Celtic have put up a fan survey. Sadly they didn't ask us to give our opinion on recruitment and the board.

I suggest you all go on and make your feelings clear.

Got as far as my postcode but it wouldn’t accept it and ended there. Pretty sure I know where I live!

02 Jul 2024 19:46:46
I’ve completed this weejoe
Plenty of opportunities to give comments on issues you might be unhappy with, I’ve given feedback on need to prioritise first 11, how poor the main stand facilities are, how poor the board especially Lawwell is, how the wage cap (which doesn’t apply to the board) has held us back in Europe.
Would encourage everyone on here to go fill it in.

02 Jul 2024 22:04:10
Did the same. Gives plenty opportunity to let them know what needs updating, replacing and improving, apart from the team.

02 Jul 2024 22:33:34
I mentioned that sitting in the corner beside the Jock Stein we can’t see the screen at all. We’ve asked so many times for a small screen to be put up, which there was in the past but got told they couldn’t. The PA system needs sorted too, as well as the WiFi.

02 Jul 2024 22:35:42
Chasaboy you need to leave a space between the two parts, not sure if that is your issue.

@maeda @ptfp ?.

02 Jul 2024 14:52:57
A month to ko a keeper is paramount get him bedded in. plus issues over idah and bernardo I dearly hope they've been working behind the scenes and some good news is imminent.

This time last year,
Celtic showed early signs which road we were going down, with Holm and Tilio signing on July 1st followed by Yang.

This year I’m expecting our new signings to be ready, to really compete for regular first team starts.
I’m sure Brendan will have highlighted exactly what he’s looking for.

02 Jul 2024 16:03:58
Mally if we signed a GK, Idah and Bernardo, at best we would have stood still from last season.

That is not to say I don't want to sign them but we need to improve our first team.

02 Jul 2024 13:19:04
Celtic board have 1 month to avoid a fan protest on flag day and a possible repeat of the unrest from the hearts game last season.

So far we are weaker than last season and we were pish last season. We have lost hart, Bernardo and Idah and signed no one.

02 Jul 2024 14:20:15
Joe, I hope you've communicated this to the board

☘️ ? ☘️.

02 Jul 2024 14:27:17
Last season we were definitely weaker than the previous and went to a difficult transition with a change of manager hampered by some very questionable and risky recruitment.
After an inconsistent spell which saw us exit a cup at the first hurdle and struggle in the CL we prevailed in the end with a double. My main concern is that The Board see this as some kind of vindication and carry on as normal.
I appreciate the 'window' has just opened and their are hundreds of players that have been involved in 2 main International tournaments.
However, it's imperative that the manager is listened to and fully backed as there is still much improvement required to progress.

02 Jul 2024 14:35:19
The Celtic Board played a dangerous game last season and got away with it.
We stayed just ahead of Sevco but with plenty of cash in the bank.

Our Board know that Sevco will regress again this season coming, for a 3rd season in a row.
But
The our fans want to win “The Celtic Way” and that includes being entertained.

I hope the Celtic Board back Brendan this time and that will allow us to play better and more attractive football.

02 Jul 2024 14:37:06
I always thought this transfer window wouldn't have much if anything happening for us, whilst the Euros are on. A lot of teams waiting to see how their own players and possible targets play before the big merry go round begins.

02 Jul 2024 15:32:29
Totally shocking that it's the 2nd of July and we haven't spent £20m yet or broken our transfer record twice!
Sack the Board, tell Brendan to GTF and get Hoopy to the Pound!

02 Jul 2024 16:10:13
Some good points raised there. ?

For the record I am not criticising the board yet. I was merely pointing out that if the board have not improved the team before our first league game then I can see there being a protest and if we got beat I could see some fans really turning on the board.

02 Jul 2024 12:13:42
Celtic have internally appointed a new club secretary.
She's been promoted after being employed with Celtic for over 20 years.

Hopefully our next appointment is an extravagant treasurer.

02 Jul 2024 13:09:39
I doubt this was the signing the Celtic fans had hoped for although I am sure we would all welcome such a treasurer.

02 Jul 2024 11:59:36

Mckenna.

