Happy new year to ED and all the other contributors on here ( including our resident/ swaying loyalty sevconians that post here) , your families, dogs, cats and any other beings held hostage in your abodes under the pretence of being pets/ loved ones

Gotta say i was impressed with sevco yesterday, best i've seen em play, i think we allowed em to play as well as they did however as our defence was pretty poor but fair play for em stepping up a bit against the big club, they played like it was a final and almost got a result through our sloppyness. That said it could easily have been and perhaps should have been 5-2 to us.

Think we missed Rogic yesterday he would have ripped em to shreds, there was loads of space between midfield and defence that mcgregor didn't step into and armstrong only did in 2nd half.

Dembele had a cracker after his goal what a player we have on our hands there, He showed he has a bit of everything in his locker yesterday (apart from missing a sitter) . Almost scored goal of the season too.

Overall benn a good start to the season. Embarassment to the red imps (although i suspect there were a few bets on by DD and PL too build up our funds on that one) my only real blot on the report card.

I loved a comment from Brendan the other day about the accies game where he was talking about players getting into passing lanes, i've noticed it a few times and it really is great to see our players being aware of these sorts of things, long may it continue.

All the best to you too.

I can't confess to having seen that much of them, but I thought it would have been a great game for the neutral, so fair play 'gers in that respect. Anything they can do we can do better though, and we only really turned up after half an hour, which was still more than enough. And I felt that was them at their best mind.

Sinclair and Dembele could have got a hat trick each, another day. I think Broony (again) deserves a bit more credit than he's been given, possibly MOTM for me, but I'm biased.

No real grumbles from me (worth causing a stir about anyway) . It's more about the attitude of the club as a whole, that's all I'll add to that.

Must admit was surprised at how well The Rangers played, or appeared to play, the gulf in the difference between the teams became more obvious the longer the game went on, like a cat playing with a mouse, teasing, taunting, before delivering the blow that emphasises the differences between the two adversaries.

Agree2 Disagree1

02 Jan 2017 10:05:27
I think we were a bit wary of them in the first 30, letting them play and allowing Barry McKay to get a few runs which built his confidence up. For what I've seen of Sevco this season and going with the comments from their support, their first 30 was their best football of the season.

After that though it was a game of shootie in and there should have never been any doubt about the score. This mob cannot compete with us, we are a million miles ahead of them and counting, the gap is becoming a chasm. If things had continued then Brendan would simply have changed formation to suit as we did at Motherwell.

If we strengthen in January, we should have the league dusted early to let Brendan tinker with the team to get the perfect squad. CL qualification is now our biggest goal of the season. Without it, we will level out to where we are now. Dominating Scottish football is incredible but the CL is where the experience and glamour ties are.

I know Izzy gets his fair share of stick and likely had his worst season ever in the hoops last season ( but who hadn't) I believe so far this season he's had his best ever and has gone beyond the form that interested Liverpool. WTF is Wallace big Chris :-)

Izzy was great yesterday am glad he stayed, it's good to have someone so good to stand in for kt.

Agree2 Disagree2

02 Jan 2017 00:31:32
Think it's a bit far saying he was great. He was badly at fault for the goal and a couple more times in the first half.
The second half he did improve like several other players but I can't wait for KT to return.

01 Jan 2017 23:53:06
I like izzy, but thought he was to blame for they're goal yesterday.

Agree2 Disagree1

02 Jan 2017 01:56:10
Cannot agree at all that izzy was great yesterday! He was exposed on more than one occasion and the goals his fault! The reason he wasn't as bad 2nd half was because we were forward more! And as for this is his best season ever, uve got to be kidding! Izzy has been a great servant for us and before his injury a few years ago was outstanding! But KT can't get back Kwik enough for me!

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Jan 2017 11:56:10
Maybe great was takin it a bit far, he got beat by a nice pass for the goal but the cross beat another 3 men to get to miller. The whole team had a poor first 30 mins. He's always been better going forward. The point a was trying to make wae he's been good cover for kt. Obviously we would all want kt back as soon as possible.

Was great putting that lot in their place yesterday second half our class shone through they had their wee huff and puffs but the amount of opportunities we had, it could've been another big massive doing.

they had millers effort near the end but that's all ifs buts and maybes. the bottom line is we won again and the press and their management can sugar coat it all they want.

they are way behind us. the gap is getting bigger and they can spout on about all the targets and loans they may get. We will add a couple of quality players each window and they will get the dregs that's all they can afford.

Don't know what your thoughts are guys but anyway happy new year folks I really do think it's going to be an exciting and fun 2017 βš½πŸ€.

