Wanted to get back to transfer activity as the mad month approaches. Is there any transfers we know are likely coming our way. I have said I'd of liked a decent centre back, even better right back and a left winger to challenge or even out do Sinclair on the opposite wing. Saying that we've got one centre back coming in (unsure of the quality and Europa league cup tied) and news on a right back? How about musonda?

Don’t want Musonda if it’s a loan

Sign permanently or stay a prospect in the EPL reserves.

I'd take a player on loan for 18 months if it's to benefit our chances in Europe. It's not always about making money on player but progressing as a team at a competitive level.

A right back? Bring back adam matthews. Recently watching the team at throw ins has been brutal.

PMCF I liked Matthews but I'm sure he scrutinized the club when he left. I think we could do better.

We need to be more dangerous from set plays, but I don't think Adam mathews is the answer.

If we hadn't played 10 games more than any other team in SPL . We would have 30 full days to train and practice set pieces . I am sure that would make us more dangerous from them.

Morning EDs the Daily Mail are surely reporting wrong stories with reports today saying we have put a bid in for Dundees Jack Hendrey.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Yes it's wrong, we haven't put a bid in yet.}

31 Dec 2017 12:10:07
Aye just seen Dundee have replied by saying no bid has came in and that the figure would need to be higher. Hope we are not going to intertain a bid we must be looking for someone with more quality surely ED?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We will be bidding for Hendry in the coming days/weeks and if he's signed he will be loaned back to Dundee until the summer.}

Ed this is a development yeah. And future potential I guess. Can you see a another established/ experienced cb coming in also alongside compper.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I wouldn't be surprised to see Caulker signed in January. The defence will be overhauled over the next 2 windows and the plans are that Sviatchenko and possibly Simunovic will be sold next month. Boyata will leave in the summer along with Simunovic if he doesn't leave in January.}

31 Dec 2017 13:19:28
Why that ED no point in buying for looking ahead we need the talent in now not later do u see anyone come in this window that will be first team ready?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I think that'll depend on what's happening with Simunovic next month. Gamboa will more than likely be moved on in January as well.}

Cheers EDs happy new year when it comes.

{Ed007's Note - And to you buddy.}

I'm glad the CB issue is being sorted as it has been our weakness along with GK. Caulker, Compper, Ajer, Would still leave us short if Erik, Jozo and Boyata leave. I read big Eck was slating Ajer saying he's slow and doesn't look like he will be a develop into a top class defender! Any news on the GK issue ED? Remember you saying both are getting on a bit and maybe the possibility of Bain as a stop gap but Hibs have just signed him for the rest of the season?

People keep saying the goalkeeper issue. Well talk of issue is nonsense, yes kicking the ball is not great but he is a really good keeper. We've had 4 clean sheets since Hearts scored 4 whilst the team hasn't been in great form. Gordon stopped us from losing against Rangers. The biggest issue is the style of football. Defenders continuously go back they way when other teams put them in pressure. They often don't look for the ball in return or marked out and there is no height in the team so highballs usually come straight back. We get away with it by most smaller teams but good teams read our play to easy.

On the premise that all goalkeepers are bombscafes I agree with the above. Even the best in the world get spotlighted when they screw up. I guess the gk issue has to be the whole defence issue really. but the general consensus in here us that we need a better all round goalie to make real progress.
