So marsielle want Guidetti for £11.5 million Lolol take him! He is not worth anywhere near that! You can tell he doesn't want to be here. Fair play if he can get that deal but just another showing of financial power in other leagues paying over the odds for a mediocre player. Just out of curiosity what do you recon guidetti is on at celtic? And come the summer who could we bring in to partner griffiths up front. I know the season is not over and that Duffy is on a progression program, who would you go for?

Really hoping mate that Griffiths isn't the main man up front next season aswell need to get rid of all the dead wood strikers ie stokes balde pukki scepovic guidetti will be off so would imagine we get a good stricker on loan and buy another one from English league one for about a million pound. Griffiths works hard but he's just not good enough for me or in Europe was getting pushed off the ball far to easily on Thursday whenever he had the ball probally get slated for this but definitely missed big samaras especially in the European games

2.) This story with Guidetti is nonsense. Marseilles are in no position to pay that kind of money.

3.) I like Griffiths, think he does a lot of work for the team, I would play him and Scepovic upfront to see if they can develop a partnership, if Guidetti is away to Marseille at the end of the season, good luck to him, there a good player in there somewhere.

4.) Dont really acknowledge paper talk these days. They are just stirring things. To be honest I couldn't care less what players wanted to stay or leave club. No player is bigger than the club

5.) Whatever happened to his contract running out with City in the summer? How or why any 'journalist' is putting an £11.5m price on him is just laughable.

{Ed007's Note - That's just in wages I'm assuming, Jim, I haven't read the actual article.}

6.) Oops. Still a heck of a lot!

7.) I don't think it matters if it is in the Scottish media or not, there would be no truth in it .

All the possession in the world isn't enough without goals! We only came away with three points due to a fortunate deflection. My opinion and many may disagree but I recon that travelling support deserved better than that, Guidetti deflated, Henderson was falling over himself constantly and lack composure, everybody get the ball to commons mentality is predictable, I like Matthews but lustig should have started he earned it! Thought izzy had a good game some of his touches and activity down the wing was good considering the tight space he had to work with. Is Johansen injured and we should not have to rely on full backs for supply into the box all the time. Bring in GMS now! Biton and brown playing the same role in midfield is ok but you can see a bit more energy in the game with Johansen in position. Sounding like a broken record "We need to bring in Armstrong" I really can't see how we can compete with inter when we rely on a fluke goal to beat the leagues worst defence and bottom club. I know some games you grind out results before you all hit me for being negative on the team.

Stoogiedoo35

1.) Yeah was not a good performance but the last 4 games as a whole have been good. 4 shut outs in a row is a plus

I think griffiths/guidetti didn't work well unfortunately and we missed johansen imo. Thought izze and denayor both played well today but the rest can definitely do better.

Henderson will have poor games, he is only 18.

For me biton is a puzzle, I can't decide whether he is good or not really required in there

2.) The three points and another shut-out are the only big pluses from today in a game we dominated.
The defence can take credit for the clean sheet but to be honest, they had very little to do over the entire game and in fact Gordon had more saves to make than their goalie and that's where the negatives begin:-
To many bad touches and poor passes - not for the first time and very predictable in our play.
We were playing a very poor side and managed to create very little in clear cut chances and decent shots even though we had most of the play - including dead-ball situations.
Our strikers are very much 'hit and miss' with more emphasis on miss.
I look back at Pukki and Balde and they now look more useful than Scepovic and Guidetti?
I was actually starting to believe we were improving in performance, but not many of that team can be happy with how they played?
Missed Johansen and Stokes today in my opinion as they improve the link up play and add a bit of creativity.
Over all back on top, three points clear and I know we can play a lot better; so fair enough Bhoys.

3.) I think biton is starting to get his chance to play and having a positive influence on results there's no coincidence that he has been in the team while 4 clean sheets were kept! We missed johansen today and our 2 cb were the only two players that looked like they were willing to dribble through players! It's hard to break down a team with every man behind the ball on a small pitch! I think young Henderson even although not having the greatest of games today is showing massive amounts of potential! And some of Bitons work was tidy and skillfull if he can start to also play forward a bit more he is going to be great!

4.) Not his best game but young Henderson never hid or shied away and tried to get involved all game

Seeing as there is an unknown outcome of what Guidetti is going to do come the end of the season, I have been looking about and there is one striker that is standing out and under our noses in the national squad! Chris Martin of Derby, he rattled in 26 goals last season and hit 14 already this season. I recon he could be the holding striker we need like Big hartson and Sutton in previous years. Big target man that can command the opposition box. Just a thought. Dunno his value or contract status but I would happily like to see him bully defences up here. What you think Ed?

