Evening Ed and all. Just finished reading there that arsenal are ready to do a cut price deal with Celtic for KT they think it would be easier to deal with Celtic than Newcastle and KT has said he will take a major pay cut. What a bit of business that would be especially if the Croatia GK arrives. Would love to see Hart stick around and maybe even take up a GK coach role.

Hail hail cb88

{Ed007's Note - We have one of the best GK coaches in Europe in Stevie Woods, wtf has Hart done to warrant being offered a coaching role at Celtic?
If KT wants to come back on a permanent deal and play in the LCB role I'd be delighted - if he is looking to come back on a loan and play as LB I'd pass on that, he isn't fit enough to play at LB any more and his injury problems are only going to get worse, if Celtic are willing to make that investment on a high risk transfer then KT needs to dance to Celtic's tune.}

1.) 14 Jul 2023 21:34:26
Why would we be easier to deal with. if Newcastle offer 30m say surely that's who they'll deal with.

{Ed007's Note - Because it's a Hell of a lot easier to deal with a team a player wants to move to than one he doesn't. Newcastle could offer £50 million for KT but if he doesn't fancy the move it ain't going to happen.
The £30 million price will be for other Pub League teams, £15-20 million for a move to Europe unless it's a "super-power" but there is no chance in a million years if.. IF... KT wants to come back to Celtic Arsenal will be asking us for those kind of prices.
Are we seriously going back down the rabbit hole about how transfers work and how fees etc work - AGAIN?
If we are then I'm out.}

2.) 14 Jul 2023 23:18:37
Nope never entered ma head. just think hard cash beats a loan any day and honestly think kt will stay in epl.

3.) 15 Jul 2023 10:16:46
Can’t see us spending 10+ on him as sell on value will be lower surely and we buy to sell.

4.) 15 Jul 2023 11:06:52
Ed are you seriously saying that if Newcastle offered £50m but we offered £10m Arsenal would do business with us because the player would rather come here? Don’t talk nonsense if the fees were £15m and £10m then you may have a point as they wouldn’t want to sell to a rival and there’s not a great deal of difference but claims that they would sell to us and lose £40m is crazy talk.
KT won’t be coming home as we won’t pay £20m+ and I bet at least 1 other side will, loan deal is no use we have a LB who isn’t as talented but he’s reliable and usually fit so it isn’t worth the outlay for a short term arrangement.

{Ed007's Note - So how exactly could Arsenal force KT to sign for Newcastle, how can any club force a player to go somewhere they don't want to go? Arsenal could accept an £100 million bid from a Saudi team for KT, would they force him to go there?}

5.) 14 Jul 2023 22:29:00
Ed how do u come to the best GK coach who is the last good GK we produced, I think Joe hart I'd a seriously underrated GK he is just coming to the end of his career now I respect he's made a good few mistakes but so has every GK. I think you'll struggle with the Stevie woods here, GK position has been our down fall for a long time. KT would improve our squad all day long I think we all need to break away from having a problem with loaning players in clubs with 100x our cash loan players in all the time.

{Ed007's Note - Stevie Woods is one of the most respected and highly regarded GK coaches in the game - ask Fraser Forster about him or any GK that has worked under him at Celtic or with Scotland. To suggest replacing a guy that has turned down job offers from some of the biggest clubs in England with Joe Hart because he's been here for a few years and is coming to the end of his career is ludicrous.
As for the loaning of players, I genuinely don't care what other clubs do, I only care about Celtic and I don't think there is anything to gain in loaning players unless either a) there is an option to buy or b) they are an exceptional player that we couldn't otherwise afford like a Bellamy or Keane.}

6.) 15 Jul 2023 11:29:15
KT great player but too many injuries and not around for the big games you need him for. Think we could spend on less risk elsewhere with sell on value. I think a loan would be more suited financially with less risk to us if he becomes injured.

05 Jul 2023 19:29:20
Ed I've not seen or read much in the last few days and wanted to know if u heard anything I've been told today hatatey is staying and will sign a new deal in the near future. Have u heard anything?

Hail hail cb88

{Ed007's Note - I haven't mate no and imo we don't need to offer Hatate a new deal as his current one runs until 2026.}

1.) 05 Jul 2023 20:26:56
Cheers Ed I thought he would have been on a longer deal. I hope he stays I think under brendons style of play he will dynamic in the mid.

{Ed007's Note - ?

26 Jun 2023 18:01:41
Has anyone heard of the rumour and the bookies has slashed the odds on K. Tierney returning? Surely the transfer fee would be to much but this would blow me away. Also heard a boy talking at work today about a dutch CB the club are very interested in anyone heard a name I've never heard anything online about it.

Hail hail cb88

1.) 26 Jun 2023 20:00:06
That must be nonsense surely.

