What's everyone's thoughts on the mctominay rumours is he a player that would make a huge difference to our midfield / team is he worth rumoured price . or are there better available for the rumourored amount. is that much prudent on one player or should we squeeze two or 3 out of that money . probably no no substance in story but interested to hear others take on it.

Ad take him. he's been very impressive for Scotland. can play a few different positions as well. his wages rules t out unfortunately.

Would be class for us however his value and wages are far too high for us, if we alter our wage structure it may come to bite our backsides in the future.

{Ed007's Note - Well we can kiss goodbye to any chance of progress in Europe if our wage structure is only going to pay our TOP players £25k - £30k a week.}

He is a good player and would improve our team but I'm asking myself, does he provide good value for money?

If he is on 40k per week or more, then it is a no from me.

McTominay is exactly what Celtic need.
He’s a versatile player and his height would be beneficial in both boxes.

He would make a massive difference against good opposition in our midfield, especially in Europe.

Man Utd wanted £50 million for him but maybe that’s because Newcastle showed an interest.

But he is still overpriced for Scottish Football unfortunately.

mctominay would be a cracking player for us. as in the wage structure if we want to be doing well in Europe we need to start paying better wages. wages are going up every season in all the leagues and if we stick at 30 grand max then all we will be getting is projects and players that won't cut it in Europe. break the wage structure but don't be reckless.

if we are getting 25 million for players for just dominating Scotland how much do you think we will be getting when we do trebles and stand out in the champions league by getting out groups and progressing a bit further in the knock outs. to achieve this wages have to go up.

if there's quality players on say 80 or 90 grand a week and we can pay the transfer fee. there certainly not going to come for 30 grand a week a massive pay cut. if we push it to say 50 with the attraction of our club and some added bonuses then it gives the player something to think about.

Ed I totally agree we need to at some time start to spend out more I respect the way the club is working makes us a lot of money but if the group of players go further in CL surely there value sky rockets. Bring them in young enough even if it means paying a wee bit more and sell them on for even large fees the further in Europe the more money they become worth.

{Ed007's Note - I don't really care about the fees we pay for players, the simple fact of the matter is that in football money talks and the more wages you pay the better class of player you can attract.}

We should be developing our own McTominays rather than paying these obscene wages.

Any money spent on Tierney loan would be as well lobbed out the windae or Doak I’d be massively disappointed to see either return to the club pray the rumours are groundless.

No way JFP if any player regardless of how they are here helps us progress in CL and make more money it's a good signing. Ed I agree but how many times for not to much more money have we lost a really good player. It's not about how much u spend or don't spend it's all about if the player is good enough. Mctominey and Tierney would definitely improve our squad.

10.) 07 Jul 2023
07 Jul 2023 18:30:08 CB88 Tierney had his day and he won’t improve our squad from the treatment room. Liability and great bit of business by Celtic given he was injury prone when he was sold for £25m. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift from God that’s why they call it the present. Leave the past in the past as Frankie Miller playing Jake McQuilan said in ‘Just a Boys Game’ ye can not go back. If anybody hasn’t seen the film it’s recommended.

I don’t want McTominlay. Not for the the money mentioned. We can get much better.

Jfp u honestly can't tell me Tierney wouldn't improve our lb. I know he had his injuries but artita caused arsenal the league with not playing Tierney. Taylor isn't or never will be a replacement for Tierney your kidding yourself on mate. Anyone answer the question and forget how Tierney left Tierney or Taylor?

{Ed007's Note - Anyone signing KT to play as a LB is taking a MASSIVE gamble and even KT supposedly sees his future playing CB because his body can't handle the physical demands of playing at LB.}

Was there a trilogy of films? , Just a boys game, Just another Saturday, and Paterson Ok, they were very good, although I can't really remember much about Paterson Ok, or I might be getting mixed up.

McTominay will be in demand if he's available and he can easily double or treble anything we can pay him. HH.

Bestybhoy that's a good point. If Rice to Arsenal goes through, West Ham potentially could go for him.

he would like most on here say be a big hit in our league and a big statement showing we mean to progress in europe, but quite expensive with the reported fee and wages so maybe not,
