Ajax Cape Town havr announced an agreement with Glasgow Celtic, for the sale of defender Rivaldo Coetzee HAS BEEN CONCLUDED .
The search for a CF still continues.

1.) 21 Aug 2017 21:19:27
My only issue with this signing is this, since Ajax Amsterdam are the parent company, then why haven't they signed the boy up? Or is it just a case of someone seeing something that Ajax Amsterdam dont. Interesting i think.

2.) 21 Aug 2017 21:15:21
He's still to take a medical and work permit supposedly.

3.) 21 Aug 2017 21:40:09
Bham - I wouldn't worry about Ajax and defenders.

They said Veltman was a better prospect than Van Dijk, well we know what's happened there.

4.) 22 Aug 2017 09:20:00
He looks brilliant and with Shev and Boyata permanent bomb scares I will take this young guy any day of the week.

Check him out on YouTube.

5.) 22 Aug 2017 09:32:01
A bit unfair on Boyata Mp he was playing consistantly well and scoring some important goals up until injury.

6.) 22 Aug 2017 09:55:11
Boyata ain't the answer Stan. i'll give him credit for getting back in the team and doing well in the spl but against decent strikers he's just not good enough! Don't know if this young guy will be the answer but I'm willing to give him a chance. looks quite aggressive in the challenge and good with both feet. if I'm being honest but I was looking for a bit more experience to be honest! Somebody maybe 27 or 28 who's played in Europe, but maybe we've got another bargain with this kid.

7.) 22 Aug 2017 10:25:43
Time will tell mate we all want a Stubbs or an Elliot but not easy to find. I still think Boyata can do a job for us he has improved dramatically under BR, he had plenty scary moments before BR came in but I think it's unfair to say he has had any prior to injury. I think Jozo had some very slack passes in the Astana game but they were ignored because of the score and everyone talking about how well Bitton played. That said, Jozo is a class act and I don't recall him having any poor games. Be good to see what our new signing has to offer I'm quite happy with us having Jozo, Boyata, Ajer, and Coatzee. Erik for me has been the bombscare so would bite the hand of anyone offering £3m for him.

8.) 22 Aug 2017 11:24:42
Boyata had a great season once he got in and scored quite few goals.

9.) 22 Aug 2017 12:16:52
I'd prefer a Marc reiper over Stubbs and Elliot thought he was outstanding for Celtic
Take nothing away from the other 2.

10.) 22 Aug 2017 12:47:06
Anyone know what the transfer fee is on this one?

11.) 22 Aug 2017 13:21:35
Supposedly 800k.

12.) 22 Aug 2017 13:23:31
Great player Marco would be hard for me to seperate the 3. I enjoyed watching Stubbs not so much for winning the ball but because he was a fantastic passer of the ball from the back almost all diagonal balls to the wingers went to feet. Thought Kennedy was going to be very similar until injury.

13.) 22 Aug 2017 13:56:31
Bit strange that there is nothing on the Club website?

14.) 22 Aug 2017 15:55:33
Didn't Ed say the other day that no deals are likely to be announced until the team are back at the end of the week?

{Ed007's Note - I just can't see the Club and their PR department announcing any signings without Rodgers there for the pictures.}

30 Jan 2016 17:58:08
Ed, any truth in Feyenoord's Colin Kazim-Richards flying into Glasgow today to hold talks about signing for us?
Is he any good?
Do we need him?
What's the deal?

LeedsCelt

{Ed007's Note - As far as I know there is no deal.}

1.) 30 Jan 2016 22:51:07
Leeds bhoy . seen the bhoy from dobbs shamrock scored in a trial game. was looking him up and watched some clips of shamrocks and the midfielder brandon meile. looked a player . what do our irish posters think of him is he any good in the flesh worth a punt?

2.) 30 Jan 2016 23:26:23
Hh dr Bhoy, its an no brainer signing in my opinion 18 goals in 13 games says something,
I know he's young and like the Smiths youth FA very few make it at that age, but this guy is rated by the best English and Irish scouts.
He's defiantly worth a gamble.

