Lots of stuff on all sorts of media regarding Roy Keane - in the knowledge that DD will still call the shots on any new appointment, I would expect Keane to absolutely be in the mix but I doubt we are anywhere near a conclusion on this.
If it's him then let's get on with it and at least give him a chance, I know it wouldn't be the first choice for many/ most but who do we honestly think we can get or indeed have the vision to approach.
I've always wanted Martinez and Maloney but it's not going to happen.
Gut feeling is it will be Maresca or Keane, whichever it is will get my support.

Whatever your thoughts on the rights and wrongs of today's press conference by NL nothing has changed from where we were yesterday - our season on and of the park has imploded so dramatically it's beyond belief.
NL may indeed have had some relevant points but the way he came across was in my opinion undignified and not befitting the professionalism expected of a Celtic FC team manager or indeed any club employee.
I was genuinely taken aback by what I was watching and didn't really know what to think.
After taking a bit of time to watch again and digest all his points my overwhelming thoughts are was this a genuine, heartfelt defence of our club or was it actually the act of someone desperately trying to deflect us all from the real issue, the fact we have given up the league with a whimper under his command. Maybe it was a bit of both?
Everyone, both pro and anti NL is entitled to their opinion - I just hope we can all move forward together positively again, the bad feeling around the club has gone on too long. NL deserves to be remembered for what he achieved at the club not for the negativity of this season.
The rumours of Howe, Desmond, Rangnick or anyone else coming in at whatever level are only that. just rumours, until those in power make difficult but necessary decisions.
I only hope that whatever decisions are made it can be done in a dignified way for everyone concerned and done with a bit of class please.

Firstly I agreed with the team selection today apart from perhaps Taylor (What has he done wrong? ) in before Laxalt. The first half performance was excellent only lacking that bit of luck or a deflection. The sending of absolutely changes everything in the game and we then lost any rhythm we had and it was a forgone conclusion after that.
The fact is however we aren't where we are tonight because of a debatable red card in an old firm encounter that we dominated, it's because of our poor form in Europe, the league and of course being embarrassed by Ross County in the cup.
The responsibility for our position is and always has to be down to our team manager NL. I genuinely wanted him to prove me wrong but we must now reflect on where we are, not only as a team but also as a club in general.
New and forward thinking people need to come in on the board and in the dugout.
The team proved today how it can perform during the first 60 mins, with a new manager and coaching team in place it can reenergise the players and we can start the rebuilding process immediately.
Thanks for everything NL but it's now time.

trouble with a lot of the fans who write in here have never seen a really bad celtic team think it is a god giving right to win every game. They never saw the teams i was brought up with in fifties and early sixties when we where nearly relegated. i have never enjoyed celtic so much in the last two decades. as for a new manager we have the best we can get just now even the last two months is far from the worst i have seen. i still think the tide will turn rangers standard are going down every week still think we will do the ten get behind the team the manager and the board and keep supporting the celtic cause we will come good.

If the manager we want is available the change should be made now, work with players second half of season oversee clear out and recruitment and be prepared for pre season training.
This season is a write off.

Hi Ed. tried to post earlier so maybe a duplicate, if so sorry mate.
This is probably out of left field but.
Just wondered what you thought about Martinez and Maloney after the euros. I get the fact they wouldn't consider a move before then but they would bring a long term professionalism and modern approach.
If they are successful at the euros I know Martinez will have his pick of jobs but maybe a 2 or 3 year spell with Maloney the succession plan beyond that would give us long term stability. Maloney seems to be a real student of the game and knows his tactics inside out. who knows, can only dream eh?
{Ed007's Note - I don't watch international football so I don't know what Belgium set up like but I remember when he was at Everton our Everton editor (Ed025) and Ed001 used to speak about how poor he was at setting up & organising the defence. A flying Celtic can get away with that though and it would be an interesting appointment plus I don't think Martinez would dismiss it out of hand, even without Maloney he knows what Celtic and Scottish football is all about.}

Long time reader but first time poster. As a long time supporter who has lived through the barren years and therefore has absolutely no "entitlement" attitude, the current situation at the club absolutely staggers me. I have no issue with being beaten by the better team in any walk of life. What I do have an issue with is the gross mismanagement of our club from top to bottom and on the playing side especially the complete and utter failure to sustain any kind of challenge in any competition so far. I have never been completely convinced by Neil Lennon but I genuinely thought because of his service to the club he was the romantic and right choice, irrespective of the totally unprofessional way he was appointed, to get us over the line to 10, or at least be able to manage a serious challenge. Any other manager at any other club would have left the building by now either on their own accord or by being relieved of his duties. Neil Lennon is no more entitled than the fans are to win every competition but what the fans are entitled to is to have their club run in a professional manner and that means having the courage to make difficult decisions. the time for these decisions is long overdue.

Looks like a fair bit of money going on Kennedy being appointed, not sure whether it would interim or long term. Please tell me the bookies have got it wrong again but absolutely nothing would surprise me.
