I think Brendan has got to be given some serious funds this summer, and wee need to get rid of some of the dead wood, ie Boyata, Simunovic, bitton, Gamboa and possibly lustig, love the big man though and has been a great for the club.

Positions required wee all know what wee need gl, cb and rb, a no nonsense cb and a right back in the same mould as Tierney.

If wee get the defence sorted I think wee can go places next year and definitely be better in Europe.

What can I say about Scott brown though wee are going to find it hard to replace him, under Rodgers he has transformed into the player I always thought he should be. he has been immense since Rodgers came.

We have had a great result . An exciting game with many player missing and with the officials do their damnes . Surely we can bathe in this glorious excitement and worry about team buildings another week .
Enjoy days like Sunday, we mightn't always have them .
We survived the 1990's with very little to get excited about.

2.) 14 Mar 2018 00:43:13
Izzerrie says rodgers was angry when he was allowed to leave that worries me.

3.) 14 Mar 2018 08:52:33
The only reason it was a tight game was because our defence is a shambles which should have been fixed three windows ago. Sitting back and enjoying the moment has been our downfall for decades. We know what needs to be done that will ensure many more great days. It is the professional thing to do to continually improve. The defence have had enough chances. They can’t keep weans out of a close, even in the spfl.

We require CL money to leave Sevco in our wake. To achieve that we need to plan to get players in, not projects. We do that and humiliating defeats will be reduced. Boyata sold the jerseys against Bayern and tried to do the same on Sunday. Times up. It was up three windows ago. Rogers needs to fix our Achilles heel or any hopes of being a competitive CL team are utter fantasy,

We can and should dominate well beyond 10. That requires a defence worthy of the name. Broony can’t dig them out every time. KT and possibly Ajer are two of the four. With back up required we still need three quality defenders. Comparre isn’t the answer either.

Four CL qualifiers require action now to identify targets. Sitting about basking has cost us many times. We can do both, fix the defence and even more basking happens, don’t and we will be sitting once again lamenting another opportunity to bury Rangers and having a go in the CL.

Sunday showed Rogers he has waited too long. They could have drawn and the boost that would have given them would have been massive. When every team in the spfl know they can get at our defence, it tells you it’s not fit for purpose.

Boyata energised them and every team we play. Enough. I’m loving the moment, but greedy for the increased amounts of times this could happen. Sorting our defence and GK will ensure that. That process should already have started before Sunday, after Sunday, it is even more evident that what already needed to be done, now has to be done.

RB is number one priority with Gamboa and Lustig at the World Cup. But I'd hope we can move the deadwood on quickly as I can't see the board buying and CB until we sell who we don't want. Will be the usual biscuit tin approach waiting to discover our European fate before sanctioning transfers.

5.) 14 Mar 2018 13:29:36
There's a rumour there looking at Yeovil rb supposed to be highly rated.

6.) 15 Mar 2018 09:42:08
Whats wrong with Ralston, Hendry, Ajer, Tierney.
They are our future let them gel, make mistakes, you never know they could become a solid back 4.

7.) 15 Mar 2018 21:55:25
Bigsammy, Izzy had agreed to stay another year or two . BR was annoyed when Izzy said because of problems with his wife and children in England, he had to move .
Brendan was annoyed and angry as he thought he had cover at left back but was finding out near the end of the window he hadn't .
I don't understand your worry.

Thought wee made hard work of the win today with stupid mistakes, surely Rodgers has got to get the defence sorted out soon, this game would have been a stroll if wee had a decent right back and 2 decent centre half's. have to give credit to the rest of the team though as they all did a good job, special mention to brown nitcham and McGregor who I thought was outstanding today.

Well it's off to the pub to celebrate another league tittle☘️☘️☘️☘️.

1.) 11 Mar 2018 15:13:52
What about that young guy that hearts have on loan from Man Utds, is he a right back, he looks a prospect.

2.) 11 Mar 2018 15:38:29
Think when we had to play with an untested goalkeeper, it was risky to bring Boyata into a back three as he and Ajer struggled one-on-one leaving Simunovic exposed as well.
Boyata was a bag of nerves and although he made goal-costing mistakes, he gets some credit for seeing out the game as I seem to recall him going off 'injured' in a similar situation previously?
The reliance on the brilliant KT to mount attacks and the absence of a recognized right back was always going to leave gaps, but the stupid mistakes have got to stop and BR will act in the summer to bring in the quality that we have lacked for too long.

When we gave them the initiative, it showed great character and class to get right back into the game (twice) and even when wee scunner Collum started his nonsense we were too strong and experienced to let his influence detract from a great victory.

Ntcham and Brown were immense and McGregor had a storming second half. Moussa, Rogic and Edouarde, delivered very special goals and the organisation and cover when we were reduced to 10 was brilliant; whereas their begged, or borrowed journeymen ran out of steam, ideas and any belief that they are any closer than before.

