Mikey Johnston has signed a new deal till 2023.

1.) 20 Nov 2018 19:52:58
can he play right back?

2.) 20 Nov 2018 21:09:38
Steady happy will be on to you.

3.) 20 Nov 2018 22:31:15

4.) 20 Nov 2018 23:55:06
Along with grumpy, sneezy and dopey. that right mally.

15 Oct 2018 13:37:56
Maloney set to be named Belgium's new assistant manager.

04 Aug 2018 10:06:29
We are apparently looking at Scott mckenna. Not sure what to think about this one myself.

1.) 04 Aug 2018 10:17:34
I thought he looked a good player last season, done well for Scotland but showed up badly against Burnley the other night and vastly over priced by Aberdeen so i’d be surprised if we sign him .

2.) 04 Aug 2018 10:29:30
I’d have probably taken him over Hendry at the time but not sure about now. Boyata and Ajer plus one of McKenna or Hendry would give us an incredibly inexperienced defence.

3.) 04 Aug 2018 10:45:31
I’d have McKenna at celtic if the price was right. Still think we need better tho.

4.) 04 Aug 2018 10:49:21
Some Celtic fans will want to burn the board at the stake if we sign him.
Hendry is a better player and they don't want him.

5.) 04 Aug 2018 10:57:45
It’s a fair point though kev. We would be as well using biting at CB.

6.) 04 Aug 2018 11:06:21
Wins his share of headers, brave and a natural left footer. Also came up the hard way. If the cash is right take him.

7.) 04 Aug 2018 11:39:58
More than likely an unsettling tactic from smsm for the visit of the sevvies to pittodrie tomorrow.

8.) 04 Aug 2018 11:49:49
Dasa could be on to something there. I think he's a solid enough player would rather we signed him over Hendry.

9.) 04 Aug 2018 11:51:02
Bang on Dasa they will do anything to help that mob.

10.) 04 Aug 2018 12:37:15
Dasa I think could be bang on. I'd take him but we need experience in there as well.

11.) 04 Aug 2018 13:54:17
Read nothing but the board getting hammered for not bringing in CL players and now McKenna is a popular shout? I'm outtie.

12.) 04 Aug 2018 16:55:40
We hear the same story from the board every season regarding transfers that it’s quality over quantity and that quality is hard to find.
My opinion of the board has been us the fans have been short changed when it comes to our transfer dealings.
It’s the same every season we wait till the last minute to sign anyone, why can’t we sign players early and bed them in to pre-season so they are ready for the start of the season.

I know it is not always easy to get players in early with players going on holiday etc, but surely we target players from jan to the next transfer window, but the way we do our business seems to me we are bargain hunting and just trying to get players on the cheap instead of going for any real targets.
It just frustrates me as a fan cause we have the making of a good team, but just need that extra bit of quality in defence that could make a huge difference in Europe.
We must have most the champions league money still in the bank as when you tally up what we have spent and what we have brought in on player sales their is only a difference of a couple of mill.
Yes the board deserve credit for a lot of things they have done right, but also deserve to be criticised for not being ambitious enough.

13.) 04 Aug 2018 18:50:48
I’m sorry but McKenna from the games I’ve seen him play has been nothing more than an average player. If we are going to be bringing in a CB (if someone leaves) . I’d expect better quality.

Ralston and Bain both need to be given a run in the team. Both been superb.

1.) 19 Jan 2019 19:02:50
Bain yes, Ralston no.

2.) 19 Jan 2019 19:07:10
Ralston played well tonight
Deserves a run.

3.) 19 Jan 2019 19:13:09
Ralston man of match the boys rubbish eh dafa bet.

4.) 19 Jan 2019 19:16:10
I don't think you can judge any player after that game. Airdrie were dire.

5.) 19 Jan 2019 19:44:28
Ah daftabit after I pointed out last week that Seamus Coleman was a right back and therefore wouldn't be coming to take KT's place you must have info that he is in fact coming to take Ralston and Lustig's place. hahahahahah Have you started baking that humble pie you want me to eat?

