Have Police Scotland not thought this through?
With both games being on same day and both Celtic and Sevco fans travelling fom England and Northern Ireland, the fans will probably be staying in SAME hotels overnight, and travelling on the SAME ferries over from Ulster.
There is the potential for mass brawls all over Glasgow and on the ferries.
I hope I am wrong but I fear the worst.

I posted last night that both semi finals would be played at Hampden with a lunchtime and evening kick-off. oldkilly.

I know this is probably too simple but why didn’t they just move it to a weekend when there’s no EL games?

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 22:19:51
Timalloy both sets travel from those places if we play them so I don't really see a problem there. Ma problem is it's bad enough playing on a Sunday after a Saturday game on that cow field, how bad is it going to be with just a couple of hours for the groundsmen to do what they can. Our only hope is for a dry week before it or it will be almost impossible to play decent football.

I’d wager there’s a fair chance a number of our fans will head for the bars in and around Hampden before the game and there could be significant numbers of ‘the people’ who have gone to the same bars after their game. What could possibly go wrong?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - What if the first game goes to extra time?}

28 Sep 2018 00:25:00
That would obviously make it a lot worse. There could be carnage in that event.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It would be a logistical nightmare.}

28 Sep 2018 10:20:30
I'm sure the officials have been told to make sure Sevco get through in 90 mins lol.

28 Sep 2018 08:30:24
Now Ed, I am sure that the authorities have thought this one out and taken all possibilities into account. There will not be extra time as they have already decided on the match officials.

I am not worried about the football fans as much as I am about the Orange Lodge having a parade the same day . This could lead to tiredness and emotion amongst serving members of Scottish police force . This in turn could lead to strange and wondrous decisions by the coppers and then past experience would indicate a lack understanding for fans wearing Green We could have trouble.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 19:26:21
Hold on a minute. Wasn't our game pulled out the hat first.?
How did we end up playing the second game when the turf is going to be cut to pieces?

Police Scotland seem to have made the decision to let their pet club play first.

If Sevco lose and wreck the toilets, will they be able to do the repairs in time before our game?

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 20:10:06
The whole thing’s a shambles. A school kid could organise the fixture calander better than the imbeciles in charge of this. I’m sure it’s nothing intentional though. It will even itself out. won’t it?

27 Sep 2018 20:49:59
Bhoys we all knew whatever happened would benefit Sevco and unbenefit us. luck of the “draw” .

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 23:12:35
The establishment will always pamper their favourites and hamper us.
You could have bet your house that their game would KO first, giving them a clear advantage - as did the draw and that's just the start; Watch out for a string of honest mistakes - in both games.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Sep 2018 19:39:16
To be fair, if the sevco v sheep game was played second there would be no way for the dons fans to get home, the last train to Aberdeen leaves at 21:45,I know the earliest train makes them miss the start of the match, but getting home from Glasgow late at night is far more important, so I'd say not a conspiracy guys, just no other option if they are going to play these games on the same day.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 19:10:23
Looks like both games on same day us a 7.45 ko the park will be like a paddy field by then.

27 Sep 2018 19:33:55
Yeah I was thinking the same the pitch will be in some mess.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 18:47:49
Both games played on the same day with us V Hearts at 7.45 on a Sunday night! Heart's - Celtic where drew out first so why do we (&Hearts) ave to play on a pitch"that will be cut up after the first game. A nightmare for Aberdeen fans regarding travel. Carnage will be guaranteed if that mob get knocked out.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

27 Sep 2018 19:25:56
Probably because of the logistics of Aberdeen getting there and away

If it was the late ko they would be up the road at way into the night plus you run the risk of them leaving early

Not a fan of the beaks but have to say in all honesty I think they have got this one right to the best extent that they could 👍.

What's every ones thoughts on some of the free agents floating about . Couple of them would be good edition to squad freshing things up a Bit untill window opens up . We obviously need it!

Traore is a big lad but can he play.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 17:34:16
Griff took a knock last night and for a minute I thought he was injured again and we would really struggle if he was missing.
The board sanctioned the Dembele move, without making proper steps to have a replacement on board and a free agent could help protect both main strikers, until the January window. The problem is who?

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 19:12:51
Worth a Gamble in my opinion but I don't think it will happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Sep 2018 13:04:26
Football agents whether they are free or not are no answer to our needs .
Neither target men, nor strikers are certainly not fit if they have become unattached in August . If signed now it would be near enough our mid winter break before he would be of any use to us.

27 Sep 2018 15:29:38
Hard to believe just read SPFL are seriously considering playing both semi finals on the same day. Yeah let's do that and watch carnage unfold lol.

It appears we were very lucky last night after the game.
As all the headlines state "Celtic avoid Sevco"
Yes we were all running scared of meeting a team we have humped umpteen times already in past 3 seasons lol.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

27 Sep 2018 13:28:30
It would have been good to get them in the semi's as they won't have a recognised ST available☘HH.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 13:31:46
Its always going to be the same Timalloy. Realisticaly we are the best team they have faced and we were all over them. Villareal are a shadow of their former selfs but can see them hammering sevco next tie.

A lot of media seem to forget in league a few teams have a great start then come November they start to fade away. We are weaker than last season but still stronger than rest of league.

