Aye? Dundalks answer to Paddy Mc Court. Much as I loved paddy, being from my County, he was never Celtic standard,

2.) 13 Nov 2016 13:42:59
Read that in the rags yesterday doesn't matter who he plays for just can he play and can he make the step up?

3.) 13 Nov 2016 13:59:08
Pardon my ignorance but who is he? And most importantly is he any good?

4.) 13 Nov 2016 19:11:32
TTTS
Paddy Mc Court's problem when he was at Celtic was that no other Celtic players could come near his ability or vision . His managers hadn't a notion how to use undoubted skills and so we didn't get the best out of Paddy .

By the way he is still scoring unbelievable goals, playing in the North of Ireland, as his wife was diagnosed with cancer when they returned from holiday.

5.) 13 Nov 2016 20:34:22
Old bhoy that's a lot of nonsense about McCourt. His lack of athleticism and stamina were what his flaws were and for a team like Celtic they are in the top bracket for things that must be part of the players make up. McCourt had skill but was more unfit than Tom rogic. Bad news about his wife though hope she's alright.

6.) 13 Nov 2016 19:09:27
Never seen him play any good or better than we have already.

7.) 13 Nov 2016 20:46:43
McCourt from what I heard was fond of a refreshment or 2! And his time on the training field was poor to say the least! While no doubting he was a magnificent talent and he gave us some magic moments he wasn't cut out to be a regular first team player for a club like Celtic! It was nothing to do with the managers he had! And I had heard about his wife's condition, I wish her and the family all the best.

8.) 13 Nov 2016 21:21:46
When he signed for us me and the family were on holiday and I bumped into an Irish bhoy from his home town and he basically said he had great skill but would never be fit, bhoy was bang on the money wasted talent.

9.) 14 Nov 2016 00:43:40
Paddy Mc Court only needed half the fitness because he had more than twice the skill of any of his team- mates . We have people on here now questioning the need for 24 hour althetic lifestyle and laughing at manager's who try to introduce it .
Surely when Paddy was playing for us m if our manager had anything ability to manage, he would have been able to develop a style of play to incorporate Paddy's undoubted ability .

Back in the 50's J Mc Gory had to develop a game plan which incorporated Charlie Tully leaving a pub in thee Gallowgate at 2.30 and Celtic fans getting him into a taxi .
I think Paddy was always fitter than Charlie.

10.) 14 Nov 2016 09:41:02
I was hoping that fall might have knocked some sense into you Chris ;)

That's garbage about Paddy only needing half the fitness. The fact he was only ever half fit at best is exactly why he didn't reach his potential.

11.) 14 Nov 2016 11:34:55
That's some story oldbhoy, I just picture Tully being dragged out of the pub and bundled into a taxi 1 hr before the game. back then footballers were a lot more approachable and a bit more tuned in to what's going on in the real world. The modern footballs seem to detach themselves from those who pay their wages.
Paddy is fairing out a lot better than the sewer rat Novo then.
Hope Mrs Mc Court makes a full recovery.

12.) 14 Nov 2016 12:33:50
Oldbhoy you need the right attitude to go along with the talent and that's what paddy lacked no desire to be the best and fulfil his undoubted potential, you can have all the skill and ability in the world but it's nothing without the right attitude and work ethic.

13.) 14 Nov 2016 20:51:02
Here here Mally I will second that. Chris there's no point in having ability if you can't apply it. 1 lung had fantastic ability but couldn't last 20 minutes just another waste of undoubted talent.

14.) 15 Nov 2016 14:53:44
I've been watching Daryl Horgan for the past two years - He's NOT Dundalk's answer to Paddy. He's maybe not quite as skillful but He's lightning fast even in Europe against the likes of Zenit and Alkmaar. Google his goal against Zenit. I'd expect him to make the leap very well and very quickly.

15.) 16 Nov 2016 00:34:57
Actually it was after 2.30 when Charlie left the pub . Celtic fans often pulled one or two fans that were already in a taxi and put Charlie in .

Paddy McCourt scored some of the best individual goals and assisted in great goals, that we have scored in the last 10 yrs . Our manager insisted that Paddy would cover back, that wasn't in his game . It was foreign to him . Unlike virtually every other Celtic player of the last 10 yrs Paddy offered enough going forward for the manager to see that his lack of defensive qualities didn't matter, and if he had Paddy would have been even more devastating going forward.

16.) 16 Nov 2016 07:16:00
He was injured more than he was fit btw where is playing now.

17.) 16 Nov 2016 20:45:34
Because of his wife's illness, he opted for Irish League and is playing with Glenavon.

A quick summary of what a know so far Celtic have upped their interest in James McCarthy but aren't willing to pay the fee that Everton want are still confident they can do some sort of deal if not like most clubs they have looked at other options Andreas Samiras has been looked at recently face competition from Middlesbrough though. Also learned that Rodgers is interested in bringing sheyi ojo on loan but Liverpool aren't keen on letting him go until they have brought in a winger to replace Saido mane who is off to African cup of nations. Been talk of izaguirre been offered a new deal told this is not the case he will leave with MLS likely destination park jo hoo has been looked at as seen as ideal back up for tierney. Sarder azmoun has interest from Celtic the striker is keen on a move as he sees it as a stepping stone to the premiere league. Intrest in jerry st juste remains,

St. Juste would be fab. Even as a CDM.

2.) 11 Nov 2016 14:53:40
I don't see this with the excecption of St Juste, Samiras is at Benfica and has 2.5yrs on his contract they will not let him go cheap and we won't pay big. Park Jo Hoo is 29 why would you buy a 29 year old back up Azamoun is again to pricy for back up striker.

3.) 11 Nov 2016 16:24:33
Samiras has been told he is surplus to requirements Celtic were scouting him recently at the benfica Kiev game also Rodgers signed toure and Dorus de vries proves doesn't just sign young players.

4.) 11 Nov 2016 17:28:06
Cfic 1 . How good are your sources? I would love to believe u but as Celtic normally play their transfer prospects close to their hearts, I find it difficult to believe these rumours . Maybe you can convince me of your credentials.

5.) 12 Nov 2016 07:43:10
Credentials on a rumour site are as rare as a black Trump supporter. Similar to Trump, fact checking is not usually an issue and talk of, "I know a guy who knows a guy" is as convincing as faith healing, not convincing in the slightest.

I hope we don't take McCarthy because the team I want is too good for him to get into,

I look forward to the plethora of insider information having the accuracy rate of my horse racing tipping using a pin and a Hail Mary. Maybe it's because I'm an athiest that supernatural intervention is thin on the ground though.

No to McCarthy for me.

6.) 12 Nov 2016 08:01:45
Cfc1 are you skinnbhoy in disguise and we know how his info worked out, but Mccarthy imo would be a tremendous signing exactly what we need in CM hopefully we get him in January.

7.) 12 Nov 2016 09:26:01
All am telling you is what a know wait to January judge my information then.

8.) 12 Nov 2016 12:22:12
Fair enough mate hope your proved right.

Celtic talking to Chelsea about loaning victor Moses Celtic would have to pay half his wages could provide a stumbling block Brendan Rodgers worked with victor at Liverpool sees him as a alternative option if he can't get Scott Sinclair.

I think Moses would be decent in the SPL with his direct running and overall ability, but I struggle to believe it with Griffiths, Dembele and Roberts up top? With the added players we already have. Would be decent but!

I watch West Ham a fair bit and don't rate him, good as a man short sometimes, he's like Forrest, turns up occasionally,

4.) 11 Jul 2016 20:41:51
Agreed, I go see the hammers 5-6 times a year and he was rank rotten.
