Saturday's result was coming and is now over. The second last place I'd have wanted our unbeaten run to end. But yesterday's history. Let's get on with winning back to back trebles and giving the Huns a miserable New Year on the 30 December 2017. And if possible signing James McLean who I think could do us a job and as has been said would put a bit of pressure on Sinclair to keep his place. 👍☘️.

I think if he hadn't have got injuried he would have been first choice by end of the season stan.

He was certainly playing well Kev i'm sure he would have played a big part these last few weeks had he been available. Be like a new signing having him back involved.

See Celtics charity wing have announced they've raised 230,000 quid for Xmas charities well done all concerned great effort.

Chris Davies has just said that there won’t be much business over the Xmas window, doesn’t look like we are going to get the new defenders we all wanted . I think the squad needed freshening up as well.

After 1 defeat in 70 domestic games something needs to change . I think it is vital that the so called fans, get behind manager and players, stop the stupid ridiculing on posts and Twitter and moans and groans + shouts of abuse from stands . We are in the midst of probably one of best ever spells in domestic football and all some can call is for a complete overhaul of players.

Spot on Chris, the next two home games are really important. The fans must stay with the Bhoys. I’ve posted before that some fans (at home games) can’t wait to get on certain players backs as soon as they make a mistake. You can see it’s affecting the player, thus leading to more mishaps.
Yes, we need strengthen at the back and hopefully we’ll see a few new additions in Jan. But in the meantime let’s be the 12th man and give the guys our full support.

If your going to post what he said maybe you should post everything he said. He said we won't be overly busy but we will recruit where necessary.

19 Dec 2017 19:38:28
I disagree Chris. If we don't improve then the rest of the league will catch up in quality. With the likes of rangers spending millions of pounds every season, if we don't improve then eventually they'll catch up. I know I'll get a load of disagrees but it's simple logic. Hearts obviously figured out where we're weak and it won't be long until the rest of league figure out too, hence why we need to strengthen our weak positions.

19 Dec 2017 20:40:30
We've got the best squad, manager and coaches by far in the league. Any teams that think they've got us sussed better beware cos we will be spotting and exploiting their weaknesses far quicker and more effectively than they ever can ours. Mon the hoops, let's start destroying teams again now the pressure of the unbeaten run is off us. Drawing domestic games at parkhead somehow became an acceptable result just cos we remained unbeaten, it was a fantastic achievement by all involved but it was definitely weighing heavily.

20 Dec 2017 00:02:23
Robdoc we are streets ahead of anything in Scotland on and off the park. On what basis do you think anyone domestically will catch us up on quality in the foreseeable future? I know what you're basing your post on, one freak result against Hearts. Relax, we will win the league this season by a minimum 20 pts and secure the double treble. The only thing that could stop us dominating the league for years to come is a sugar daddy investing in Sevco and even then we now have the finances to keep dominating.

Agree1 Disagree4

20 Dec 2017 09:34:28
I have got to agree with Robdoc. We do not need an overhaul of plaeyrs but we certainly need to freshen things up with some quality in central defence and wide areas. Everyone can see clearly our performances have been pretty poor this season although we have still been able to meet most of our targets like Euro football after Xmas, winning league cup etc.

The amount of money generated by our fan base with season ticket sales in addition to the money we got for qualifying for group stages, we should be looking to invest a decent chunk of this in the squad. We should be looking to continually evolve rather than accept where we are.

Agree1 Disagree4

20 Dec 2017 16:44:41
I believe the fans have a part to play in keeping the team going. At times it is virtually silent but for the away fans. whatever happened to parkhead being a fortress with even big european teams being intimitaded by the noise.

So only a matter of weeks ago BR said that January would be an important window for the club and we will look to strengthen. Today Chris Davies says he doesn't expect the club to be busy during the January window. Wtf is going on. Are Brendan and the board in completely different pages?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

19 Dec 2017 17:18:10
Unbelievable! Rodgers said January would be our main window in terms of strengthening for the CL qualifiers in the summer.

Why does our board always fail to strengthen from a position of power.

Our transfer business since Rodgers arrival has been border line rubbish. Yes, Sinclair and Demebele have been great but he is mainly working with the squad he inherited. Questions marks still over his other signings; DDV, Gamboa, Hayes, Benyu, Eboue - mainly because he rarely plays them!