Stoogiedoo35

{Ed007's Note - Not for me, he's no better than the average players like Griffiths we already have.}

1.) Given Guidetti's drop in form, and the fact there's been an offer on the table for a while, Scepovic must get a run. I really like the look of him despite not having a good run with the players around him. He should be first pick up top until the end of the season to see what he can do.

No idea what they'd cost but my wishlist would be Jurgen Locadia, Robert Beric, Breel Embolo (probably out our reach) and Imoh Ezekiel (moved to Qatar in summer so probably on big money) and Kolbeinn Sigthorsson. There's a few big lads there too.

2.) JimTim I can't see Guidetti signing now. After a promising start, his form has dipped. Unless he starts hitting form again, no point him being here.

I agree with you about scepovic. He just needs a run of games and the service. If we sign GMS and say Ben Haim this window, playing on either wing could be catalyst for scepovic to succeed. His record at gijon was 39 games 23 goals, defo a striker there

3.) 18 Jan 2015 20:31:48
I for one wouldn't be to fussed if guedetti doesn't sign! Don't get me wrong he's a decent player but he's far from being a top class operator! I'd rather see griffiths and scepovic being given a run of games!

4.) Agree mate. Get GMS in now and even anoher wide attacker if Forrest, Wakaso, Tonev, Boerrigter can't get injury free or aren't sticking around. From what I've seen I prefer Scepovic's overall game to that of Guidetti. I think Scepovic drifts about and looks to bring others into the game more than Guidetti. Think that's very important in our current set up. Got a bit more pace and finesse about him too, and as you say, goals.

5.) Good goalscoring record but think he will be too expensive in terms of value and wages. Need a big powerful ST if we playing 1 up top and someone with pace

Confirmed pre contract signing of GMS to join hoops in the summer. Now go get Armstrong!

Stoogiedoo35

1.) It would have made more sense to forget GMS and just sign Armstrong but Celtic rarely do the sensible thing when they can save a couple of bob.

Looking across the last 6 months I like many CFC fans have not been buoyed by the football we are seeing on the park nor are we encouraged by the Deila/Collins coaching methods/tactics. How many of us is fed up with seeing a single striker up front? With a couple of additions I recon we have the potential to be a good solid team. The additions I would make is the reported interest in Gary mackay Steven, Stuart Armstrong, anya and as seen Shaun Maloney may be available for £1m bring him back sure he would do a turn linking up with broonie again. We also should move commons up front with guidetti and use scepovic and stokes as back up. Getting commons resigned is a must. We have an opportunity to have a strong Scottish player base in our squad that will play first team football.

Stoogiedoo35

1.) Did you watch the game against Kilmarnock on Monday? We played one up front and we played very very well. I'm fed up reading that we need to play 2 up front. It's not a magical formation

2.) One game against Kilmarnock does not make it a great formation to play! Deila is quick enough to chop and change the players in and out off position but not to change formation!

3.) 08 Jan 2015 09:49:48
Yeh we played one up front and done well, but that's because the man backing up the loan striker was commons.its so much easier playin one up front when he's on the park, with his goal threat and ability to make things happen in the final 3rd.im sure if u ask any celtic striker who they'd want playin just behind them it would be commons no doubt! If we allow this guy to leave for the sake of another year on his deal then it's nuthin short of a disgrace! Ask any manager or defender i. The SPL when they play us,who is the player the fear most! Think we know the answer to that!

4.) Fair point. I'm a Commons fan but I've said before that I think you can tell very quickly what kind of game he's going to have. On his day he is our best player but he can be inconsistent. I'd give him a 1 year contract probably with an option to extend

5.) I don't think we are complete in any way but in some games not enough but in some games this year we have been great better than we have been in years. In my opinion the movement on and off the ball is a lot sharper in some games and I can see improvement apart from one or two hic ups but in a season that happens to most if not every team we DO need some new players in for the system that RD wants to go with but if he gets the players he wants in I can't see a lot of supporters not complaining at the style of football we go to see

6.) Let us be clear, the way Commons played on Monday night he would be a very useful addition to our first team squad . Unfortunately Kris has been very poor on his previous appearances for Us this season . We know how good he was last season but that was then .
I hope he does enough between now and the end of January to warrant his new contract .
Please stop going on about one up front because Celtic are playing the one up front formation in the same way as the top attacking teams in the EPL and Europe . Far from our one up front been isolated at Celtic he has numerous players up supporting him . If we played with two up front we could well have a striker isolated up front.