Bigp, the crazy thing is that their supporters really think they are close to us. They judge the entire thing on how many goals they lose to us. Got beat 5/ 1 first game so a 2/ 1 defeat in tbeir minds shows progress. They totally ignore the 19 point gap in league points its only about results playing agsinst us. We have won 15 in a row. They have won 4 in a row so where are we in comparrison. Let me tell everyone here. Rangers will never come back to beat Celtic over a season unless CL qualification gets drastically changed and that will affect our model then we are going to struggle cash wise just like them so that is their only hope. Even if they finish decond tbey will struggle to qualify for Europa league. If the ststus quo remains they can never come back as long as we don't bring in rookie managers and we invezt as we have done this season. Its only our to give away.

"a shout came from the crowd" A SHOUT"FFS there was 47k people there. Also the direction the shout came from would have been pinpointed if it had came from a certain direction and not so generalised.

A wasn't at the game n couldn't hear it in the pub. But I heard from someone who had no reason to lie that a sevco fan shouted fenian bastards just before it started n got a small reaction. Anyway it's all hearsay. But ed u were spot on when u said there'd be loadsa zombies wae there fones out during it. Very respectful.

Let's face it - they are absolutely RAGING that they don't have anything to get upset about and deflect from their performance, did you see the Celtic fans even left wee scented candles in their toilets? :-D

ED007 I can confirm they are all raging that they have nothing to deflect away from their awful team as bigot in a suit was all ready to go with "Celtic fans tarnishing the minute's silence" and to back it up the Scottish Sun had it on it's Front page today, but like you I LOVED the scented candles ha ha.

May a wish everybody on here a happy new year all the best everyone just watched a reply of the game there and after a poor first half hour we came right back in the game and totally dominated there after a thought for being on a yellow card most of game brown was fantastic the incident where miller was going to kick the ball back to our keeper but he wanted a 50/ 50 where we had the ball sums him up a fantastic captain after a poor season last year when even maseslf was on his back thought mcgregor had his best game in a Celtic top yesterday and hope he continues to get better each game and he could become a very gd player definitely nds to improve his shooting though Armstrong again this boy has definitely made this position his on now great attacking mid scores creates runs wi ball and has great engine could go on all day but absolutely delighted they we we're going great team on the park and great infrastructure off it wi the best fellow fans in the world hh everyone and just let it all sink in as times like this r what following Celtic r all about.

@ UJ : seen you posted about the minutes silence being disrupted at the game, here's an update for everyone, my oldest sons pal ( a rangers fan ) was at the game and he posted that the fan who shout was less than 15ft away from him in the rangers end, the guy got pelted from he fellow rangers supporters and quite right too, that anyone should disrupt or disrespect it.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jan 2017 14:23:43
@cprs1 - I think the quote that's in all the papers / online definitely came from the Rangers fans and whether he's directing that at something that supposedly came from the Celtic end beforehand is still wrong in my eyes.
For anyone to break a minutes silence in respect of someone who has lost there lives at a football ground - well there is no hope for them. I always think would you like your own loved ones disrespected in anyway?

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Jan 2017 14:56:49
UJ first of all Happy New Year and all the best for 2017. Let's get a bit of context here regarding the minutes silence. The level of observance was remarkable particularly after the anti-catholic sectarian bile that was directed towards us before being asked for 'respect'. One fud among 7500 visiting TIMS shouts a daft comment to which some fud in your end replied 'I hope you die'. Let's applaud the 7499 that paid there respects despite listening to what we'd to listen to before and after the minutes silence. I posted on here stating that anybody who didn't feel they could listen to sectarian abuse directed at them then rise above it to observe the silence should stay away. Don't think the moral high ground is yours UJ πŸ€.

Obviously going to miss the Bhoys over the next few weeks as they take a very well earned break but what a special parting gift.
This is not the best Celtic team I have ever seen, but what we have here is a manager and players that know exactly what's expected and demanded every single game and this kind of consistency and team spirit has not been seen at Celtic for many years.

To be unbeaten after twenty league games - with a cup in the cabinet on NYE is almost unheard of and any other team would have probably had a New Years honour lol - but to win every single league game in such a demanding December schedule will go down as one of the clubs greatest triumphs.

There were some tired players out there yesterday with a few defensive lapses at times, but the way the team came back and outplayed the home team after an early setback was an indication of the confidence and superiority that epitomises Celtic today.

What's more is that BR is still building and improving the team and there is much more to come - and it feels absolutely fantastic!
