Evening Ed / Bhoys

As our financial season comes to an end I just wanted to bring to your attention a pattern that has emerged over the years for anyone who has an interest in shares

Last season I advised a few on here to buy

Under NL our share price sat at circa 40p when we entered CL football the share price nearly doubled to 70p+

Under RD the share price never really changed and stayed static

Under BR and the re-emergence of CL football in two years it again has nearly doubled to where it sits the now @ £1.31

If you factor in the VVD money in the balance sheet and planning permission achieved for the 180 on site bedroom hotel IMO the emergence of CL football would in all probability see the share price sore again

As and if we hopefully navigate qualification worthwhile keeping an eye on ;-D (Y)

{Ed007's Note - And Jamie's going to buy us all 100 shares..... :-D

I cheers Jamie, I'll give u my email address so u can send them to me paperless. Or would u rather send them through the post?

No secret mate, that's how shares work. Some variants but basically make more money share price up.

Agree0 Disagree2

02 Jun 2018 22:48:46
What about any one who has shares and now his shares, or hers, are in profit, would it not be in keeping with the ideals of the founders of Celtic, if, I don't know how to do this by the way, they could sell some shares, say, representing 10% of the increase in original share cost/ value, and then use that money to buy goods to donate to food banks, I don't want to say give the money to an organised charity, after learning that the CEO of Save the Children, is on quarter of a million a year.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jun 2018 08:39:35
I bought 3000 Pounds worth of shares at the very first share issue under Fergus I bought them so I could have the certificate and say I owned part of my club. I def did not buy them for monetery gain. Which is lucky cos they would need to jump up another 2.00 for me to break even. Lol.

yaya toure?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

02 Jun 2018 16:43:47
This seems to be cropping up. Unless he takes a MASSIVE cut in wages no chance. Kolo seems to be loved by the players, the dance thing seems to be a ritual now, so that might count but where would he play? front of a back three for Europe?

Agree0 Disagree1

02 Jun 2018 16:54:58
II'm not a fan of signing players coming to the end of there career.

Would prefer to use the money he would command in wages to bring someone young in, who has a sell on value.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jun 2018 17:05:56
no me neither, but yaya would still eat this league. plus thingk he would be good coach for some of our young midfeilders. he has stated he want to do coaching after next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jun 2018 17:07:36
When did sell on value become so important to Celtic fans?

Agree2 Disagree6

02 Jun 2018 18:12:07
When the board decided it was there transfer policy going forward I would say.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Jun 2018 18:46:16
That's the board worry kev but why is it important factor to the fans?
I don't care about someone's sell on value personally. I care about what they can do for us on the field.

Agree1 Disagree5

02 Jun 2018 20:29:24
C'mon lads if ya have a chance to sign yaya you take it no sell on fee who cares he'd be great at Celtic had lubo a sell on fee would xavi have one yaya gets a yes from me.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Jun 2018 20:48:09
Goes hand in hand if they perform well we can sell big and in principle buy better the next time although I don’t recall this ever actually happening

I personally will be very interested to see if we actually sign any quality players and worry we will be relying on players like Christie, Morgan and Hayes if we don’t.

Morgan for me hasn’t shined at all when I’ve seen him play and willing to give him a chance but Christie and Hayes IMO will be Aberdeen level all day long

A very interesting June/ July period coming up and I hope we don’t wait too long to get players signed.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Jun 2018 11:32:15
What is everyone's thoughts on the transfer window.
I think we might do our business later on in the window. when the English one shuts.
Right back.
Centre back.
Defensive mid.
Left sided mid.
Players that walk straight in.
No more projects.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

02 Jun 2018 12:07:25
I agree with the players who will walk straight in, but to move forward step by step it should be two major signings a season and trying to keep our best players, I would push for a winger and a right back this year,

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jun 2018 12:39:00
We need a CB a RB and a GK imo. We have the attacking potential in this team, if we can hold it together, but really need to have the foundations to support that. If we were solid at the back then the attacking players can concentrate on penetrating the other end.

