That's two weeks in a row Castagne scores for Atalanta who are consolidaing a champions league place. I would be very surprised if he could be tempted to Celtic now.

The ship has well and truly sailed there. He'll be getting attention from some really big clubs.

Atalanta look a really tasty side as well, he might fancy staying put. Straight into the groups finishing 4th in Serie A these days.

If we had paid £8 mil we would have received almost 3 times that by selling him.

Instead we will go for someone worth 1mil who may sell for 6.

That's the difference between what we are doing and Ajax are doing. Acquiring your main targets early on before the value skyrockets.

I know we can be critical of the teams lack of goals this season and too many 0-0 draws but to be honest I'd be happy at this point with two losses and a 0-0 draw in the remaining matches. I'd be even happier if we win the league tomorrow at Ibrox without even kicking a ball lol. To be honest to win the league by 20 points or simply goal difference is all the same to me and this year with all the upheavels, injuries etc that we have had this champonship is really sweet.
Now only Hearts between us and another piece of history. COYBIG.

"And the three men I admire most
The Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost
They caught the last train for the coast
The day the captain died"

What a sad day! In these days in which we celebrate Christ's victory over death, defeating death forever we learn that Cesar now has entered into death to rise again in Christ.

Billy represents everything that is good about Celtic as a fan, a player, a manager and an ambassador.

Here in Rome Mass will be offered forthe repose of his soul but also for his wife and kids etc at this sad time

R. I. P Billy Mc Neill true legend.

Condolences to Billy McNeills family and friends. I had the privilege of speaking to him and John Grieg when they were on Scotland duty.
Both were standing at Tommy Hughes newspaper stall outside Queen Street station.
How lucky was l they both were happy to chat. Two legends at the same time.
You will be greatly missed Billy.

Must say was a bit disgusted by the Motherwell goal, or should I say the build up to it, but when I caled down I was left wondering are there any precedents for this behaviour.
Must say it always seems that the team that puts the ball out of play is not the team of the injured player as a gesture of goodwill not to continue playing whilst an opponent is on the ground in need of assistance. Then when the throw in is taken it is given back to the team which was in possession as a sign of recognition as they were not obliged to put the ball out.
I'm not saying I liked what happened and in fact I didn't but was wondering if the same rule of sportsmanship apply on this occasion when it was Celtic themselves who put the ball out. Curious to know what people thin. Thank God at the end of the day it didn't do us any real damage as we son comfortably in the end.

There is no written law regarding giving the ball back, it’s generally given back as a show of sportsmanship. What really angered me was the shocking display from Kevin Clancy, dishing out yellow cards like confetti to Celtic players, not just the cards his handling of the game left a lot to be desired, and Dougie (red card x3) Ross wasn’t any better, the standard of officiating is at an all time low. oldkilly.

2.) 24 Feb 2019 18:55:53
I have only seen the one in the past when a team scored. They let the opposition walk the ball up into the net. No chance of that happening in our game. Good to see KT back. Young Henderson had a good game. We have quite a few talented young players waiting for there chance in the first team. We have had some amount of injuries this season to key players. Onwards to Tynecastle and Easter Rd and a home game V Aberdeen. Win those 3 and the league's done and dusted. 🍀.

As a few of us have pointed out it's not the opponents we really need to worry about in this league it's the blatantly biased and slanted officiating, uneven and inconsistent rulings and lack of protection.
There are too many of these clowns at present - in fact there is probably a team and three subs trying desperately to obstruct us.
Fortunately it's going to take a lot more than cheats to stop us.

On Sunday we will continue our drive towards 8 in a row whilst motherwell are going for 6 in a row and I'm just saddened by the fact that we won't see our Captain get the chance to go for 3 in a row.

Agree with everything that has been said here and absolutely Clarke should try to get him for Scotland, in fact I'd love to find some distant Irish relative to sign him up for Ireland.