2.) 26 Jun 2023 20:22:06
KT is in my best Celtic team I’ve witnessed since 1980.
( McGrain was past his best )

I would love to see him back because of his passion for our great club. ?.

{Ed007's Note - Tam Boyd and even Jackie McNamara keep KT out the team.}

3.) 26 Jun 2023 20:22:06

4.) 26 Jun 2023 20:45:09
Think the Dutch lad is Xaviere mbuyamba. Unfortunately Tierney will be Newcastle or man city. We are also supposed to be looking at zan vipotneik from maribor. Weak link with ndidi from Leicester can't see that though. Lazy journalism me thinks.

5.) 26 Jun 2023 20:57:51
Mubuyumba will be the Dutch CH we are after.

6.) 26 Jun 2023 21:16:31
Boyd was a great player, didn't like McNamara playing at LB though. Always felt he didn't look comfortable playing on left side. Epic at RB though.

7.) 26 Jun 2023 21:50:00
KT was 33/ 1 with skybet the other day. I know cause I was going to stick £20 on it just cause someone told me he was mega homesick. He is now 5/ 2 will have taken a bit to move that as most bookies cap that market just due to the sheer ability to get a tip off. I’ve had a few in the past and made a few quid. But it may be one worth watching. No idea how it would be affordable.

8.) 26 Jun 2023 23:39:16
A loan from Arsenal? It is possible. He has worked with Brenden before.

9.) 27 Jun 2023 07:05:44
I read arsenal told him they want to keep him and promised more gane time. think he'll stay there another season.

10.) 27 Jun 2023 07:56:41
I've also heard it would be a loan deal with the option to buy, would love to see this 1 happen but personally don't think it will. Never heard of the dutch boy before here's hoping he's the next VVD.

11.) 27 Jun 2023 09:28:41
No chance of KT returning. Insanity squared.

12.) 27 Jun 2023 14:23:03
I hope to God he doesn’t, I have been sickened enough by him in his first term as first team player. The lies he told about being greatest Celtic fan ever . Yet he broke down doors demanding to get out, by doing so he tore the heart of 9 and 10;in a row . By breaking up teams are other top players wanted out and Board knowing they would face fans fury didn’t let them go.

13.) 27 Jun 2023 18:55:09
Celtic calling KT was told to leave the last time the club wanted to cash in.

{Ed007's Note - No, KT wasn't told to leave Celtic. Like every player at the Club they know that if an offer comes in that is acceptable the Club will alert the player that the Club's valuation has been met and the final decision is up to the player.
KT's agent had already met with Arsenal and agreed the contract before Arsenal - put in an £18 million + add ons deal to Celtic which was turned down, the toeing and froing went on - Arsenal were worried about KT's hip but without permission from Celtic they couldn't put him through their own medical - but Peter Lawwell dug his heels in and eventually agreed on the £25 million fee and that the full fee was paid up front.
It was KT's own decision to leave Celtic, nobody at the Club told him or forced him to leave.}

14.) 27 Jun 2023 19:32:22
Thank you Ed007??.

{Ed007's Note - ??

15.) 29 Jun 2023 17:14:57
There no chance we will get him on loan when Newcastle and Villa who are managed by guy who signed him at Arsenal are willing to pay £25m to get him.
Even if he took a cut we wouldn’t be financing 50% of a £120k weekly wage.
Only chance we have and it’s very small is if Brendan wants to buy him and there’s no way we would pay more than £15m (lucky to go past 10) and that wouldn’t be enough.
I suppose if no concrete offers materialise and it’s late in the window we could maybe get a 1 year loan if we paid a substantial fee like £4-5m and large chunk of his wages but can’t see Celtic paying proper money for his return especially with his injury record.

Evening all, Ed hope your well. I seen u write about Tete I've seen him just for a few minutes here and there and think he's not to bad, if u think a million or 2 million it's well worth a punt. I text a old friend today who's used to get some good info but he said he's been told everything is really quite, he's heard we are looking at 1 player from Leicester (no name) . What's your thoughts on the bor Jesper karlsson from AZ I seen him in Europe and think he could be a really good edition just not sure how much AZ would be looking for him.

Hail hail cb88

{Ed007's Note - There is interest in Jesper Karlsson from the Pub League and on the continent so I think we would be priced out of any move for him but I agree with you about him being a good player ?

27 Jun 2023 21:15:09
This one with Tierney is beginning to gather pace he has now confirmed he would love to return now Brendon is back. Ed I know we have a sell on fee in his sale to arsenal, how does this work done get him at a reduced fee now if we buy him back. This could be 1 if the best transfer windows in a long time.