27 Jan 2016 22:37:44
Ed007: I'm new here, but I assume your the man to ask, I've been reading tonight we're to complete the signing of Manchester City youngster Patrick Roberts.
On loan I assume, did you hear any update?
Do we actually need the wee man?

LeedsCelt

{Ed007's Note - It looks like Roberts will be coming in but if De Bruyne's injury is serious it could scupper it. For me personally I don't think we need him, especially only until the end of the season but the good thing is it means we aren't signing O'Halloran, so every cloud and all that.}

1.) 27 Jan 2016 23:17:23
Yeah totally agree about O'Halloran, but Roberts at 18 year old bought for £11Mill by city seems last season seems like a no brainer to our benefit. 😄👍🍀.

{Ed007's Note - What's the point of bringing him in until the end of the season though? We don't need anyone to win the league, hopefully the treble, so all he'll do is hold back one of our own youngsters.}

2.) 27 Jan 2016 23:24:08
Sorry Ed but I'd rather we signed Michael O'Halloran permanently and developed him than sign Patrick Roberts for 4 months to help Man City develop him, its a no brainer, O'Halloran is a good pacy young forward who would improve greatly playing with better players .

{Ed007's Note - I don't see a 25 year old as a young player and I'd much rather see our young players get a chance than see us bringing in an average SPFL player. Do you really see a 25 year old as a player to bring in as a project and develop? If we are buying players at that age I'm looking for a better standard and quality than Michael O'Halloran who is no better than what we've got, in fact he's worse.}

3.) 27 Jan 2016 23:47:37
That's my original question but now I'm warming to the signing,
Ronnie got a cunning plan lol.
But at least he'll be a great influence on our youths which can't be bad.
Hh Ed👍🍀.

{Ed007's Note - (yes)

4.) 28 Jan 2016 01:08:08
There can not be any justification or sense in signing an 18 year old on a six month loan, that can be of any benefit to Celtic, the only one getting any benrfit is man c, there youngster is just beig kept fit at the detriment of any youngster coming up thru the ranks and being denied a place by this wunderkid, Celtic need to develop and encourage and play their own 18 year olds rather than be a patsy to man c.

5.) 28 Jan 2016 06:27:11
the man city conveyor continues. I wish the deal had been made to join in the summer. 18 or not he is still an 11m player. We have sviatchenko and if that stuttering ljuban deal goes through we will have spent our tin busting 2m!
I'd like to see nesbit getting the odd game but he isn't ready for playing week in week out.
If forrest decides he isn't signing then I'd freeze him out, freeze him out anyway tbh :) .

6.) 28 Jan 2016 11:58:08
Why would you freeze out one of our players that has really come on this year?

7.) 28 Jan 2016 12:42:23
Cmcbhoy. Forrest has stayed fit. I wouldn't say he a has came on any. I still see the same player with the same abilities and same numerous failings. I don't rate wingers with no awareness, poor finishing and final ball. Added to that if he isn't going to sign a new deal we are going to upping his sign on fee which I don't think he deserves considering his input over the last few years.

8.) 28 Jan 2016 12:47:09
Any time I've seen Forrest this year he's been a class apart. I agree that he needs to be more consistent and that his final ball is not always the best but I think if he's managed the right way and stays fit he could well be a top top player. I did hear that he wasn't happy with the contract offered. He should accept anything with the injuries he's had.

9.) 28 Jan 2016 13:54:48
Ed, I agree that we should be going for a better standard of player than O'Halloran, but I think he is better than you are rating him, he would do a good job for us and that seems to be our market nowadays .