I try to keepmy judging to "facts" and whilst its true that he refused to play in the CL qualifier we took the word of BREXIT rather than the word of Boyata and why shouldn't we have, after all BREXIT is a and always has been a diehard Celtic supporter who was in his dream job and was going to get us the 10. Perhaps facts now show that Boyata is probably the more trustworthy of the two and when he said he was unable to play he actually was unable to play. I think many of us had a knee jerk reaction when he left the field in the last game with rangers and yet again it seems Boyata knows his body and knew whe couldn't play on. It is like seeing someone steal and immediately he is labeled as a thief but perhaps someone is holding his family hostage forcing hi to steal, he is dying of hunger forcing him to steal, he is a klyptomaniac unable to resist the urge to steal etc etc.

Apart from winning La Liga twice with Valencia about 15 years ago and the english championship with Newcastle all he has won is cups. According to wikipedia he has less than a 50% win rate as a manager 550/ 1103. Coud he do a job for us, probably but hope not. For me Benitez has an EGO which makes the special one Mourinho look like St Francis of Asissi.

If Morelos were to come to us I would support him (hope Idon't have to eat those words) but I don't believe it would ever happen. Over there he is a big fish in a wee pond whilst here he would rarely get into the starting eleven. I agree with everyone with regards to his temperament and diving ability and that he hasn't scored in big games. These are facts that can't be disputed. I may differ with my interpretation of the facts. I think he is a good old fashioned poacher and if you get the ball to him in the bo he will score (not always, as shown against us) . I think the fact that he doesn't score in big games is not so much that he bottle it but that because the quality of the defenders etc he rarely gets the opportunuty to score as the ball doesn't get to him.

I think if the sevconians were to analyse the Alfredo Morelos situation they would probably drive him away from Ibrox rather than look for 20 m that they will never get because he has costthem the league. How many points have they dropped because he has failed to score against etter opposition and how many points have they dropped because he was suspended and couldn't play. If it wasnt for his disciplinary record etc WE WOULD PROBABLY BE CHASING sEVCO. I hope he stays at Rangers as his playing for Rangers does as much as anything to guarantee us the TEN and Beyond. ALFREDO WE LUV U hahaha.

I also think Ralston needs a run in the team to show what he can do. As far as never being good enough for Celtic as some seem to think it is too early to say and i seem to remember reading on here the same type of thing being said about Forrest and others.

What can be said that hasn't already been said? Perhaps we should have given them a guard of honour leaving the pitch as they totally outplayed us. Now we have hearts in the league and cup and final and all we need is another performance lik that and I believe the treble treble will be seriously at risk. Hopefully we will have KT and Forrest available and the loan players don't even make the matchday squads.

It looks pretty sure that Atalanta will qualify for an automatic champions league spot in 4th place in the serie A and Castagne has playing regularly now and even scored at the weekend. Don't think he will leave and if he does doubt it will be to the SPFL.

Like many on here I like Neil Lennon and cerainly was in favour of him getting the job permanently as I have always favoured a "Celtic man". However the various threads on here over the last couple of monthes have made me widen my horizons and got me thinking. I can't think who i would want and will fully support whoever it is.

It is interesting to note that in 1997 a true Celtic legend (Tommy Burns) was sacked and replaced by Wim Jansen who brought us The King and stopped Rangers from getting 10 in a row. It is also interesting to note that same Wim Jansen was a member of the Feyenoord team that beat Celtic in the final of the 1970 European Cup Final.

Difficult to answer this one Tim as the Lions are immortal, as a team more so than as individuals, in the sense that I believe their individual legend status comes from being part of the firt british team to conquer Europe and the fantastic legacy they left under Jock Stein. If I am to think of a player (legend) who I think will still be remembered and revered in 50 years time I would haave to say "il Capitano" Francesco Totti of AS Roma who was a one club man and would easily have earned a lot more elsewhere. I am sure there are others but I live in Rome and he is the first one to come to mind.
