Jack Wiltshire on way out from Arsenal, would Celtic spend even bigger.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - Jack Wilshere wouldn't get in our team.}

16 Jun 2018 20:38:53
The guy has glass ankles.

Agree0 Disagree4

16 Jun 2018 20:39:21
Agree 100% - wasted his potential.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jun 2018 21:11:09
Big name syndrome is alive and well.

Agree0 Disagree1

16 Jun 2018 21:48:33
Wiltshire is good enough talent wise to get in a number of teams considerably better than Celtic. But to do that would require him to be fit for most of the season.

Agree1 Disagree1

16 Jun 2018 22:15:21
He’s an over rated waster.

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Jun 2018 02:49:38
Turvey your blinded by average players mate, your league is seriously over rated. Average players get payed obscene amounts of cash to play Sunday league football, the sooner sky leave the better for football as a whole.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jun 2018 08:44:18
We don't need big name players we need better players than what we have already. Especially at CB and RB then we could maybe compete in Europe.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jun 2018 08:51:50
When you think of players who had problems with injury/ fitness was there anyone better than Paddy McCourt. What would he have been worth had he been playing 90 mins every week. Guy was a genius with a ball so many classic goals for Celtic.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jun 2018 10:06:46
Paddy McCourt, seriously he only played good against the lower level teams

And even then it was a few glimpses here and there.

I’m not sure if we paid a fee for him but if we did he it was a waste.

Agree0 Disagree2

17 Jun 2018 11:08:53
He was worth it for the song alone.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jun 2018 11:29:03
He couldn't lace Rogic's boots.

Agree4 Disagree0

17 Jun 2018 11:42:55
Not comparing him to anyone past or present. Talking about quality players who were unfortunate with injuries/ fitness. McCourt was a great player blessed with wonderful skill. As for only doing it against the lesser teams, the entire league is lesser teams.

Agree1 Disagree1

17 Jun 2018 11:54:21
In all the years reading this page before posting myself i don't recall it ever being so bad for negativity. How has success created this doom and gloom whether it's discussions about past or present. My enjoyment of this page is coming to an end i am sad to say. God help us if we end up like it was in the 90s one read of this page and people would be jumping into the Clyde like Lemmings.

Agree3 Disagree0

17 Jun 2018 13:41:10
Jack Wilshere? He is absolutely garbage, i would not take him on a free transfer. Overhyped due to his nationality.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jun 2018 17:44:26
A very good friend of mine told me that he likes a different coke from the one that Ferguson fell out with McLeish Ed

Is that right? 👍.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - There are rumours that some of the time Jack Wilshere has missed through injury was to cover failed drugs tests and even a drug problem. It's a bigger problem in the game than a lot of people realise, Jamie.}

17 Jun 2018 22:53:05
I'm not surprised by that at all. Infact I'd be surprised if most young players don't do it, it leaves your system so quick that they'd be unlucky to be caught.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jun 2018 01:36:23
A mate of mine who stays in London told me the same story Jamie, but we can't talk as 3 strikers who played for us in the 80s were famous for liking a toot on the Nikki Lauda lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jun 2018 22:01:27
We are getting as bad as Rangers2012 posters, a negative post against our club going back to either the 18'80's or the 19'80's about un- named players, leaving all our strikers in the '80's under a cloud of guilt.

Good on Iceland population 3mill over to u ebt man.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

16 Jun 2018 16:37:38
Population 3 million? Don't think so, it's nowhere near that.

16 Jun 2018 16:46:14
Population 300,000.

16 Jun 2018 17:43:42
It's unbelievable what they have achieved in football considering there's less people in they're country than there are in North Lanarkshire. Time to start eating skyr, rotten fish and puffin eggs.

