Ok I appreciate that the time Rodgers spent at Celtic was always going to be heavily influenced by varying factors a) level of transfer budget, b) inability to persuade foreign players to come to Scotland, c) lack of depth of competition in Scotland etc. So being a realist I accepted all of the above and when Rodgers was appointed I thought ok just let's enjoy the time he spends here. The man was building a legacy that would have made him revered by Celtic supporters for generations to come. However I can neither forgive or forget the mannner in which he has left the club. I am not going to delve into immotive terms in the heat of the moment. Suffice to say his lack of professionalism displayed in the manner and timing in the manner of his departure has for me tainted the legacy he was creating.

Maurice Johnstone and him will be remembered with the same fondness. His legacy is being pumped in his last game at Ibrox by his apprentice and abandoning the club when he knows what 10 in a row would mean to the fans. He was not and is no longer worthy of the Celtic fans adulation. Desertion in the face of the enemy. An imposter and a phoney. I’m a Celtic supporter it’s my dream job. I wouldn't like to see how he treated a club he didn’t like or fans that didn’t love him. Obviously didn’t learn enough from the late Tommy Burns. Anyway you no whit happens. Shut the door on the way out Brendan. Thank God we have Neil Lennon to pick up the reins in the short if not the long term.

Can see why you would compare him to Mo Johnson but it has to be said he has given us 2 fantastic years and then betrayed us in the 3rd year so he is more like Judas who betrayed Jesus in the 3rd year. Anyway he will make a lot of money but the only thing he will win have a chance of winning is the Championship as i can't see Leicester winning EPL or in Europe.

Does anybody else think our set pieces are really poor? For a team with our fair share of six foot plus players we seldom seem to threaten the opponents goals from corners. Our free kicks are devoid of any invention and we appear to be totally reliant on a strike from Griffiths. Why do we appear not to be working on this area on the training ground?

I've seen dembele smash free kicks in for France I don't know why he doesn't do it for us. Set pieces should be having some time set aside in training, we get a lot of corners and free kicks around the box that if we capitalise on we would be under a lot less pressure at the back.

It’s actually embarrassing how bad we are set pieces.

3.) 18 Aug 2018 21:33:42
Yes we are bad and it looks we don't work on our set pieces, except may be to stop quick counter attacks.

The best way to stop them is stick the ball in the net.

We appear to be creeping closer and closer to the nightmare scenario of losing Celtic's most successful manager in history. We had it all: our traditional nearest rivals trailing in our wake; domestic trophy stacked upon trophy, the envy of all in Scottish football. How does our board react to this? Do they reward this unprecedented level of success by backing the manager in his quest to strengthen the clubs playing resources while we are in a period of asendency? Sickeningly no - instead they publicly embarrass the manager by refusing to allow him to invest the money he has been largely responsible for generating into increasing the standard of the player pool. If this gargantuan piece of mis-management results in the manager walking away the current board should be subject to a walk of shame To rival Game of Thrones.

Settle petal still 3 weeks of transfer window to go we only need a few quality additions where as the persons needed a mass cull? Why because Sevco have never finished above third in the league. ever! We have just won back to back trebles a first in Scotland. So our window really open now as a lot of clubs down south now stuck with players they won’t be able to use? So let’s cut out the panty wetting till the start of September. Big wow we missed mcginn does he get in ahead of Brown Ntcham Rogic McGregor . no he doesn’t so as a squad goes there are still plenty out there 🙂🏆⚽️🍀.

3.) 09 Aug 2018 18:21:30
So we break out transfer record by buying Edouard and you are claiming we have not backed Rodgers.

Also remember there are 3 weeks left in the transfer window and plenty of time to get some new faces in.

Agreed Tmbhouy sadly.

5.) 09 Aug 2018 18:34:29
Strong words Tmbhouy, maybe you, Magicpole and Johnnymac should go out for a pint sometime and discuss how you're going to sort out this shambolic football club we've got.

7.) 09 Aug 2018 18:50:14

Stopped reading after "most successful manager".

9.) 10 Aug 2018 22:31:02
Most successful manager in history, even a youngish man like myself have lived through two who have been more successful.

Personally I would not involve Boyata for the following reasons -

You have to assume he is still trying to get a move in the current transfer window. That being the case what would his level of commitment be in say Thursday nights Eruropa League play-off tie? Would he be playing while trying to avoid injury and threaten any transfer?

Also what message would you be sending out to the players who want to play for the club if Boyata is allowed back after betraying his team mates, supporters, manager and club. Success in top flight football can only be gained through a team ethos and unfortunately Boyata has proved not to be a team player.
