Martinez apparently out of running for manager? So his agent says.

1.) 12 Apr 2019 10:53:51
Same was said about AVB but that’s been quashed and there is potential there. I doubt Martinez will come after the comments from his agent. But I wouldn’t rule out AVB. Was a shock when Brendan Rodgers came in let’s not forget about that. I hope we push the boat out again. Would be an absolute joke. Lawwell and the board need to set the standard required higher now and if they don’t do that they will fail again and we will be caught. Lawwells job is to make the investors money. After the increased investment in the club from that London firm I expect us to move forward with a better manager than Lennon.

2.) 12 Apr 2019 12:18:05
The London mob bought their shares from other share holders so I don't think there was increased investment in the club from them.

3.) 12 Apr 2019 12:36:34
I didn’t mean to come across as if they were investing more kev. My bad. I mean they will be expecting more from the club surely if they are wanting to be the main share holder? I may be wrong but that's the thoughts I had on it. Our stock has dropped recently has it not?

{Ed007's Note - Lindsell Train don't want to be the main shareholder. They're an investment company and have no intentions of getting involved in the running of Celtic, Juventus or the WWE.}

4.) 12 Apr 2019 13:54:32
They said when they bought them that they think we have potential to make them a lot of money if we get our own broadcasting rights or move to a better league.

5.) 12 Apr 2019 18:33:31
Daz, apart from the bookies and the media who said Martinez was ever in the running to begin with? HH.

6.) 12 Apr 2019 19:19:59
This is bollicks made up by the press theses guys won't look at our club it's nonsense.

Lyon are in talks with Celtic about Dembele, on sly news now.

{Ed007's Note - Lyon and Schalke have both now shown interest in signing Dembele.}

1.) 29 Aug 2018 15:33:48
At least if he's going to go there will hopefully be some serious cash thrown at us. It's up to the club to reinvest it properly.

2.) 29 Aug 2018 16:02:08
Yes with about 3 hours to spend it.

3.) 29 Aug 2018 15:39:59
Well if he is going let’s gwt a bidding war started then 👍.

4.) 29 Aug 2018 15:40:43
If he is to leave, as is looking very likely, what do you think the transfer fee will be? I have to say I'd be gutted to see him go this week.

{Ed007's Note - I think that'll depend on if there's a player coming in as part of the deal, if not reports are it'll cost between 15 - 20 million Euros to buy Dembele and I'm certain that Lawwell will be looking to add clauses.}

5.) 29 Aug 2018 16:12:41
They will get 20 million or something for him and get Shane long on a season long loan.

6.) 29 Aug 2018 16:27:15
If we don’t sign 4-5 players after getting that 15-20 million then I give up. Starting to hate Lawwell with a vengeance. He makes my blood boil.

7.) 29 Aug 2018 16:30:31
It sickens me that we'll sell that kind of player for £15-20m. Don't get me wrong it's a lot of money but when you see the 'talent' that goes for far more down south just doesn't sit right.

8.) 29 Aug 2018 16:45:07
Lyon got nearly €50m for lacazette I think.

€15-20m is a bit disappointing to be honest considering we turned down £9m for Boyata.

9.) 29 Aug 2018 16:56:46
That’s less than what Leciester paid for James Maddison. Remember the boy who was average at Aberdeen.

10.) 29 Aug 2018 18:04:31
Maybe we might see about getting Solanke in on loan? We was after him before he went to Liverpool and hasn't had much of a look in. At least he's versatile too and can play in various positions I'd prefer him to Long and I think Liverpool are open to loaning him.

11.) 29 Aug 2018 18:45:05
Don't think we will be loaning anyone from Liverpool because they put MUST PLAY clauses I the contracts.
If they don't play it costs a fortune.

{Ed007's Note - That was only in the Grujic deal to Cardiff City. Obviously Liverpool would prefer all clubs to play their players but not many deals involve that kind of clause.}

12.) 29 Aug 2018 19:26:36
The done it to Bristol city when the boy Kent was there and supposedly the 2 at rangers and the boy Woodward at Sheffield as well ed.

{Ed007's Note - I'm only going with what Ed001 told me.}

13.) 29 Aug 2018 19:31:45
Apparently Marseille tried to offer Clinton N'jie plus £xxxx for Dembele, Lawwell said no. HH.

14.) 29 Aug 2018 19:43:10
According to reports Bristol had to pay between 300 thousand and 500 thousand.

{Ed001's Note - they paid a loan fee, that's all.}

15.) 29 Aug 2018 19:51:23
Dembele house is up to rent, must be moving somewhere.