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - This season we conceded the same amount of league goals as we did last year but scored 33 less. We drew 0-0 at home to the likes of Dundee, Kilmarnock, Motherwell and St Johnstone so for me it's more important to look at the lack of creativity in the team, the AM 3 needs an overhaul because with Sinclair's form plummeting Rogic and Forrest failed to step.
There's no point having strikers the calibre of Dembele, Griffiths and hopefully Edouard if there's nobody creating the chances for them.}

02 Jun 2018 13:16:03
Got to agree there I think we're crying out for a creative spark. Jonathan Bamba on a free would really do me. I'd live to see us sign a RB who can get up and down the way Tierney does. Been asking for a GK for a few seasons now and don't think we'll see a new no.1 this summer either. A CB would be a nice little cherry on the top too. I don't think that's too much to ask, 4 signings that improve the team. Hopefully we get them earlier than later though. Not sure what difference the English window shutting earlier makes? Genuine question.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We can still bring in players from England after their window closes on the 9th August, JT.}

02 Jun 2018 13:27:40
I don't disagree with you Ed, however; we will win the league again at a canter and the likliehood of us getting 2-3 AM and 2-3Def isn't going to happen. And if we want to attract the level of AM or any other positions for that matter we need to stop getting an absolute pumping in Europe. We can moan all we want about the financial difference but there are other teams out there not shipping goals like us and that imo will put players off. I think strengthen the back, improve our goals conceded in europe and attract better players.

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Would you really say we won the league at a canter, I wouldn't? We win it by only 9 points, only 2 more wins than Aberdeen, we drew one less game than Kilmarnock did, we were outscored by TRIFC and we only won 2 of our games after the split..... has a complacency got into the squad?}

02 Jun 2018 13:26:58
Good point Ed, the service into the box this season has been woeful. Infact the decent service came from Tierney rather than our wingers. Very rarely see goals these days like big JVH used to score and that is definitely down to the service. I know it is a wingers job to run at the defence but sometimes the better option is to just get the ball into the box rather than them fail to get passed the 1st or 2nd man which happened more often than not this season.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We seemed to endlessly pass the ball around 25-30 yards from the opponent's box with seemingly nobody capable of breaking down well organised packed defences.}

02 Jun 2018 14:03:54
Complacency is the key word there. They can and will do better, i have faith in that. So i stand by my at a canter statement and justify it by saying we know the squad is better than how they played a lot of the times. The Rangers games is what will happen when we turn up motivated. However; motivated or not it was peeping through fingers over eyes watching Euro games. I would agree with needing 1 really gifted AM tho. a wee Lubo type of technical ability. That and a strong Defence and GK would transform us.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - I think a lot of our league games were worse than peeping through fingers stuff, they were downright garbage. If players can't get motivated to play for the Club, their team-mates and fans in EVERY game they shouldn't be here.
If they approach the CL qualifiers with the same nonchalant attitude and unimaginative style of play that was shown during a lot of league games we won't get near the group stages.
Knowing the team can do better simply isn't good enough, they need to show it every time they pull on that jersey.}

02 Jun 2018 14:34:53
We need a winger that can give sinclair some serious competition, preferably one that can improve our corners n free kicks. Our delivery from corners is pi$h when Griffiths isn't on.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jun 2018 15:18:39
I didn't actually stop to think players could still leave if a window was shut. Ta Ed. Might give us the opportunity to get somebody like a Patrick Roberts in from one of the bigger sides or perhaps even a bit of ready made quality. Not just a cast off though for the sake of it. Let's see how some of the better sides shape up, it might just open up an opportunity.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Definitely, JT. Instead of rushing around on (our) deadline day and seeing what the Pub League have available we will have a couple of weeks to see what's available and others could become available.}