{Ed007's Note - We've got enough deadwood and average players at the club without adding to it. Who would O'Halloran get in the squad in front of, who would you drop for him? Don't you think that if he was any good he'd be at a higher level than St Johnstone by the time he reached 25, he hardly got a game down in England and now after two years of being an average player in a poor St Johnstone team you think he could do a job for us? And here was me thinking we were meant to be building a team to qualify for the CL.
By the way I've been told that we've never contacted either St Johnstone or O'Halloran.}

10.) 28 Jan 2016 15:28:25
He is an ok spl player fast but not a great finisher.
The only reason he has been given all this extra attention by the media is to soften blow to rangers when st johnstone turned them over. Now he is a star!

{Ed007's Note - Exactly, and it seems because of TRIFC's interest all of a sudden some people are thinking he's good enough to play for us. If we has signed O'Halloran last summer the fans would have been seething and rightly so.}

As a bank holiday Monday here in Ireland I was just reading up on some of our traveling fans yesterday "Police today in Dundee were a disgrace. Assaulting fans, shouting abuse, denying entry for standard banners and then, on St Patrick's Day no less, removing an Irish tricolour from a fan and ejecting them. The recent hysteria has fuelled this madness and could have caused a riot. " If there's any hint of truth in this it's refreshing to see efforts to cut out recent minority football thugs but how about the minority police thugs? Are they really Untouchable? What message does that send out to my Irish born youths., reluctantly and unfortunately for their safety? I'll not let them go, that's what. 🤨.

LeedsCelt

1.) 18 Mar 2019 22:08:08
I don't know what message it sends out to your Irish born sons, but your decision to not let them go, doesn't make sense. First it means the police win and the bias against Celtic support would only increase . Better for you to teach your family to behave well despite provocation. Police and stewards usually pick on Celtic fans with drink taken.

2.) 19 Mar 2019 10:29:34
Thanks for the advice OMC, I certainly have taught my kids how to behave and am extremely proud of them. My point is at away some games the authority treatment at some grounds treat us like wild livestock there and can be unprovoked moments by them as I described which my point is to avoid by not been there. Hail Hail Chris.

So despite the reaction to the sectarian abuse last week at Steve Clarke the Zombies today continued with it live on Sly Sports but nothing to see here, the silence is deafening.

LeedsCelt

1.) 25 Feb 2019 04:49:58
Gerrard has said he didn't want to see or hear that sort of behaviour . Nothing new there then, they haven't been seeing or hearing that sort of behaviour over the short time of their existence . Much the same as the fans of the extinct team .

2.) 25 Feb 2019 18:26:08
Where are the days upon days of reports about sectarianism at their game? No story on the banner either!? Anyone know what it said?

26 Jan 2019 22:21:07
Just back from the game today, good result, I noticed in paradise stadium that the Irish tricolor has been removed from the normal main central flag pole, just curious why?

LeedsCelt

1.) 26 Jan 2019 22:43:08
I think it's because of Brexit, 😀.

2.) 27 Jan 2019 09:26:30
If Bayo produces the goods and we want to give him some extra support from the stands then we only need to turn the Irish tricolour back to front. The Ivory Coast flag is exactly the same but just the other way round: orange, white and green. HH.

3.) 27 Jan 2019 13:02:24
The loyalists put an Ivory Coast flag on their bonfire in Belfast last year which was photographed and posted all over social media asking ‘What the feck did the Ivory Coast ever do against you? 🇨🇮.

New image uploaded to the
Celtic Player Sightings page entitled, SPL profit table shows Celtic with £15.4m profit after tax and Rangers £14.3m loss 🤣

LeedsCelt

1.) 19 Nov 2018 18:13:24
It’s a funny thing but the Daily Record has a headline that says ‘Celtic AGM could spring awkward questions for Brendan Rogers and Peter Lawwell’. This might seem a bit paranoid to some but given the disparity in the clubs performances both on and off the pitch, I’d have thought there are a lot more potentially embarrassing questions that could be asked at the forthcoming Sevco AGM. However, for reasons only known to the stenographers, they chose to ignore that and concentrate on Celtic. Like I said, it’s probably just paranoia.

2.) 19 Nov 2018 20:10:06
There should be awkward questions for the 2 of them. Summer transfer window was a shambles.