16.) 30 Aug 2018 07:54:56
I think solanke would certainly get plenty of game time anyway here if he'd the moussa replacement.

It'd be a nice GIRFUY to a few into the bargain too.

Liverpool actually have a ton of stockpiled CFs I'd take, sturridge, origi not bad options too.

{Ed001's Note - Liverpool are looking to get one off the books. Preferably Origi permanently, but Solanke on loan is a possibility.}

Youth cup final tickets not for public sale, that's scandalous.

1.) 13 Apr 2019 18:22:02
It's a sad state of affairs mate. Just a select few at the game all because of a few neds fuelled up on the alkypops and MD. The authorities are a shambles for allowing this. A showpiece final televised with no supporters.

2.) 13 Apr 2019 20:21:29
I don’t quite understand this. When there are 60000 at a first team Glasgow Derby, there are fuelled up neds in attendance but the police/ stewards normally keep things under control. Why would it be any different for the youth teams?

Celtic confirm signing of BAYO, on sky news 👏 looks a good player HH.

BR is a fan as well as a manager, even though he's outed the board I'd find it hard to believe he would walk away when he's on the verge of, dare i say it, "10 in a row".

1.) 25 Aug 2018 08:34:23
He will be off at the end of this season at the latest unless there is significant investment. Don't fool yourself thinking because he is a fan he will stay because he wont.

2.) 25 Aug 2018 08:46:10
The 'verge'? Take it easy mate a long long way till that happens. This ten thing is becoming a noose round our neck like when we had to win to stop rangers (il) . The here and now matters most at this time.

3.) 25 Aug 2018 09:39:27
if we don't get 10 it will be down to the boatd holding tbis great club back from progressing from strength to strength.

4.) 25 Aug 2018 10:32:46
Yayo its not the Board. We have had the funds to go out and build a team. Our wage bill is £57mill. Aberdeens wage bill is £9mill. Hibs and Hearts about the same. Eddy cost £9mill and before you tell me we sold Armstrong for £7mill, what does that matter? We are spending more on 1 player than every team in the SPL (Rangers apart) have spent on their entire squad this transfer window. Just think about that. Rangers have built an entire new team for £9mill, so wake up. BR has been backed and backed again. Major mistakes was to spend £9mill on Eddy before he spent the money on 2 CB, s. We could have had 2 CB, s and McGinnfor £9mill. We should then have sold Boyata for £9mill to Fulham and we get all of our spend back. then we would not be having this discussion. These are decisions BR is making and he has got it totally wrong. BR is getting away with it because he has highlighted his need for players to the Board via the media. What the Board could say is that before BR came in our wage bill was £32mill, now its £57mill last season and will be £62mill this season. The thing is a mess, and it was avoidable. I can't see the point in BR pressuring the Board with his comments regarding transfers. I think he was out of order. He is a great coach but in my opinion he has dropped a big one this window. There may be things behind the scenes that went wrong we don't know about but you can't just say its the Boards fault because they did not just keep giving BR more money? Where does it stop? How much is enough. Well in most businesses its enough when you spend more than you generate and we are at that point. BR needs to get on with it. He has a squad that are paid more money in wages than Aberdeen Hibs and Hearts turn over in an entire season yet here we are wirrying that we might not win the SPL. Give me strength.

5.) 25 Aug 2018 11:58:34
No way our player wage bill can be as high as £57m a year.
Don't know how many first team player we have. but say we have 30.

10 on say £25.000 pw = £12.5m
10 on £2o 000 pw = £10m
10 on £15.000 pw = £7.5m

Player costs. £30m

Brenden/ coaching staff. £4m
Think I have been generous with players wages.

That's a total off £34m on playing and coaching staff.

With Celtics near £100m turnover last season I think Brendan should be more demanding with the board.

{Ed007's Note - Our wage bill is £52 million a year but remember that covers every single employee at the Club not just playing staff.}

6.) 25 Aug 2018 15:00:58
So there you are Bennybhoy. Ed says £52mill but that was last season. Its going to be £57mill this season. So now what do you want us to do? We will turnover about £70 mill and wages alone £57mill. Then all other costs on top of that. Its not sustainable in the long term. So how has BR not been backed. As i said our wage bill alone is more than Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen turnover. We should be out of sight every season which to be fair we have been for 7 years but adding more to the costs?

7.) 25 Aug 2018 21:14:39
dazbhoy. What do you mean when Brendan is outed?
I never thought that Brendan's outing was on the cards.