Jeezo var and the ref still gets it wrong.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - I'm totally 100% against VAR being used. The rules of football are supposed to be universal and the same for every team and player, so why should a WC, CL or Pub League game be decided by VAR while a team in the lower leagues might miss out on promotion because of a wrongly disallowed goal or a penalty not given?
The rules of the game should be same at every level, next we'll have the Sunday morning Da's videoing their kids games and using the footage to contest the ref's decisions.}

16 Jun 2018 12:43:54
A can of worms that should have remained shut.

16 Jun 2018 13:06:00
Quite right Ed.

{Ed007's Note - Thanks.}

16 Jun 2018 12:35:53
Spot on ed watching the Aussie game never a pen for france and that's after var.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jun 2018 13:46:27
It's wasting the game in my opinion. How can u be celebrating a goal n keep one eye on the ref to be told if it's given. Crap.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jun 2018 16:02:35
Some of these games are going to end up with 10 minutes or more extra time because of it.

Agree0 Disagree2

16 Jun 2018 16:11:50
I think it’s a penalty tbh. The follow through catches Griezmann’s heel for me.

Agree2 Disagree1

16 Jun 2018 18:35:28
Cuts out honest mistakes. I support it. Nothing worse than a cheat or a bozo costing you games.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jun 2018 09:31:12
Sorry Ed, have to disagree on this.
I am sick to the back teeth of players cheating.
THEY know they are cheating and the result could be a team being relegated, a manager sacked, players put on the dole, clubs going broke, and let's not forget the effect on those supporters who spend their hard-earned money to follow their team around the country and Europe. (large outlay to see your team cheated) .
I have even heard pundits calling it "gaining an advantage"
Your point about level playing fields is fair enough to a point.
If ALL the teams in any single division are playing by the same rules then the playing field is level.
If a team is promoted into a division where VAR etc is used then it will apply to them and they again are part of a level playing field.
The ref cannot see the game from all angles and VAR helps him.
The follow-up to this (imo) is to punish the cheater really hard and maybe stamp it out.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I am 100% with you on this TT. Having VAR should make match fixing more difficult as well.}

17 Jun 2018 13:13:10
If only it had been around to catch that cheat Thierry Henri.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jun 2018 15:21:20
Having Var will make match fixing easier . The person who asks ref to have a look has great powers and just maybe could see the need different if there was a £100k package awaiting him.

Chelsea fan here.
I wondered if any of the Eds knew what the problem was with Musonda and your manager?
We had a similar scenario when he was at Swansea and didn't play one of our kids .
I know Musondsa can be a bit moody but he hardly got a kick at Celtic even wirh the titlein the bag.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Musonda's attitude and work rate wasn't what was expected of a Celtic player. Chelsea wanted Musonda to come up here to get fit, stay fit and grow up, they see him as very immature and they wanted him to work on his decision making during games whereas Musonda thought he was coming up here for a stroll in the park - he isn't the first and won't be the last to underestimate the Scottish game.}

16 Jun 2018 12:54:33
Great post that Ed.

Agree1 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - Cheers, Stan.}

16 Jun 2018 14:09:08
Spot on Ed and Stan, players with his attitude just make the job of recruiting players for Celtic so much harder .

Agree1 Disagree3

16 Jun 2018 15:29:59
You only have to compare Musonda and KT gents, both 21. You have one guy who probably thinks he has done it all, and one who is playing regulary for his club and country, has captained both and is winning trophies year after year. Although he did release a good statement i think the fact Musonda deleted all things Celtic including the players from his media acccounts shows how immature the boy is. Good luck to him though when he came i expected big things from him, hope he kicks on next season and gets game time somewhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jun 2018 16:02:50
Apart from attitude, he was simply too lightweight to play. He looks as if he is about 8 stone and got bullied off the ball too easily.

he clearly has some skill, but he really needs to be stronger for the British game.

Probably handle England easier as many of their teams don't play as physical as English teams once did.

Overall though, he would suit a foreign league much more.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jun 2018 16:22:56
It's almost impossible to compare a player like K T who is fulfilling his child hood dreams, playing full time permanently for his team and another youngster who feels he was sent to play for a club to show how good he is and pick up match experience, it is so difficult for some youngsters to fully settle at their temporary home and in their mind everyone else is to blame for their non progression .
Nothing was ever going to get in K T 's way not even a broken leg.

