Morning Ed, just a wee question regarding griffiths. I'm not on here to have a go at the guy as he's clearly got issues at the moment but what really is the truth with him do u know? From what I thought was the case is that Celtic have told him to take an indefinite break from football, stay away from Lennoxtown and Celtic Park, and keep a low profile yet this past week while after getting beat at Ibrox later that day he's sitting in the stands at Easter road watching Hibs, now there photos of him at the horse racing circulating yesterday. Doesn't look good when Celtic pay his wages, he's apparently got a gambling problem ( if that's true) and he's at the races? I might be the only one not privy to his real problems as there's all sorts of stories being branded about but for me he'd be better just keeping a low profile.

{Ed007's Note - I don't remember the Club telling LG to keep a low profile, Garry, why would they do that, and he will have handed in a sick-note just like every other employee? LG is suffering from depression and believe me the last thing you should do when suffering is lock yourself away from the world - that's just make your mood even worse. As far as I know a while back (I'm talking maybe 18 months/2 years ago) LG felt he was gambling too much and decided himself to knock it on the head for a while as he wasn't enjoying it, whether he went to GA or sought other help at the time is really nobody's business but his own.
Drug use, drinking too much, gambling too much, eating too much or too little can all be brought on through depression, there's some days you can't even be arsed getting out of bed or washing your face - that's the REALLY bad days that can drive people to do silly things. Days out with friends and family doing things you enjoy are encouraged by doctors and I doubt LG would be at horse-racing if he had any serious gambling problem, he would be dragged over the coals by his doctors, family & friends if that was the case so he wouldn't be standing posing for pictures, more likely he'd be there with a 'disguise' on trying to avoid cameras.
The best thing for LG is for everyone to stop speculating and give him the peace and time he needs to get better - and it does get better.
I'll just finish by saying to anyone reading this and struggling with mental health or an addiction don't let it all build up, talk to someone, anyone (even e-mail me if you aren't ready to talk to your doc or wife yet) the toughest thing is that first talk and asking for help but as soon as you do you're starting on the road to recovery 🙏

Supposedly the racing picture was in October. Not that it matters.

I said a simpler version of that earlier ed.
Now today Griffiths has came out and told everyone it has nothing to do with gambling or drink.
That should be the end of that.

Well said Ed. You summer it up nicely. i've recently been diagnosed with PTSD and depression. Taking the first step and opening up is the hardest part.

Well said Ed the problem with depression it leads to other problems and is not straight forward to solve my humble opinion is give him time and space and the occasional shout out on match days to let him know that 60k people give a dam. sorry Ed.

Its just goes to prove the media has a disgusting agenda about club and will stoop to lows of telling lies about Griffiths who is clearly in a vunerable mental state.

Whats even more interesting is The Sun willing to print lies they have yet when i contacted them a few months about a convicted paedophille working as a fast food delivery driver in Dumbarton they were not interested. Nice to see they have priorities right.

Excellent post Ed, really does put this illness in perspective and how to hit it head on.

{Ed007's Note - Taking the first step and talking is the hardest thing you might do in your life BUT it will also probably be the best as well.
To Pud, sorry to hear that mate, keep your chin up and keep on fighting - we're all here for you. God bless 🙏

Ed that is the best post I have seen from any person for many a year. You, like me, have suffered similar issues to Leigh and you direct no holds barred put down by anyone who doubts the impact MH can have on people and their families; is spot on. The need to build communication and enjoyment for someone suffering is key. at least that is how I try to deal with my demons. You sir are a credit to this site. 👊.

{Ed007's Note - Thanks very much for that mate, I go out to my mum's for dinner and come back to a serious pile of posts held for me on this thread so I will get through them all lads.

Thanks for replying to my post Ed, just wanted to understand the truth in what’s actually going on rather than listening and reading all the nonsense. When I say about keeping a low profile, what I was actually meaning and probably didn’t explain myself properly was Leigh being who he is is always going to attract the vultures of the press up here and he’s quite well within his rights to live his life how he sees fit. Now he’s felt he’s had to respond to the nonsense being written about him then hopefully the press will now leave him be to recuperate and get better. I meant no malice or upset in my post or earlier post 👍🏻.

{Ed007's Note - There was nothing wrong with your post, Garry don't worry about that mate. I hope you didn't think I was having a pop at you btw?

Definitely didn’t think u were having a pop Ed, just wanted to know exactly what’s going on with Leigh. No one needs to buy papers to here the strries being branded about. Just hope he gets left alone now to focus on a speedy and full recovery mate.

{Ed007's Note - 👍