3.) 11 Mar 2018 15:58:08
Who says now odsone is not worth a punt well done Bhoys what a result with ten men against 12.

03 Mar 2018 01:22:07
Think it's funny how excited the sevco fans are getting lately about a tittle challenge that will be over by next Sunday.

Let's face it if Celtic play to form we win at a canter, far better players in every position.

I suppose it will make this years treble a little sweeter to see their hopes of 55 dashed for another season.

1.) 03 Mar 2018 08:35:03
55 jamesy? they haven't even won one title.

Hi I am new on here and would just like to say hello to all the Celtic family on here.

I have a few questions I would like to ask and see the replies from.

Are the majority of fans happy with the way the club is run and by our recent transfer activity?

Do you think our club really spends every penny we make?, by reinvesting in the team?

1.) 30 Jan 2018 17:05:44
How can we spend every thing on player purchase? Celtic are a huge business that incurs huge costs mate. Think what our leccy bill is, trite i know, but a good gauge.

2.) 30 Jan 2018 18:15:19
I think when you see the annual financial statements, you will see the transfer budget is a mere fraction of the running costs and even profits made on sale of star players, never gets fully reinvested.
However, the club and business are being well run - especially when you consider the lack of co-efficient due to our domestic rivals 'brexit' strategy at the first qualifiers and the pittance received in TV revenue compared to many inferior teams in the UK.

3.) 30 Jan 2018 19:10:32
The annual accounts don't go into much detail and are more like a summary.

I would actually like to see a breakdown of our expenses.

4.) 30 Jan 2018 20:57:07
The first question can't really be answered till thursday morning and the 2nd question, i would say no, because we have other commitments on going what with the hotel museum and shop, all good investments. Welcome to the site jamesybhoy 👍HH.

5.) 30 Jan 2018 20:58:48
hey jamesie there's only one Jamesbhoy on here, change your name haha, welcome aboard mate.

Nitcham will be top drawer if he puts in the work.
To say playing with brown has made nitcham poor is just utter nonsense.
Nitcham didn’t try a leg in the sevco game and hid the whole second half, at least brown put himself about, wasn’t his best game but brown never hides.

I personally think Rodgers is off at the end of the season.
If we are only signing loan players for six months, think that tells it’s own story.
We should be looking at rebuilding for next season, Benkovic will be away boyata will go and the other 2 loan signings will be off.
We really need a permanent centre half in just now and a right back and possibly a replacement for brown, plus a striker.
This window will tell us everything we need to know about our boards ambition, come on celtic it’s time to deliver the players we need.

What’s happening with the boy weah? .
He looks as if he is the real deal.
Would add good pace to the team would Burke and weah.

All about opinions, but Defoe would have been a brilliant signing 6 years ago.

We hear the same story from the board every season regarding transfers that it’s quality over quantity and that quality is hard to find.
My opinion of the board has been us the fans have been short changed when it comes to our transfer dealings.
It’s the same every season we wait till the last minute to sign anyone, why can’t we sign players early and bed them in to pre-season so they are ready for the start of the season.

I know it is not always easy to get players in early with players going on holiday etc, but surely we target players from jan to the next transfer window, but the way we do our business seems to me we are bargain hunting and just trying to get players on the cheap instead of going for any real targets.
It just frustrates me as a fan cause we have the making of a good team, but just need that extra bit of quality in defence that could make a huge difference in Europe.
We must have most the champions league money still in the bank as when you tally up what we have spent and what we have brought in on player sales their is only a difference of a couple of mill.
Yes the board deserve credit for a lot of things they have done right, but also deserve to be criticised for not being ambitious enough.

I wouldn’t say we played bad at all today, especially the first half. we could have been 2 or 3 goals up if it wasn’t for McGregor.
Also thought Forrest had a decent game to be be fair.
When they scored the game changed, we looked dead on our feet at times, probably cause a few players have played international football and a couple just back from injury. rogic was a mile of the pace of the game.
In the end the team showed why we are champions and found a way to win the game. Hh.

Is the rumours true about Timothy weah coming on loan true?
He looks a fantastic player from what I’ve seen of him, his old man was decent too.

The game against them will be another walk in the park. watched their game v hearts yesterday and they are murder, will be surprised if we don’t take at least 3 of them.

Great result yesterday although we never hit top gear. aberdeen made it tough for us, cup finals are all about winning though and that’s what we do best. Hail hail.

After a slow start to the game we played very well indeed, lots of positives to be taken from the game.
Ajer is going to be some player for us, nitcham was brilliant, edouard has a touch of class about him.

Can definitely see a player in young Hendry but don’t think he is ready to play against the big guns in the champions league.
Forrest has improved tenfold since Rodgers took over.
Things are looking very good for us at the moment and with hopefully another couple of quality additions to come it’s going to be a great season again☘️.
