is required? Surely we can trust the manager to sign whoever he wants after that season. I for one think Hayes would be a good signing if it even happens, he's the best player in the league who doesn't play for Celtic and he's better than Forrest. I don't think its time to panic because we haven't signed a 'champions league' player. Some folk are only happy if they're no happy!

Agreed mate. Signings we made last year weren't plastered all over the papers until they were almost official. I'd prefer it that way, rather than believing nonsense from HITC and the likes.

Agree0 Disagree2

03 Jun 2017 09:16:49
I think that hayes will be cover for sinclair, something we didn't have last yr, mate we could sign pogba, messi, ronaldo etc and there would still be moaning, we are still incredibly bitchy in the close season lol, 6 days in and its lawells this and the board that, brendans walking etc, and that's with an undefeated treble, im still basking in the glory of last season, but some fans will never be happy.

Agree0 Disagree1

03 Jun 2017 01:12:59
Calm down bhoys. Hayes will do a job as back up to sinclair, who has been overplayed yhis year. He is not a paddy replacement. As other fans have said he was the one standout when we played the dons. It could be worse we could be declaring inion jack as our saviour and puting our trust in a 37 year old defender, a 38 year old striker and an unknown mexican.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

03 Jun 2017 08:33:15
He is a good player lb (good enough for europe. remains to be seen) and I'd be happy with him here as long as Christie isn't going there permanent. as for a paddy replacement isn't the rw where he operates most? . and if paddy is staying even on loan why would we need him . can't see him coming at tbis stage of his career as a back up player to sinclair. and id rather we gave game Time to Calvin Miller to develop in that role.

Agree0 Disagree3

03 Jun 2017 15:20:57
hayes deal held up by aberdeen wanting christie on a permanent deal, while celtic only want him to join aberdeen on another loan deal.