Hail hail cb88

{Ed007's Note - The sell on clause for KT is 15% and Arsenal want £30+ million for him, the sell-on clause would be void and even it it was still part of a buy back deal it would be 15% off £5 million if Arsenal would accept £30 million - which I'd be surprised if they do - would mean we'd "only" need to pay £29.25 million.
Does anyone realistically believe this is going to happen? And if he's looking for a loan deal he can feck right off! Playing for Celtic while Arsenal subsidise his £120k a week wages?
If he wants to come back so badly then ask Arsenal to release him and come back for £20k a week, a loan would just be ripping the pish out the support - again.}

1.) 27 Jun 2023 22:03:33
The story sounds like the papers are spinning an innocent comment from KT to sell newspapers.

2.) 27 Jun 2023 22:26:42
Feck it ed. He's only getting back if he says sorry for leaving and drops s a 6figure lump into the food bank fund and pays the club the difference we lose when he tears up his contract and plays is for free until he's 45.

{Ed007's Note - Well maybe then.... ??

3.) 27 Jun 2023 23:47:34
It's never happening.

4.) 28 Jun 2023 01:12:51
No thanks would spend half season on treatment table. Forget the loan deals that's for other mob.

5.) 28 Jun 2023 07:16:12
I think he made a comment like they all do after they leave, that he'd love to come back one day and the media have spun it. It will make a nice headline for them when he doesn't come, 'KT turns back on Celtic' or similar. You can just see it. Never going to happen, he will remain in pub league.

6.) 28 Jun 2023 07:20:53
Personally I do not begrudge Tierney moving as in todays world people like Forrest and Mcgregor are rare. Money probably played a part but who can begrudge him a chance to prove himself at a higher level.

That said Celtic haven't done too bad without him and to be honest I am also a big fan of Taylor so would not want him back.

The fact that the rangers take a lot on loan does not mean we should forget about loan moves altogether and if my memory is right, CCV, Jota and Maida all started life at Celtic as loans. We have been lucky as over the years we have had some stinking loans, no one quite as bad as Aaron Ramsey, but close. So whilst agreeing loans are not ideal would anyone refuse De Bruyne, Messi etc on loan?

7.) 28 Jun 2023 08:08:08
It’s possible for Celtic get KT on a loan deal this season and it shouldn’t affect too much, our 15% clause on his next transfer move.

KT has another 3 years left on his current contract after signing a contract extension in 2021.
Arsenal would still command a decent transfer fee next season with a couple of years left on his contract.

8.) 27 Jun 2023 23:13:35
I don't know if there is much truth in the story but supposedly his mother goes down to London a lot and the father isn't to happy and it's making family life hard and this is y Tierney wants back, I've also been informed Ed there is a problem with him and artera. I deep down don't believe the deal. will happen myself surely if it's the fee your talking Ed we could get 3-4 good players in for that sort of cash but I don't think Brendon came back this time for the club not to match his ambition, I'm sure they'll have to pull if a few top drawer Signings over the length of his contract.

9.) 28 Jun 2023 12:59:43
Did Andy Robertson not say something similar a few years ago when asked if he would go back to Celtic. I think he said he would like to go back before he was finished up or something like that.

10.) 28 Jun 2023 19:23:46
That rings a bell marco but he also said he could happily finish his career at liverpool. So something would have to give.

I'd be stunned if we got Tierney in any capacity. He's on too much money for that to work. Even on a loan clubs in England could and would pay a much bigger % of his wages as has been said.

11.) 29 Jun 2023 00:54:22
Yeah loan to buys! Loans noooo emergency patching on deep cuts otherwise. s. o. s no real benefit apart from the financial of wages imo only!

25 Jun 2023 23:18:16
Hi edd hope all is well, been reading the page for the last few days, I'm not convinced by g. taylor he has definitely improved over the last season, season and a half but I still think we can get a better left back. So my thinking is in this window a new LB, GK, ST and a mid preferable 2 and if with sales it didn't leave things short a cb. What do u all think is priority? For me a striker would be up there as pointed out by someone earlier when the Asia cup comes around we will be short. I hope now the board have learned from previously and push the boat out and back Brendon, after the last time they really let him down I believe if u look at the way at his previous clubs Liverpool Celtic they learn from his transfer strategy it's not always right away he lays down a plan for a few years in front I don't believe he got the credit for Liverpools success he laid the founds and klopp took all the praise. I really am excited about the next 3 seasons and if all goes well hopefully Brendon will still be here longer than his current deal.

Hail hail cb88

1.) 26 Jun 2023 13:17:01
I think Greg Taylor was unlucky not to get a shout for player of the season. Hopefully we can get the south Korean kid in looks to have massive potential.

2.) 26 Jun 2023 16:36:28
First of all,
Greg Taylor is a good defender.
He doesn’t constantly get caught out at the back post like Barasic.

Izaguirre was a similar height and build left back for Celtic but he was another Barasic, when it came to defending his back post.

