I think the best choice as our managerial team would be Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane as his assistant and successor, bums on seats, Champions League football guaranteed! Go get him.

Your living in a fantasyland if you think that would happen. The two of their reputations in the game, speak for themselves and I personally don't think they would disrespect themselves by signing under constraints in operation by PL.

A club our size should always have had a team of that calibre at all times.

Why go back to the past? MON was a great manager but he also left us in a bit of a mess financially. Big bobo sat on 30k a week in reserves for 2 year I think. He also had to spend a hell of a lot of money to get where we did. He also has the Euros this year. We need someone in just now so they can evaluate the squad before the European campaign kicks off.

A lot of supporters I have spoken to, see that as a 'dream team' but I agree with DN30 that it would be unlikely under the current regime at Celtic Park and I don't know if MON would return?
Another problem would be the purely financial, both in salary and budget for players as I am sure they would have potential targets well in excess of the current calibre of player at the club.
The necessity for change is obvious and the board have to heed the fan-base to some degree and learn from their recent mistakes.
It is a real shame that out of all the rich and famous Celtic fans around the world can't get together and oust the current penny pincher's and pretenders that have reduced us to mediocrity.
Now it's my turn for some pie-in-the-sky.

I think we will get Maccabi Tel Aviv, who is their CEO, none other the Mr EBT Martin Bain!

I think we will get Malmo

2.) 06 Aug 2015 15:06:01
I wonder if his baldy heid is now completely black?

3.) 06 Aug 2015 16:53:28
I wouldn't want the Israelis. Zahavi, who we were linked with, has a phenomenal record from midfield and I could just see that being one of those coming back to bite us on the erse type of things.

As much as we need, and should improve for the next round. I think RD was right in saying we'll not face a more resolute opposition than Qarabag. I was blind ignorant I guess, and we weren't on top gear but that tie was much closer than I thought.

We were abysmal today, no pace, no creativity, no width too many playing playing 5 yard passes than having the ambition to go any affect the game, and for me it's all down to the management team. I've never been one for knee jerk reactions but I can't see this improving, it's got to be a change already for me, go for Malky Mackay! NOW

David we are a mess. Don't know about malky mckay as boss but we do need a change ASAP. This is never going to work. Game after game we look lost. We create no chances for the strikers, no passing ability that is meaningful, poor at the back. Can't see any progress at all.

2.) That was pishhhh, why oh why oh why ronny, you told us we would play fast expansive creative football but we play the same boring one systematic style of play get so far up the park then cut back inside, where it just tightens all the space allowing opposing teams get thre tackles in and making us look keek why won't anyone just try and go past the last man and swing cross after cross into the box at least ruffling up there defence because although we were crap today Motherwell looked comfortable with what they had to deal with, totally scunnered tonight

Ed come on give us some names, all is very very quiet!

DavidC1888

{Ed003's Note - Tom,Dick and Harry. How's that ;-) }

1.) Ed, you're probably closer to the truth than anyone knows.
We'll probably end up with any old Tom, Dick and Harry in a vague attempt by the Board to appease the fans!

2.) Ed cannot give you any names, No One is Comming, Hooper was approached last night, but a Defoe "No Way" Response

3.) Phew! had to go get my glasses a thought that read Tom Dick & SALLY! :-)

I have heard that Celtic have a decent chance of getting Javier Hernandez on loan if we qualify for CL, thoughts?

DavidC1888

{Ed007's Note - Hernandez will more than likely be joining Juventus, Spurs and Southampton are also interested but the player prefers Juventus and could be used as part of any deal to take Arturo Vidal to Old Trafford.}

I completely agree with Marty, HamiltonBhoy you have no idea what you are talking about, Neil has been nothing short of awesome as our manager having a successful team on the park and working to a tight budget, what do you hope to achieve n a 2M net spend last 16 of Europe, beating Barca, Ajax and Spartak, teams with hugely superior budgets on the way. Morton was a freak result apart from that we have lost 2 games domestically all season, grow up

I think you are being far too harsh on Jamesiebhoy, he always gives us an extra dimension with his blistering pace, yes he has been injury prone, let's hope that changes.

Your all doom and gloom Timalloy I think that Ronny will turn it around and get us to the Champions League and beyond, we as fans can't understand what it's like to be out on the park knowing that if you draw or lose you will still be Champions.
I hate to say it but I'm not a fan of the GB constantly singing at home games, I think the team have to earn our cheers.