02 Jun 2018 16:22:36
@JimTim, I’ve seen Bamba’s name on a few different sites. Most of them mentioning his familiarity with Ntcham and Moussa. Seems like it could be an excellent piece of business if there actually is interest.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jun 2018 17:11:18
They're all hit whore sites though Kev mate that's the trouble. If I were Congerton though, I'd be making a few phone calls about him. I think it would be a really shrewd move on what I've seen if him. I often look at the free agent list every summer and he's one that stands out for me. Just seems like a good fit.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jun 2018 17:23:02
I’m sure one of the Celtic ones mentioned him but they might have just been reporting on the made up link from elsewhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jun 2018 15:06:40
Not like you to roast them Ed? Posters on here have been saying the same for months.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - And some were saying it over, and over, and over any chance they got.}

02 Jun 2018 15:11:57
Was the results against sevco because of motivation or because we had more space as they were actively trying to play and not park the bus like other teams do? I agree with Ed007 we need an AM with the vision and ability to play through these packed defenses, in my opinion, we should spend in the AM/ CB/ RB positions Assuming we don't lose any Strikers.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We've got somebody already - Callum McGregor. I;d start him in the CAM role over Rogic all day every day.}

02 Jun 2018 17:03:07
100% agree Ed, creativity was our problem this season, not our defence.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - People were quick to pounce on any slight mistake Boyata made to crucify him while up the other end of the park James Forrest is running about like a headless chicken and Rogic is strolling about putting in as much effort as a geriatric sloth and constantly passing the ball sideways.}

02 Jun 2018 19:44:45
Most likely bud. The Dembele/ Ntcham thing could be key though I agree there. To be honest it's probably just another crap link I'm getting carried away with.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jun 2018 20:32:23
We only let teams get as close as we want them to.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jun 2018 21:06:28
Geriatric Sloth 😂😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - :-D

02 Jun 2018 21:41:27
Fair play Ed about players playing every game to full effort. I agree whole heartedly on that. I think the point i want to make is that IF and WHEN the atracking half turn up they can play some good looking and quick football. But, and this is my opinion which i am entitled to. Our defence, with the obvious exceptions, doesn't have the class i would like to see there.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Have they turned up often enough though when you look at the draws we've had and after watching the slow and laborious gameplay?}

02 Jun 2018 21:44:18
Id also add that i can't recall peeping thru my fingers in the league. Severe dissaspoint and at times disgust. But never cringe worthy fear of Europe.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - 2-1 down at Ibrox? 2-2 and Jozo red carded? Hearts 4 Celtic 1? I could go on, Shug.}

02 Jun 2018 23:24:05
Lol. You got me with the hearts one but the Rangers match i was confident on tbh. They were rank rotten in that match.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - But we were rank rotten in plenty of games, that's my point, Shug, is guddling by drawing with the teams I've mentioned etc a high enough srandard in Scotland when we should be at a level of looking to improve in Europe?}

05 Jun 2018 23:03:21
Many fans are saying we need to buy a player like Patrick Roberts .
I disagree because although Patrick did well season 16/ 17, he did very little in
Season 17/ 18 . He had two hamstring injuries but effectively missed the whole season.

02 Jun 2018 11:46:38

Big Sutton spot on with his assessment of the Celtic squad hope they read it and take heed.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

02 Jun 2018 09:11:56
Spot on Mallly particulary with respect to Sinclair and Armstrong. His comment that Rodgers initially dressed up Sinclair’s performances with statistics from earlier in the season is what happened on here when I suggested he had massively failed to reach the heights of the previous season and in my view had been piss poor. As for Armstrong no doubting his ability but massive question mark for me over his commitment and desire. Great player but if his heart isn’t at Celtic Park punt him. His praise and exhoneration of Broon, McGreggor, Rogic, KT and the much maligned Forrest was also on the money. ☘️.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Jun 2018 10:17:20
Yep agree with that jfp wee griff and Armstrong need to stay fit and get a run of games.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jun 2018 10:29:37
Just read the whole article. Fair and honest assessment imo. I am one who sees a game for what it is, by that i mean performance wise as opposed to stats so i think Sutton is spot on.

03 Jun 2018 12:20:10
forrest was poor the whole second half of the season.