Although Izaguirre was still a better player than Barasic, who has ZERO bottle.

3.) 26 Jun 2023 17:54:35
Disagree buzz I feel to many goals come from Taylors side of the park I'm not saying he's a bad player he definitely has improved and I think Brendon will bring him in more but not sure if we want to try get through CL groups stage he is our man.

4.) 26 Jun 2023 19:20:14
Goals will always be lost all over the pitch but I don’t see any Stats to confirm that Taylor is a liability for Celtic whilst defending.

Brendan has previously played inverting fullbacks with Leicester and that would be great for Taylor.

Before Ange,
I previously mentioned that Taylor had a very poor assist record and that’s my biggest worry that he won’t adapt if Brendan plays a 4-2-3-1 formation.

5.) 26 Jun 2023 23:28:23
There isn’t a player on the Celtic team that we can’t get better than whoever fills the position. I am sure B R knows that, but he also knows he can’t get better for every position in one window.

6.) 26 Jun 2023 23:55:04
I was never really Taylors biggest fan at LWB always felt he needed a LW ahead of him as he lacked pace. He's definitely improved a lot and I feel he's a leader on the pitch he gives his all every game. It will be interesting to see how he plays next season if we revert back to orthodox full backs and not inverted.

7.) 27 Jun 2023 09:19:18
On the point of losing goals on our left flank, one of the main reasons is always playing with a right footed/ sided centre back.
Teams target the area between LCB and LB where both from Nd it difficult to defend .

Hi ed first time poster, great site mate I'm really glad BR is coming back I know he left under a cloud but when u don't get the backing u are always going to want to better yourself, personally I believe this time will be different I think BR will look at the job in a different way knowing now what happened at Leicester, I personally think he was done over by the board. I'm just hoping we can go better in CL in 2-3 seasons he needs time this squad isn't good enough. Also ed was looking for a bit of help from u my dad has a watch that was presented to one the of Lisbon lions in de stefano testimonial and was wondering if u know someone that could help him see about a value for it? His Gran gave it to him had it a long time and now looking to see what it would be worth. Any help would be good. Great site. Hail hail.

Hail hail cb88

{Ed007's Note - Thanks very much and welcome aboard. HH ?

1.) 18 Jun 2023 15:36:15
I honestly believe Rodgers is the best appointment we could of hoped for.

Good manager, done well last time at club and I can see him staying longer this time around which is good for stability.

One fan who will be delighted at his return is bhoy from paisley who had armed stand off with police lol.

Troy he is a proper cb would love to see that 1 happen mate. Thanks Ed I didn't know that I've heard this now from a few different people if he is good enough and fc volendam are able to work on a smaller fee this could make really good business especially after VVD.

He minds me a lot of Agathe if he had a better ball what a player but honestly I'm glad he's signed up I think BR will turn him into a better player all round, it just seems the more time he has to think the end product isn't as good but believe this is good business with his best years ahead of him.

I'm honestly not sure of the name Ed but I've heard now from 2-3 different people he's on BR wanted list but surely if he has that pedigree they will be looking for some fee, but saying that if he can play with CCV and we got Tierney and AJ on the right what a defense we could have would just love a gk aswell.

Hail hail cb88

{Ed007's Note - FC Volendam's record fee received is the €3.5 million they got from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2021. They aren't known for receiving big fees - or any decent fees to be honest as the only other player they've sold for €1+ million was Robert Molenaar who signed for Leeds for €1.4 million - and that was in 1997!}
I'm guessing here but I'd be surprised if we paid any more - or much more - than €2 million for Mbuyamba.}

Jfp u honestly can't tell me Tierney wouldn't improve our lb. I know he had his injuries but artita caused arsenal the league with not playing Tierney. Taylor isn't or never will be a replacement for Tierney your kidding yourself on mate. Anyone answer the question and forget how Tierney left Tierney or Taylor?

Hail hail cb88

{Ed007's Note - Anyone signing KT to play as a LB is taking a MASSIVE gamble and even KT supposedly sees his future playing CB because his body can't handle the physical demands of playing at LB.}

No way JFP if any player regardless of how they are here helps us progress in CL and make more money it's a good signing. Ed I agree but how many times for not to much more money have we lost a really good player. It's not about how much u spend or don't spend it's all about if the player is good enough. Mctominey and Tierney would definitely improve our squad.

Ed I totally agree we need to at some time start to spend out more I respect the way the club is working makes us a lot of money but if the group of players go further in CL surely there value sky rockets. Bring them in young enough even if it means paying a wee bit more and sell them on for even large fees the further in Europe the more money they become worth.

Hail hail cb88

{Ed007's Note - I don't really care about the fees we pay for players, the simple fact of the matter is that in football money talks and the more wages you pay the better class of player you can attract.}