Agree0 Disagree2

16 Jun 2018 17:30:26
The difference in attitude is what has led to one being settled the other being a football nomad. I have no idea if Musonda will make it long term at Chelsea but he is never going to settle going to a different club every season. Reminds me of Islam Feruz.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jun 2018 17:57:01
Thanks Ed 007 can't say I am surprised and its a problem with quite a few of the talented kids at Chelsea unfortunately.
Too much money too soon doesn't help the situation either.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Islam Feruz, what is he now, 22? And where is he now?}

16 Jun 2018 21:07:22
He's at Swindon Town on loan Ed. Strangely he is still under contract at Chelsea. I don't even think he started for Hibs when he was there he came on a few times from the bench and made no impact and his year long loan was cut short early. Very surprised he is still on Chelseas books.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I didn't even know he had been at Hibs or I just forgot. Ach well, he's minted and that's all that mattered to him.}

17 Jun 2018 11:13:48
Biggest waste of talent I've seen in my life. I'm sorry Tommy Burns ever set eyes on him, he wasn't worthy of his time.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jun 2018 12:30:29
Funnily enough just read Scotland under 21 player Harvey St Clair has left Chelsea to join Serie B side Venezia, citing Liam Henderson as "a great example"

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jun 2018 07:55:19
Great to see Ed signed
I'm maybe in a minority but I'm not fussed how much we've spent on him, cheaper the better- more money for more quality players
Hopefully defenders that match KT for passion and quality

Any word on Timalloy ed? Was he not having a procedure?

Get well Timalloy
The dark side pages aren't the same without you!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I e-mailed Tim but I haven't heard back from him yet.}

16 Jun 2018 12:57:26
Am same island. I don't care if a player is 10 million or £10 as long as he can do the job. The best players I have ever seen in a Celtic jersey cost very little.

Agree1 Disagree3

16 Jun 2018 16:17:50
I think it’s more of a symbolic thing. I’m not overly fussed how much Édouard cost but breaking the record shows that the club are willing to push the boat out IF the right player is available. A lot of fans wouldn’t have believed that until yesterday.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jun 2018 16:25:50
Sure it is damn all to do with us. The board sets the net spending targets and we don't have any influence . The Board wants the club to do well, just as us fans.

16 Jun 2018 19:23:22
Cheers ed, let's us all know if you here anything

Your maybe enjoying the break!

{Ed007's Note - Will do mate and I've dropped Arrowh an e-mail to see how things are going with him.}

{Ed007's Note - Will do, Stephanie.}

Wow. seems Matt McGlone has had a Ratners moment. People sueing for slipping on wet ground is laughable, but to drag Celtic in?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 Jun 2018 11:27:10
I must say I’d never heard of him til your post mate but check his Twitter, he says the quotes are sensationalised.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jun 2018 12:01:28
Seen it mate, thanks for that. Well he should sue the rag that printed it. Surprised Matt would behave like this, if substantiated, remember Matt from Celts for change days and never seemed the type. Also might burn his bridges with merchandise, that's his game. ED. You've met him, surprised?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Yeah I'm surprised by this too, it's not like Matt at all.}

16 Jun 2018 12:47:28
It is all starting to look a bit sleekit. looks like he thought it would never get out. Seems his tees sell well maybe wanted some Celtic official connection? Getting pelters for it now.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jun 2018 14:12:23
Badly advised But I would have thought Matt was clever enough not to be taken in by the smell of a few pounds instead of his live long Celtic love.

17 Jun 2018 11:16:50
Surely a man of his age and intelligence doesn't need advised chris.

He's usually fast at replying on social media but when a few points are asked he's went silent. His merchandise £££'s will take a huge hit as GJ said. Im sure many of us have tripped or fell at some point over the years in the stadium (Numerous times for myself).

The age of "Where there's blame there's claim "scenario. i've never sued the club when slipped on a pishy floor in the bogs or fell and hit my head of the stairs (Usually the pain is countered by the drink! )
