Musonda looks a cracking talent, so much pace and ability. Exactly the type we need to push on in Europe. He'll rip teams apart domestically too. Very impressed with this deal if we can pull it off. Do you think its close Ed and have you heard good things about the lad?

{Ed007's Note - I don't know that much about Musonda but I was talking to Ed18 - a Chelsea fan - about him last night and he really rates him and will be disappointed if he leaves, he was hoping he would get some first team chances this coming season.
As well as Celtic there's another team (could be Monaco) that have spoken to Chelsea about Musonda and Chelsea would really prefer a loan move but they, like many clubs, are faced with youngsters who want guarantees of game time or a move away.}

Lm. he's not got much first team experience behind him i think if he signs he will be played in slowly and European football could be a step above him at this time (would he not be getting gamed at chelsea if at that level? I haven't seen him ) let's let find his feet on spl first and foremost if Indeed he does sign . don't know if I've made this up but did I see pasilic of chelsea linked with us.

So we're spending 5 million on a player to bed him in? Really? If you can't get a game for Chelsea are you saying you can't play at that level . As much as I love last season and where Celtic are going, realistically do we have any player who would get a game for Chelsea . No shame in that.

Is this not the guy that's been playing for Real Betis on loan in La Liga for the last 18 months? Don't think he should need much bedding in playing against Killie, Thistle, Sevco and the likes.

Cheers Ed. Hopefully we can seal the deal. The way Rodgers was talking yesterday made it sound like it was almost done. He obviously didn't name him but don't think he would have been so open at describing the sort of player he was unless he knew for certain that he'd got his man.

Hope we get paired with Chelsea in the CL, to put to bed this inferiority complex that teams like Chelsea are so superior, I know they don't have any Maradonnas, or Pele's or Cruyff's or Bests or any genuine superstars in their team. they look better than they are because other teams give them and the Barcelona's of this world far too much respect, instead of attacking their weak points the other teams stand back in awe of being on the same football field as these overpaid, over hyped football mercenaries.

Agree with you LM. We need players capable of doing something individually, and he looks like he's got great ability beating a man. Needs to start adding a few more goals but at just 20 there's no reason he can't start doing that with Celtic.

Quite excited about this one he comes with huge pedigree, despite the price-tag he is still a project. But I'd be looking to put him in that RAM spot no doubts.

I think duverne has decided to stay where he is for another season kev! Sure it was Lille that bid for him but he didn't want to leave. mite be wrong but lol. would really like a quality centre back brought in but, thinks that's a priority! Like the look of this musonda, did quite well in la liga last year by all accounts. his goal return for an attacking player is pretty poor but to be honest! Has anyone actually confirmed that this is the player Brendan wants? Everybody is saying it's him, could it be someone else maybe? Lol.

Mally . stevie . most of his games have been as a sub. he has appeared in 24 games in two seasons . inexperienced . unproven? . not a dig at both of you as i haven't seen the boy . have you seen him for betis? Did he stand out? . Young boy new club big transfer (for us ) so yes bed him in. liam he hasn't played at that level yet.

Guys I am not too sure this Musonda guy is Brendan's target, he may just be laying a smokescreen for the press while negotiations with real target progress.
So far Rodgers has managed to get players signed BEFORE it gets out, so .

Sorry Tim like toure, Sinclair, dembelle, johnny Hayes and Doris de vries Sorry Tim I just don't buy all this Brendan's signings haven't been in the papers weeks sometimes a month before they sign the only one I can remember is the boy from Ipswich we just signed.