02 Jul 2024 18:45:51
I would have either of the CB's of Slovakia. They are 2 monsters and are playing at average teams. They made Portugal look like amateurs.

Either is better than McKenna who is, as his recent national team performances show, really slow. He likes a tackle which will get him punished regularly in the SPL.

02 Jul 2024 10:43:09
Breel Embolo and Andreas Skov Olsen. That's 2 guys at the Euros who perfectly fit the profile of what I'd like to see coming in. Skov Olsen in particular. Easily £25m and £100k in wages though. Would we have the stomach for it? We should in my opinion. Worst case scenario you cut down on spending for a couple of windows.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Jul 2024 11:42:33
Embolo only scored 13 in past two seasons.

02 Jul 2024 11:56:36
Celtic refuse to pay £10M on a transfer and £40k a week in wages.

02 Jul 2024 11:58:16
Embolo got an ACL injury then after recovering got another injury, think that justifies his 13 goals.

02 Jul 2024 12:58:36
£25M would be a ridiculous sum of money for us to spend on a player and the wages are a definite no go.
With good scouting we should be recruiting players that will develop into £25M worth in 1-2 years. Orielly being the current example. I love that we look to sign players that will develop in a year or 2. The issue was we also needed 4 first team quality signings to allow these players to develop in the back ground or out on loan for a year.

02 Jul 2024 13:18:11
I meant £25m for the pair SoSBhOy.

02 Jul 2024 07:41:53
John egan available from Sheffield utd.

No no and no again.

01 Jul 2024 13:07:39
Folk are saying £20 to £ 25 million for Oriley.
To show how players up here are undervalued compared to down South.
Spurs are signing 18 year old midfielder Archie Gray who plyed in the Leeds team in the Championship for £40 million.

01 Jul 2024 14:28:17
English teams (like Southampton) know we are a great source of 'cheap' talent that they can profit on in the long run.
Our location, utter domination of the SPL and very poor European standing doesn't help us get proper valuations.
In recent years, two of our most big money sales were both over £25m for KT and Jota, so we should be looking at that for a marker.

01 Jul 2024 15:39:14
He's played cl and the starting price should be 30m or hunt them.

01 Jul 2024 16:06:02
50 million and 50 % sell on. greatest/ biggest / richest league in world. if rather sell him to athletico on the cheap than accept derisory offers from epl. and whether he's with it or not doesn't come into it. he's going to the "greatest" league in world so pay accordingly.

01 Jul 2024 12:14:25
I seen a video of Alex Miller scoring a last minute winner for Rangers at Celtic Park in 1980.

That was Rangers only victory at Celtic Park in 27 attempts over a 15 year period.

Rangers won 2-1 in their last Old Division One league game at Celtic Park in 1974.

The new Premier League started in 1975 and Celtic only lost one "Old Firm" game at Celtic Park until 1989.
( Joe Miller missed a late penalty for a draw )

01 Jul 2024 13:17:45
Av only ever been to 2 Celtic v Them games and 1 was that game and other was when Souness got sent off and a think if memory serves me right Billy Stark scored only goal. Rangers Fans smashed our bus window and av never been to and Old or new Sevco game since.

01 Jul 2024 14:19:29
My first “Old Firm” match ended in a draw in 1985.
That meant Aberdeen were crowned Champions without playing.

The title hasn’t left Glasgow in nearly 40 years since.

01 Jul 2024 15:02:05
The above game Celtic had goal chopped off for offside which clearly wasn’t if my memory is correct.

01 Jul 2024 15:07:33
Murdo McLeod had a goal chopped off which would have made it 2 1 to Celtic start of 2nd half. I remember a lot of anger coming out of the Celtic camp it was never offside and it cost us big time.

01 Jul 2024 15:44:32
It was a disgraceful decision Gaz.

The linesman flagged McGarvey offside but he was standing at the back post and not anywhere in line with the Murdo shot.
When McCloy dived, Frank McGarvey was actually standing to his left and was no way in line with the shot.

The highlights show Danny McGrain going mental with the referee but the linesman had a howler.
It was made worse when Rangers scored the winner in the last minute.

Celtic still went on to lift another League Title. ?.