6.) 19 Jan 2019 19:45:53
Agree lawman, Ralston looks very poor defensively.

7.) 19 Jan 2019 19:46:26
Top end SPL clubs would walk through him.

8.) 19 Jan 2019 19:52:45
Thought Anthony was the best player on the pitch, and to be fair he gives everything.

9.) 19 Jan 2019 20:59:08
Donjim, what has Kt got to do with the RB position? Stick to watching Aberdeen SON.

10.) 19 Jan 2019 21:07:05
Both Ralston and Bain deserve a chance. Not purely on today’s performance but anytime Bain has played he’s never let us down and looks so composed with the ball at his feet, distribution compared to Gordon is night and day. For dafabet to slaughter Ralston is laughable. Thought the boy done well today, and in my opinion in hindsight should have started at Ibrox instead of lustig who has been poor for long enough although I’d still like a more experienced RB brought in.

11.) 19 Jan 2019 21:54:02
Ralston was good tonight and has been since he came it. Bain is a must.

12.) 19 Jan 2019 22:49:18
They both deserve their chance and this is not just based off of today.

13.) 19 Jan 2019 22:52:15
You can say Weah is class some finish.

14.) 19 Jan 2019 22:57:26
Gerry the boy Ralston done nothing whilst out on loan last year. Going forward he looks ok, defensively he is poor and will cost us points in the SPL. Nowhere near good enough for the first 11.

15.) 20 Jan 2019 00:00:49
Daftabit you must have forgotten what you wrote on 3rd january and posted in "Celtic Other Posts" section, its still there for all to see

03 Jan 2019 17:23:57
Bhoys I am hearing strong rumours that Shamus Coleman is Celtic bound possibly part of a deal for KT.

21 Dec 2018 17:56:54
Hearts and aberdeen have said they are willing to help fund VAR for the league. How would everyone feel if celtic said the same?

1.) 21 Dec 2018 19:25:56
It still wouldn't work as whoever monitors the screens would be accused of Celtic or Rangers leanings. Every VAR decision against them would be cause for A Statement!

2.) 21 Dec 2018 19:34:27
Reply to Cory 67 personally if I won the lottery I'd pay for it tomorrow myself yes we know it's not foolproof but I'll tell you this, over a season we would Definitely benefit from it, and every Tim knows it would. BRING IT ON.

3.) 21 Dec 2018 21:21:43
I think we should too. It will prevent a lot (Not all) mistakes by refs. There will always be fans screaming bias, and there will always be mistakes but this cut out the most obvious ones. There needs to be a clear review process along with it when there disagreement. But for me it would be a step in the right direction.

4.) 21 Dec 2018 22:20:22
Do you not still require the ref to call for var to get involved during the game?

{Ed007's Note - And who makes the decisions, ex-refs, current officials etc We can all argue whether if it's a penalty after watching endless replays so at the end of the day it still comes down to the exact same officials' decisions. Would you trust Hugh Dallas Snr to run the VAR department? Bobby Maden on VAR duties at a TRIFC game with Baby Dallas on the pitch reffing the match?
If the Bundesliga need to sack their head of VAR for all sorts of shady stuff going on what chance has Scotland got of getting it right, it also opens up LOADS more avenues for match-fixing etc for gambling.}

5.) 21 Dec 2018 22:33:35
I would only trust it if oab was in charge 😂.

{Ed007's Note - Him and Tam Boyd 😂😂😂

6.) 22 Dec 2018 01:29:32
It’s one thing to describe a bad call as an ‘honest mistake’ when a referee has to make a split second decision but it would be difficult to justify it after a panel of ‘neutrals’ had looked at it in slow motion several times and still got it wrong. I say bring it on!

{Ed001's Note - you might want to go look at what has happened in Italy and Germany then. It is just as easy then, because the officials can use numerous get out calls, such as it wasn't a clear and obvious mistake so they just won't even look at it or say they haven't looked at it.}

7.) 22 Dec 2018 09:16:36
Hi Welshy; V A R stands for Vilify All Referees - (in Scotland) lol Catch up with you all on the 'live chat' later.