27 Sep 2018 23:16:13
'Headlines' and foolish bravado based on lies and delusion, by the hun-press is ideal fuel for Brendan and the Bhoys - as if we needed any more motivation to know what has to be done.
It will take a lot more than the establishment, biased, bigoted media, fake news and fixture jiggery pokery to get in our way.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 08:31:20
Last night was a minor improvement lads, we really need to start taking chances. Still think it’s going to take a few weeks to sort this out.

Surely we will be appealing that red card considering some of the decisions we’ve seen this season? Can’t believe that was a straight red.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Sep 2018 09:18:07
Don't think you can appeal dissent and after watching it back the player is out of order.

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Sep 2018 11:26:07
No doubt he should have given it a rest. But when have we ever seen a red card for having a go at the ref? There’s no consistency. So you’re allowed to kick people but not shout at the ref? Come on.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 11:49:25
I think there were a good few positives last night - although we should have won by five or six easily.
We totally dominated the game - against a club BT kept reminding us, hadn't been beaten there since February.
We created much more chances than in recent games although like the Sevco game the keeper had a 'worldy'.
BR saw what needed tweaking and made the right changes at the right time, instead of waiting and hoping.
Hendry showed a big improvement when called upon and Morgan looked dangerous and linked up well with KT.
Finally, the goal celebration showed how much it meant to the LG, the players and manager to get back to where we should be.

The negatives were the missed chances, some slow build up in the first half - especially when Broony lies deep and the red card.
However, I will say it was another very one sided performance from the SFA representative once again, but we expect that every week.
Not saying Boyata was faultless, but that's two red cards in two away games on the trot; whereas other teams have players kick out or stamp on Celtic players and go totally unpunished; hhmmmm.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 07:16:47
Right if they switch one of the games to murryfield then it will be ours.

My reasoning behind this is that there is No way they want hearts, Aberdeen and The Rangers fans all hitting the train stations in Edinburgh and Glasgow at the same times.

It's a certainty we will be the ones shafted in this.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Sep 2018 08:25:30
How is playing at murrayfield being shafted? Better stadium and better transport links.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 08:32:19
100% kev. As soon as l heard it l thought lovely that's Celtic off to murrayfield. Typical anything to try stop Celtic win.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 08:44:09
It would make absolute sense for us to go to Murrayfield it's a unique situation that has developed. We shouldn't be moaning about 1 trip to capital when all other clubs travel to Glasgow every year. It's going to be more interesting to see if powers in charge have the balls to make the sensible choice bearing in mind they've only just shunned Murrayfield.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 10:28:41
Because hearts have been using murryfield quite a bit in recent years so not years.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 10:57:07
kev when was the last time a semi final was played at murrayfield? Dry your eyes and see it's a logical move not bias if it happens. It's not fair to play a match on Saturday for Celtic or rangers so why make 3 sets of fans travel when it's better and more logical to make 2 sets of fans travel?

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 11:13:18
Jim what has when a semi final was last played there got to do with it?
Hearts played home games there untill November last year.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 11:17:22
Careful jim1972, common sense is frowned upon on here ☘HH.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 11:35:14
Why take hearts fans out of edinburgh and put rangers and aberdeen fans in edinburgh where they will all meet on transport links getting in and out of edinburgh 🙃. Would it not make sense to keep hearts in edinburgh and rangers in glasgow, that way its only us and aberdeen that travel. Surely that's a victory for common sense 👍☘HH.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 11:52:11
Kev did you complain when Celtic rented Hampden years ago and semi/ finals were still played there? Would you complain if Celtic drew Queens park in a semi final? Like I've said it's the logical solution but sadly some like yourself clearly can't see it. What would your solution be as one League match is already being postponed just cancel another match and cause chaos to fans all over the country?

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 15:56:12
cancelling scheduled games should never be taken lightly. There are supporters who plan holidays etc. with games in mind as well as other family commitments etc.
Some supporters save for years to make that one big trip to watch their team play.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 22:39:18
A don't think anyone planned a semi final years in advance when they don't know if we'll even get there let alone the opposition we'll face. I do understand your point but these are exceptional circumstances since a 6 year old club have made the europa league group stages 😀.

I wonder if the Chinese club Rodgers rejected is the same one that was trying to buy Morelos for a Billion in Jan.
Or is "Chinese club" just a modern football term for "This didn't really happen".
Why is this being made public at this particular time?

He is trying to say he is committed to us. Because the media are all saying he is for the off. So he came out and said if wanted out he could have gone.

Thought we battered them second half. Their goalie made at least 3 great saves.

Thought we were in for a what's the goalie Doing moment at the end. Bain got lucky when he came flying out.

27 Sep 2018 14:53:42
I could swear that some posters here, condemn Gordon for not coming out .

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Sep 2018 22:45:40
Chris we want a keeper to come out and make sure he at least challenges for the ball, bain got caught in 2 minds. Concentration is a major attribute for a keeper, aye he had hee haw to do for most of the game but that was a moment of madness.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Sep 2018 13:12:26
Maybe Sstepbhoy2 you now understand that the Celtic defensive tactics is depending on the defenders taking care of the ball. Our tactics involve goalkeeper not having. a moment of madness and charging out blindly for ball and distracting defenders . This tactic is common wit some successful teams and other successful teams leave ball for keeper . What u can't do is have both defenders and keeper going for the one ball.
Commons does what he is coached to do.
