There's a possibility that Development Squad hopeful, Jonathan Afolabi could be on his way to Dundee in a loan deal. He had a previous loan deal with Dunfermline last season and could be joining up with Daniel Church who is in talks with the Dens Park club after his Parkhead release. Afolabi's contract is due for renewal in 2022.

At the start of last season he was fastracked with Frimpong and big things expected, he got a knock which set him back. Another loan will give him game time and experience and hopefully he can come back to challenge for the first team squad next season.

Latest name to be rumoured with is danish left back casper hojer for 1.5m

Taylor's done ok so far but I think most fans want someone else in there with more speed who can take a man on and hit the byline the way tierney did. If we get someone half decent in there then I reckon it's been a pretty good window for us.

Either way whether it's him or doughty we need another good left sided wb/ lb and it a decent window for once.

I still think Christian Atsu is coming in this week.

Taylor works very hard for the team and has been much more consistent than a lot of other players. Just because he is not KT, supporters are picking holes in his game while under-performers escape criticism He does not make the same mistakes or cause as many problems as when Bolingoli was playing and has made several assists and scored a goal. However, I do agree we need two players for every position; ideally with other attributes to vary our style and shape for each opponent and a fast, tricky left sided player would balance the squad.

Think you're right Mally. A LWB with pace is what many of us have been saying since this window opened. If we get someone in that fits the bill and rotate him with Taylor, it could take the pressure off Taylor and help him as well as the team.

What has Taylor got to do to prove himself. He has one goal and 8 assists in just 29 games comparable with KTs record. On Sunday he would have scored bur Elyounossi got in his way, His one decent chance to cross was faboulous it was just a shame that no one was able to get on the end of it. Frimpong put the it over the bar at the back post.
Frimpong is very young and none of his crosses was anywhere near as good. His final ball was hapazard, now be clear I am not anti Frimpong he is young and still learning, he can become a very good player but Taylor deserves credit too for what he has achieved.

Jonace, Taylor had a good game yesterday as did the rest of the team and if it's 4 at the back, in Scotland, then he's yer man. He was pash midweek, loves a backward pass and cannot beat a man. If NL is going with wingbacks then he needs a LWB with pace and that's no Taylor. I'm sure there's plenty of supporters wished he was KT.

Atsu no chance he'd a winger and not what we need . taylor does ok so the new guy is there to compete and we really need this one.

Rich T, aye I do, he is most definitely the back up if we don’t get the Charlton boy, Hammond has Everyman and his dog out looking, they have left it too late.
Mallay your right he’s a flying winger, for me that’s ok because Taylor is a full back, nothing else, and he’s a decent full back so what we need is a left winger.

I've always thought Taylor gets far too much criticism. He is a much better player than a lot of fans are willing to give him credit for and I don't understand why. He gives everything he has in every game and when the rest of the team are playing total piish it's unfair to single him out as not being good enough. HH.

Just remember that KT played further forward in the Development Squad before Ronny D tried him as a defender.

Few good valid points made here, my own opinion is though that we do need an upgrade on that left hand side.
I'm not comparing taylor to tierney in the slightest, all I said is I think we need someone who can take his man on the way tierney did. Taylor has his own qualities and hasn't done a great deal wrong, after watching him in games though I just feel he lacks the willingness to take a man on and plays far too many back and side passes which results in our play slowing way down.
It's good that it's been pointed out about his assists and chances made, he gets himself into great positions and does make decent runs in behind at times, I just feel there's more of an upgrade required.