Couldn't give a feck what happens at the Zombies AGM.

3.) 20 Nov 2018 08:07:01
Nonsense.

4.) 20 Nov 2018 09:21:26
The summer window was definitely a shambles. For dembele to be sold and no replacement lined up beforehand is a joke for a club our size.

5.) 20 Nov 2018 13:40:54
Dembele was a last minute ‘toys out the pram’ situation which BR dealt with superbly. To get £20 million at that stage was a result. I suspect PL played a big part in that as well. We may have lined up a replacement had our crystal ball been more accurate. We broke our incoming and outgoing transfer records, whilst picking decent fees for Armstrong and Sviatchenko. We picked up a couple of decent midfielders in Arzani, Mulumbu and Morgan and a couple of great defensive acquisitions in Benkovic and Izaguirre. Add to that a pretty decent goalkeeper and close on £20M profit and that’s good business. I’m sure there’s a load of you on your PlayStations that can bring in higher profile players but unfortunately that doesn’t reflect reality. You’ll never see it reported like this in the Dailly Record so it’s up to you to decide what is a more accurate description of the situation.

6.) 20 Nov 2018 16:38:12
We are apperently a club in crisis. But we will never go bust. Love or Loathe PL he keeps the club in profit and a solid business. Summer window uninspiring. But sometimes better to hold than bust.

7.) 20 Nov 2018 18:45:56
Coybig all I'm saying is to let a top player leave with no replacement lined up is amateurish. We should have targets lined up incase anyone leaves never mind our top striker. It's not hard to have the feelers out all the time is that not what congerton is supposed to do? Agents give lists to clubs of players willing to move are you trying to say that there was no player available even on loan that could back up or even challenge eddy and griff.

{Ed007's Note - Dembele had told Celtic he was staying right up until the last day of the window and there simply wasn't enough time to get a replacement in without going down the Carlton Cole or Colin Kazim-Richards route of signing rubbish just to make up the numbers.
It wasn't long ago this site was full of people saying we didn't need a 3rd striker and that the Edouard loan was a waste of time.}

8.) 20 Nov 2018 20:21:06
Thanks Ed. Signing someone on deadline day because someone else leaves is amateurish. Liverpool did it with Andy Carrol and it was a disaster. We couldn’t afford a disaster like that. Congerton will be constantly talking to scouts and agents about players and that’s how we’d end up with Benkovic, Mulumbu etc. If you think it’s easy to find a striker who could challenge Griff and French Eddy, you don’t realise how good they are.

{Ed007's Note - Lawwell made a lot of mistakes during the last window (as did Rodgers and Congerton to an extent) but I really don't think any of them should shoulder any blame for what happened with Dembele.}

9.) 21 Nov 2018 00:56:12
No-one thought dembele would leave on the last day but would a 6 month loan for a man city etc project have been out the question? what if eddy got injured last month?

23 Sep 2018 14:30:32
Shocking that we have nearly 70% possession and we couldn't make any chances, the deep defensive is the tactic of every opponent these days that we simply can't deal with, and it'll happen consistently now until we be more direct with this negative offense. Disappointing result is an understatement.

LeedsCelt

1.) 23 Sep 2018 15:02:43
70% of the possesion lies with. boyata brown hendry lustig KT nad gordon fannying about at the back. no player can turn back tk goal and run at players and create anythjng. the football we plyy now is a given we are stuck in a rut and can't get away from it. rodgers needs to change it drastically. already a long season. onto wed which is gona be a big game.

2.) 23 Sep 2018 15:24:09
Especially wjen you see how quickly Killie pass out from the back to midfield we dither and take forever on the ball.

Always amazing to me I’d situations like these are taken so seriously now but when Lennon was physicaly attacked on the pitch five years ago by a baby want to be person and griffiths booked for picking up a bottle thrown at him while taking a corner against linfield was treated as football banter 🥴. I assume you protested then?