When is this board going to repay the fans and manager with some decent investment! I hope they prove me wrong soon!

The starting price for a young yet experienced footballer who wishes to enter the British market and eventually EPL is now in excess of ÂŁ10 m . Anything less and unless for the odd individual player we would really not be improving on what we have .

Agree1 Disagree3

19 Dec 2017 19:26:28
He also said we'd recruit where necessary. Why people are going mad is beyond me. Not even Xmas yet and people have wrote of this transfer window and using half a quote to slang the board and manager.

losing last Sunday has whetted the appetites of those who couldn''t find reason to complain during the 69 match unlosing run . They now have their abuse all stored up and ready to go.

Chris

Got to disagree with you on that. I think for one thing the issues with the lack of defenders BR trusts to play at centre half has been obvious since pre-season. This has been compounded by injuries and poor form of the guys who currently have the jersey. I would replace both for the next game but with who?

Also we get a lot of mixed messages from BR and especially Big Pete. Ed will join me in the “£6 million pound player” nonsense he used to spout every window and then we would end up with the cheap option. BR told us there was no point in a 3rd striker and then Eduard arrives a few weeks later. We were told last winter window we would build for the champions league qualifiers and we only brought in Eboue. Now people are saying that Davies is contradicting BR by saying this will be a quiet window. I don’t expect BR to be right every time but mixed messages at a time where we can all the see the team struggling is going to be annoying especially when it is as plain as the nose on Johnny Hayes face that we need to invest in a decent goalkeeper and a few defenders.

NiallH again you are o my focusing on half of what Davis actually said.
He also said we'd recruit where necessary.
Seems to me he means this squad doesn't need an overhall just a few positions need strengthened.
Which is true.

Niall Just to please u Celtic should have paid ÂŁ6 m for Compper and then u would have been pleased with B R &P L.

Compper deal looks done but I hope there will another CB coming in as he is inelgible for Europe. The odds are against us when we play Zenit but if we bring in a decent CB and get the team re-energised you never know what can happen.

Hope to see some changes tomorrow night:

De Vries

Gamboa
Ajer
Boyata
Tierney

Eboue
Brown
Ntcham

Forrest

Robdoc, lucky you don't have a role in picking neither our under six team nor our first team . In most of our domestic games this season our defence and team in general have played best with Britton in the team.

I always enjoy reading the various opinions on this site, but I can't help thinking that some of the reaction to Sundays defeat is a bit over the top.
I've read from some posts that Gordon, Lusting, Boyata, Jozo, Armstrong, Dembele, and even Tierney are not good enough and should be sold on, it almost feels that we are in a relegation battle rather than having just come off a 69 match unbeaten run.
Getting beat was always going to happen at some point, teams that aren't as good as us will always try to find flaws in our game. Hearts pressed us high up the pitch and forced us into making mistakes, it's an area where teams are targeting us lately, but that is what all good teams have to put up with, it doesn't make us a bad team.
Man City are playing some great football at the moment, but I bet that next season teams will have figured out a way to reduce their effectiveness, it won't make Man City a bad team, it's just that teams who can't compete with them for ability will find ways not to be overrun by them.
There is no doubt that we could do with being strengthened in certain areas, you always have to try and keep improving, but I think the magnitude of a 69 match unbeaten run should be considered before ripping apart the team that achieved the feat,

Believable7 Unbelievable3

19 Dec 2017 16:06:50
Totally agree with that. We didn't play well and had a bad day at the office. Also thought that the players didn't handle the pitch well as it looked soft and slippy. Nobody would have thought we could achieve a record run like that and four trophies as well as two five one victories against the new Rangers.
We should all get a grip and stop complaining .

19 Dec 2017 17:35:27
The defeat was coming for weeks. The players looked jaded and out of sorts. Some of them have played the 6 qualifiers and a few International games but tiredness is no excuse as we should have had decent cover to rest a few of them. Eric and a few others will be going in January and at the end of the season. A few defenders and a good keeper to challenge CG for the long-term.

To overcome the down turn in our recent form we must return to our high level of pressing all over pitch, from start to finish .
We have missed about 30 days when we could have done intense training, or practised new tactics . Ten and more games played August to December results in 30 lost days. We can't get those back, and so we must do our work on the actual pitch during game .
