I see that we have a massive war chest of 10 million quid, i suppose the new manager will have to be very crafty in his signings, fees and wages will not go very far on that amount. i just hope the players we have respond to the new ways of a new coach and show us that they can actually handle the pressures of being a club that SHOULD be making the group stages of the CL because this kitty dosent tell me that's what the board are striving for.

1.) 12 May 2016 18:10:55
You would hope that figure would be on top of any fees received or wages saved from departures though seeing as 'all moneys are invested back into the team'. The amount we're spending as as good as I would expect to be honest. It's just how JP whispers into PL's ear how to spend it. And so far that hasn't changed!

Won't be Moyes, Rodgers or Keane if that's the case .

4.) 12 May 2016 20:11:12
I don't know why anyone would even suggest that we will be bringing in players until there's about 10 sold.

5.) 12 May 2016 21:24:40
Where did you hear the figure was £10m?

6.) 12 May 2016 22:17:15
To the OP, therein lies the problem. If you win the league you should be straight in, as in champions. look at this years final, neither are champs, bit of a joke if you ask me, but money rules

7.) 12 May 2016 23:17:19
JimTim the money is invested back into the CLUB not the TEAM. Mr Lawwell is very careful to make that distinction.

8.) 13 May 2016 06:23:33
There is a link on celtic news now to a Lawell interview telling us of the ten million.

9.) 13 May 2016 13:01:14
True that kev mind.

10.) 13 May 2016 16:30:39
So if NB, SJ, lustig, effe all go that will be well over 10m so that says to me underinvestment. That's not counting if we shift fringe players and their wages. 10m doesn't sound as good when you take other factors into account.

11.) 13 May 2016 19:25:07
so if the budget is £10m when we buy a player for say £3m PL will tell us all that it is actually £5m as he likes to add in the players wage.
we will end up with 2 or 3 average players and a couple of has-beens like Cole and CKR

VERY EXCITING!

12.) 14 May 2016 08:11:30
That's what I was trying to get at rglen. My pal yesterday was having a laugh at me, and Packie's comments that the new boss should get 20-30m. But if the club have 10m set aside already for investment, and we manage to shift a few (by a few I would shift a dozen) - I don't think 20-30m is actually that ridiculous.

So the talk down here in welsh Wales is Rodgers has signed on the dotted line at Swansea. As far as i'm led to believe the deal was in place before Ronny handed his notice in and the money he is ment to be on is roughly 5 million a year, we cannot compete with that. Swansea a team that not long ago played in the 3rd devision in England.

Peter Cardiff

1.) 09 May 2016 10:47:10
Looking past the fact the guy comes across like a bit of a bell, I quite rate Rodgers and would have been relatively happy to see him given the chance. There are people more educated about him on here than me though, Ed001 in particular, that have brought to light some weaknesses and criticised him though so I did take that on board. I guess the wage packet and percieved credibility of working in the BPL scuppers us again as you say, if is is true.

2.) 09 May 2016 11:04:46
I think Rodgers and Moyes are holding out for jobs in England with big pay cheques attached, nothing to do with football, forget them both.
I posted a few days ago I would like Di Matteo, with Clark as coach. Someone else I would be happy with is Alex Neil and up and coming manager.

3.) 09 May 2016 11:44:22
I'd be happy with that too Timalloy that will definitely improve us. I read somewhere we're offering Keane £15m transfer kitty if he is to sign?

4.) 09 May 2016 09:36:33
I know what ED heard but I really don't think there was any chance of Rodgers coming to us, and the same goes with moyes! Would have been happy for Rodgers to come, think he would have gave us a massive lift! Think our next manager will come from the usual list that we see Lennon Mckay Clarke and the rest! Just wondering now the titles officially wrapped up how soon it will take to get announced! Any thoughts ED?

{Ed007's Note - I'm hoping something will be announced before the weekend and the new man will be introduced to the crowd at the Motherwell match.}

5.) 09 May 2016 12:58:20
I wouldn't imagine that would happen that would indicate a quick cheep appointment and using the feel good factor to mask such an appointment but you never know in football.

{Ed007's Note - It's not a quick appointment if the guy is not currently in a job and considering the CL qualifiers start on 12/13 July, that's only 7 weeks away come this weekend, we need to get the new man in as soon as possible after RD leaves which is this weekend.
If the board aren't even close to making a decision by now then they're letting the fans down again.
Season ticket renewal deadline is the 27th of this month and the board need to move pretty quickly if they hope to encourage people to renew.}

6.) 09 May 2016 16:13:43
Just rumours from tw@tter I saw yesterday from a couple of people. They said a new man to be announced on Friday. Hopefully is true tho I won't hold my breath.

7.) 09 May 2016 17:35:03
That would be great but can't see it apparently the word in Walsh is that Rogers is due to sign in at Old club Swansea done deal they say.

8.) 09 May 2016 19:41:46
Without nailing your colours to the mast Ed, do you have any idea or thoughts who it may be

Hail Hail.

{Ed007's Note - I'm still thinking it'll Brendan Rodgers.}

9.) 09 May 2016 23:19:42
He's a curious one that Rodgers. His Swansea team played great and attractive football, he had a seriously good period with Mourinho at Chelsea and his early time at Liverpool was great. Then it all went a wee bit Pete Tong for him at Anfield and people quickly forgot about the good stuff he had achieved and could only remember the problems with Liverpool.
Jeez, I just wish they'd appoint someone asap and not leave it to the last minute and then blame that for an early Euro exit :- (

Hail Hail.

