Dire performance tonight for me. All Celtic seem to be interested in chasing is midfielders in abundance and strikers. what about the defence? Hendry, comper, jozo ( who couldn't even get a game in front of hendry) boyata anaw, I'd get shot of the lot of them. Wee Tierney must be wondering when he's going to get something decent to play beside as we could replace everyone else in that back line as far as I'm concerned. That result sees us out tonight no question, we couldn't even trouble them when they went to 10 men. absolutely sick.

Thank you Mr Lawell. Just cost us £60m. Hope your bonus isn’t affected. Course it isn’t, it’s about money in the bank isn’t it?

And we have plenty of that, we’ll we did until you fecked it up.

Hope you’re happy. With your bonus I mean.

Defensive ballsup once again. But we never needed defenders. Or anybody really did we? Dithering cheapskate who just cost us a fortune to save a bag of shrapnel. Genius.

Totally agree disgrace of a defence.

That was shocking by Celtic tonight. I thought KT and James were super tonight. The team lacked the touch of class that the supporters were promised and as usual sold short. Even Scott Brown has a nightmare in midfield. I hope that Muppet lawell enjoyed watching that rubbish because it's his fault the quality at this level isn't there. We couldn't even create any clear chances when they were down to 10 men for over 30 mins. Have to say their defence was super and there CB number 4 in particular. With our away record and watching that performance it's hard to see us get a result over there. Fingers crossed l am wrong. Also feel for BR God only knows what he is thinking.

Thought we played well first half, full of energy, moving the ball well, creating space and scored a fantastic goal. Then calamity!
They surprised me with their fitness and sharpness for their first game of the season, but it was our slackness and naivety that cost us - yet again in Europe - and we never recovered, losing confidence and composure and making wrong decisions.
Big Eddy is clearly not a lone-striker and needs a partner to play off and link with, like we saw in pre-season and earlier qualifiers and we really don't capitalize on the vast amount of set-plays we get in most games. Possesion and ball retention is always very good but that final ball (especially crosses) is poor.
They definitely have the advantage, although - unlike Rosenberg we will not be able to play as negatively and that's a good thing as we have never been comfortable as a defensive team.
A 2-2 draw or better, would be 'fantasy football' and a couple of decent signings in the meantime would give everyone such a lift.

Blackhillbhoy ya the defence was poor except KT but the middle field are so one dimensional is it unreal. Forrest and Mc Gregor played well but no support. All that did was pass over and back in front of their defence. Very little quality in mid field. Brown has a shocker.

Aye it’s the defence fault we couldn’t break them down. Unreal.
Thought we played well against a very organised side. If we can go out and dictate play and force them into another defensive performance we can definitely score over there.
Keep the faith bhoys.

What was the score did we lose 4 0 art media? You would think so. Support? One disappointing result it's like we have been relegated or something. Have an opinion by all means but are we suddenly a poor team? This us the team pratically that won double treble. Be dissapointed but at least keep a grip on things.

Whilst we know we're not lacking in numbers at Celtic and there is players needing trimmed from our squad what is the hold up in getting quality in at our level? Surely we must've known long long in advance were we need strengthened. Without hitting any panic button, the boy mcginn would walk from Easter road to Celtic Park and you could clearly see Brendan's frustration today as he clearly wants the boy in. surely if Brendan wants mcginn regardless of anyone else's thoughts the board should make it happen, we're not talking mega dough here to get this lad.

Good stuff, don’t want players that aren’t committed to our squad. I can’t believe we haven’t a list of central defenders we fancy without denayer’s name on it.

{Ed007's Note - Oh there'll be a list but how many of them suit Lawwell's plans?}

I’ve absolutely no doubt Petrie would prefer to deal with villa instead of us when it comes to mcginn and if it’s true that Hibs were changing the goalposts regarding his fee then I find that strange as well. Surely a bid of say £2/ £2.5 million with maybe Allan or Christie thrown in would’ve been enough for Hibs to accept? I don’t accept there wasn’t a deal that our board couldn’t have came to if Brendan 100% wanted the boy in. All that said, if reports are to be believed we’ve now matched what villa have offered and if that is indeed the case then mcginn has a decision to make, he wouldn’t be the first player to travel to a club, agree terms in principle then move elsewhere. If he’s as big a Celtic fan as is made out and terms are the same as what’s on offer at villa then he’ll be back up the road to us, if not then we move on to players that do want to commit to our club.

Brendan has said clearly we aren’t as strong as we were last season so regardless of what every individual fan believes he’s the one watching these guys on a daily basis so if he’s saying that then that’s good enough for me. Where I do think Brendan might have a problem is we cannot keep stock piling players, we badly need to get bodies out the door, guys that have been with us for years now and clearly won’t make the team, Allan, Christie, kouassi, Hayes, comper etc then there’s guys the likes of hendry, jozo, lustig (who has been a great signing for us ) boyata who I believe could be improved on ( just my opinion) I mean boyata £9 million possibly more? I believe most fans would’ve bitten your hand off for half that last summer, I know Brendan rates him or so he keeps saying but my god you’d think he was the best central defender ever to grace the hoops. So far it’s been a very disappointing window for me, if we’re going to persist with the likes of ajer ( who I rate) and hendry etc then get someone in with experience at a good level to help bring these boys on. Sick of hearing about midfielder after midfielder, you’d think we didn’t need strengthened anywhere else on the park.
