So we have £30 million in spare change left over from this season. A guaranteed £30-£40 million from next year's champions league. In addition we will likely sell a few players and take in another £30 million and that is not to mention the other profits we will make next season.

Will we:

A. Spend the lot and build a team that will compete in Europe and dominate domestically.

B. Spend circa 20 million and bring in some more project wingers and midfielders and fail to strengthen the areas we need to.

C. Back Rodgers by getting 2-3 of the players he wants and more projects but still have a negative net spend.

D. Wait until the transfer window is nearly closed, bring in a couple of loans and pocket all the Dosh to pay shareholder a large dividend.

E. None of the above.

I think it will be C. But will dream for A.

Buy in a couple of lower league in the same vein as Matt O'Riley, buy a decent goalkeeper for a change, one that is of Champions league ability, for a change.

New to site (been reading for years) .

Any chance we can reverse psychology the board if we all vote option D?

Probably too late for a GB banner insisting we don't invest or progress. Lawwell might do it out of spite lol.

I think the Board will try to improve the positions that B R thinks needs improving . If we can sign a goalkeeper who is as good as outgoing big Joe, and buy another keeper that is better than either of our back -up we should be happy with the goalie situation. We need 2 cb’s matching the quality of Scales and CCV . This means we should sell the two we bought last season . Left back and right back could both need additional players, both players again need to match G T and A J when he is playing well and we need height in both positions. Three centre midfielders are the strength of our team and BR needs to decide if he is keeping either or both Iwata or Bernardo . If so another the possible std of MO’R would be great . Two top wingers and another top striker, better than Kyogo or Idah, both whom I keep .
That’s ten players that could be on BR’s dream list . But I am sure BR is more of a realist than a day- dreamer and if he filled half of these positions with the quality he wanted BR would be delighted.

It will be A all the way or C at the very worst, anything other than that and we could see Brendan becoming very disillusioned, unhappy and possibly walking.

He'd never do that Jonbhoy!

C.

I think they will be give him 20-25 to spend,
Then sell o Riley thus weakening us again. And break even on the spend . Tell us that they are working on players, couldn’t quite get them over the line but the work had already started for the January window.
Shortly followed by January is a notorious hard market to buy quality players .
Sadly we will never step up another level whilst we sell our best players constantly . Or am I being too cynical ??.

Selling M O’R at any price would mean we have a bad transfer window .
You are aware Ed007 is providing exciting accommodation for Matt throughout the transfer window.

{Ed007's Note - In the dungeon, Ed's sex themed dungeon, Matt O'Riley's terrified... a woom away a woom away......

We need someone better than big Joe.

The boy from turkey we got linked with, looks a top class keeper and is just getting to his prime.

18 May 2024 17:38:18
Ed, who would you like us to get as a new no1?

{Ed007's Note - Out of all the one's we've been linked with I'd go for Cekir and then my 2nd choice would probably be Angus Gunn.}

I'd hope we push the boat out and spend about £35m on genuine first team quality. We would make some back through player sales or the majority if O'Riley leaves.

I'd loan out the Koreans, Holm and Tilio to clubs in Scotland.

Hopefully sell as much deadwood as possible.

If O'Riley was to leave I hope we go for someone like Toni Fruk. Looks a similar player and has racked up a lot of goal contributions in the Croatian league for Rijeka.

{Ed007's Note - What about selling MOR and bringing in Wilfred Ndidi on a free and have him, CalMac and Hatate as our main 3 midfielders next season without spending any the MOR money?}