10.) 10 May 2016 00:25:55
I think that it could be Moyes his body language and smiling away when asked about the Celtic job on tv seems to me that either he has been asked about the job and is just waiting for it to be either sealed or for it to be announced by the club so I think Moyes.

I'm not sure why their are so many fans that are against collins the last time i seen people celebrate someone leaving this much was Jock Brown, I didn't think Collins was the best man for the assistant job but he got it and prob done the best he can and maybe that wasnt good enough no need to celebrate him leaving.

Peter Cardiff

1.) 10 May 2016 08:13:22
There are a lot of rumours about him being two faced and causing disruption within the club and also undermining Ronny.

2.) 10 May 2016 09:17:36
It's rumours kev not necessarily facts if you've heard them then surely Ronny has heard them? If he thought he was being undermined then tell us why Ronny would talk highly of Collins and give him big hugs? IMO it was the tactics/ selections by Ronny that got players disheartened and Ronny admitted he had too many players to keep them all happy not necessarily the coaches fault. I wonder if Kennedy is going to go as he was part of our defensive failings or is he the golden child with no failings.

3.) 10 May 2016 09:52:29
I must admit that I liked the thought of Collins coming in with RD. someone who could get across the demands of the job and what the clubs all about, but it just hasn't worked out. but people on here celebrating JC leaving is bang out of order in my opinion. all this I've heard rumours this and rumours about that, without actually knowing hee haw! This guy was a great servant for us through some tough times and he's came in and tried the best he could! Think he deserves a little bit more respect than what he's getting to be honest! Yes him and RD didn't work but to try and blame him for it not working is garbage! And if he was undermining RD so much then why was he touting him as his replacement last week?

4.) 10 May 2016 10:34:46
Is there any ex players the Celtic fans like these days? it seems everyone apart from Henrik gets abuse. loved watching Collins and McStay together they gave their all and scored many a great goal in an unsuccesful Celtic team. My first Old Firm was the 2-1 win at CP when Collins and Paton scored, watched the game on VHS so many times, Collins 7th goal of the season on the 37th minute. Stepped inside Murray and gave Goram no chance. Says Gerry McNee. Regardless of opinion or rumour you won't find me saying anything bad about the man. Maybe this week Collins should tell the players not to bother doing extra ball work and go have some burgers and pepsi instead. That might get us back into last 16 of Champions League.

5.) 10 May 2016 10:38:43
Everything about Collins is tattle tales and gossip. To give someone such a hard time for that is a poor show. There never seemed any unrest between RD and JC.

6.) 10 May 2016 11:23:41
Don't think there was unrest with jc and Rd. I think the unrest was with jc and some of the players.

7.) 10 May 2016 12:16:37
Marco
Why do you think this?

8.) 10 May 2016 12:22:40
Delighted JC is going along with RD. Good riddance to both. Combined they have taken us backwards for two years.

9.) 10 May 2016 15:26:39
The vast majority of us will never know what went on and a lot of the rumours would have been based on his spate with Scott Brown at hubs and the antics of Commons.
In his recent interview he did admit that the team were very disappointing in 'the bigger games' and for a team like Celtic, that is unacceptable and why they both had to go.
Hopefully some of the under-performing players that let themselves, the club and support down will also 'bolt'!

10.) 10 May 2016 15:32:51
He had a history of causing upset at hibs. And our captain was there when he was so 2+2 and all that.

06 Mar 2016 16:52:27
The only time its worth while setting foot in hampden is to be the sevco.

Peter Cardiff

1.) 06 Mar 2016 17:59:41
Agreed. Apart from the Sevco bit.

2.) 06 Mar 2016 18:53:14
Hope the pitch is better than last time which was an embarrassment for the whole country.

3.) 06 Mar 2016 20:34:27
Don't know how anyone can disagree with that. The pitch at Hampden for our game with them last year was a tattie field. I sat watching it on TV with my English brother in law who kept going on about it in comparison to Wembley and I had to agree it was a total disgrace for a national stadium.

{Ed007's Note - Isn't the Hampden pitch getting relaid? You're spot on about it being a disgrace that it's our national stadium.}

4.) 06 Mar 2016 20:45:56
Aye it is getting relaid for the League Cup final, so hopefully it does not cut up the way it did last year because it was a disgrace.

{Ed007's Note - I wonder what FEM Warbiola will make of it.}

5.) 06 Mar 2016 22:38:08
Whatever he thinks will be hailed as "absolutely, 100%, bona fide, correct"

Whereas, if our manager said it then it would be a different story.

{Ed007's Note - You forgot 'respectfully'.}

07 Feb 2016 16:52:00
I have been warching big Efe this afternoon the problem with him imo is he is flat footed he can't get a cross in and he can't get a proper tackle in when it matters i suppose its no his fault tbf.

Peter Cardiff

1.) 07 Feb 2016 18:54:00
And that's just his good points.

DesH i did say i only saw the first tbf, 2nd half could well have been another story. I was supprised at some of his movement if he keeps it up i would snub any bids and be happy to build the team arround him.

Seen the first have Rogic played well had a few runs in to the box, he had a few shots outside the box. He was energetic to say the least he was getting at england with his chasing down and running if Arsenal are watching ad say they would have been impressed.