8.) 22 Dec 2018 09:51:09
Haha joke of the year goes to pud! Rangers or celtic leanings haha.

9.) 22 Dec 2018 10:38:21
I think he’s only calling it The the rest of the teams see it.

10.) 22 Dec 2018 11:39:55
If it's var the ones making the calls couldn't make wrong ones because it's not a split second decision and would be sacked if they did. its a yes from me.

11.) 22 Dec 2018 00:12:35
ok Ed, I guess you are not for then?
I would be ok if the paying customer (crowd) saw the same clip as ref at same time while HE explained his decision.

{Ed007's Note - I just think it's pointless as it's the same people still making the decisions, watching it again only backs up their initial decision as well. Would football fans accept a VAR decision as final if they still thought it was wrong?
The ref explaining things to the crowd's never going to happen.}

12.) 22 Dec 2018 16:23:48
Here's the thing. VAR is coming. We all know it it, so we as a club better be at the front battling to make sure it's fine right.

13.) 23 Dec 2018 03:05:01
Ed, how would the panel explain the Morelos goal at Tymecastle? If nothing else, it would sort out the erroneous offside decisions and we wouldn’t have to hope that they might even themselves out over the course of the season.

{Ed007's Note - They wouldn't need to explain anything because that's not what VAR is for. It would only cut out offside decisions if a) the ref called for a VAR review and b) the ref overrules the linesman's decision (what would that do with moral between our officials). Can you see many Scottish refs watching a VAR review and then holding their hands up and saying they got the initial call wrong?
What if the ref looked at VAR and decided Morelos goals stood, would you accept that it was onside then - after all the super dooper VAR confirmed it to the ref? What people don't seem to grasp is that it's still a human decision, it's still the same people making the decisions except now that will be able to say that he did review a decision and VAR actually strengthens the ref's case for making the initial decision.}

14.) 23 Dec 2018 11:29:35
I get that it still comes down to the decision of a person but I think when it is blatantly obvious, as in the Morelos goal, it would be difficult for that person to justify. I’d like to think that it might develop in a similar way as tennis has developed to allow each player a pre-determined number of challenges which would take out the dependence on the referee calling it into play.

09 Dec 2018 16:09:00
With brown likely to get less game time, perhaps even leave in the summer, and the obvious need for a new rb. will Tierney be captain next season? Is he ready?

1.) 09 Dec 2018 16:33:30
Can't see Brown leaving tbh.

2.) 09 Dec 2018 18:04:52
He's more than ready Cory67. His development has been frightening and I believe we'll really struggle to keep him beyond 10IAR.

26 Nov 2018 09:10:51
So the police are blaming celtic players celebrating for the fans getting crushed at the last sevco match, and want to put an end to laps of honour. it clearly has nothing to do with 50% more fans using the Janet street tunnel.

1.) 26 Nov 2018 10:16:23
They didn't blame the players for the crush.
They blamed them for inciting the fans of The Rangers.

2.) 26 Nov 2018 10:28:57
Either way still stupid. Rangers fans can't behave them selves and celtic get the blame.

3.) 26 Nov 2018 10:32:47
Good think we have a strong Plc that will be out fighting our corner. Hold my breath for the awaited report.

4.) 26 Nov 2018 12:00:25
The crush was before the game. The Rangers cut our ticket allocation and Celtic reciprocated. Their loyal fans therefore had to be held back after the game (literally) for safety reasons.

When we were celebrating it just got all too much for the travelling Govanites as we serenaded them and had it not been for Strathclydes finest they would have invaded the pitch and got to the Celtic players ironically at the same corner their previous club once did a huddle with not a word said.

Truth is the Govanites came to the Land of the Timites that day smelling blood after our fairly poor start to the season and when they were once again smited, couldn’t handle it. Nothing to do with the Celtic players celebrating. A misrepresentation of the facts by Police Scotland. The bottom line is, if you can’t go and watch your team getting pumped by the club that represents all you despise without losing the plot stay in the house.

But in fairness I would like to express my thanks to Stevie G and his travelling hoards for giving me the best laugh I think I’ve ever had at the end of a game as they were forced to watch our celebrations as a result of there own actions and subsequent reduced ticket allocation.

5.) 26 Nov 2018 12:59:39
The players go round and applaud the fans after every home and away games. They can't control their 'Battle Fever' 😂😂

6.) 26 Nov 2018 17:26:45
To be fair it’s always the Celtic players fault anytime there is trouble. Manchester, Scottish cup final against Hibs, the 2 fans getting stabbed in Glasgow few months back, fighting with Wigan fans in city centre, attempted attack on Scott brown, LG nearly hit with DD batteries, young boy getting racially abused in a Euro away game and finally their fans running onto park to celebrate a late goeal against Partick thistle. I’m sure there are plenty I’ve left out but Celtic board need to get a grip of our fans for causing all this trouble.

7.) 26 Nov 2018 19:39:08
This seems a very similar reaction to the one that followed crowd trouble at Ibrox in 1941 when the decision then was taken to close Celtic Park for a month.

8.) 26 Nov 2018 21:44:23
LG’s Buckie bottle yellow card.

Papers today dragging up 1980 cup final and the more ‘recent’ high Dallas coin!

That was 20 years ago!

9.) 27 Nov 2018 11:20:49
The fact there was only 800 sevconites and nearly the whole sevco end was mainly tims. the players had every right to go to that end of the ground. the boss was right it's up to the sevco fans to behave . they should be used to getting pumped off us by now.

03 Sep 2018 10:47:09
On a serious note guys. What happened before the game? Just seen a report of fans getting crushed. Not what you want to be hearing.

1.) 03 Sep 2018 11:22:15
Saw that. 5 injured, 4 of which were ok and went into the game. The one taken for treatment fell from the wall he was climbing.

2.) 03 Sep 2018 11:37:29
Was poor planning by all accounts but there will be meetings and plans in place for next time.

3.) 03 Sep 2018 11:46:02
I got caught in it . it was carnage absolute shambles.

4.) 03 Sep 2018 12:57:40
Aye Mally my old man had my ticket and he was there said it was pretty chaotic until a security gauard opened an exit and let people in but he ended up in green brigade section instead of 406.

5.) 03 Sep 2018 13:12:26
Exactly mate it was crazy first time a can remember this happening.

{Ed007's Note - Remember that it's the first time those segregation arrangements were in place with only 800 of them being there. It's obviously been a massive cock-up with the police/stewards but it'll will be sorted out for any future similar situations.}

6.) 03 Sep 2018 14:36:08
I passed thru that tunnel at 10:50 yesterday morning with my son in his wheelchair and it was already getting hairy so it should have been obvious to police an incident was likely as there is always a late rush at Celtic park on big games.

7.) 03 Sep 2018 15:11:07
It's scary. Thankfully no one was seriously hurt. Anyone think this could mean the away allocation could be put back up to normal if that is part of the reason?

8.) 03 Sep 2018 15:23:17
The sole blame lies with Police Scotland and the Gold Commander for game. Shockingly bad strategic plans that put lives in danger. Club has put trust in Police to keep us fans safe and we have been let down. Police Scotland must be made accountable for.

But there's no excuses. They can't say they only have split second to see it, they get the replays like us and if they still fail then they have no where to hide.

{Ed007's Note - And? Beaton had a clear site of the Morelos incidents, do you think fellow referees would overrule him using VAR? He said he seen them clearly and even weeks after it he still says he made the right decisions - VAR would just back up his opinion. As we've seen they don't need to hide now so what difference will VAR make? What if VAR decided a Celtic player should be sent off for something the ref didn't think was a red card offence, would you be happy?
If VAR can lead to match-fixing accusation in the Bundesliga think how easy it will be in Scotland even compared to now?
The suggested system is different from the one we seen at the World Cup where the ref looks at things again, now it'll be a panel of refs & linesman and probably become jobs for the boys for retired refs. Even when VAR has been used there's still wrong decisions being made so what exactly is the point of it? It's just another opinion being given that we can all argue about - or is VAR's decision final even when it's wrong?}
