Quite impressed with Norwood today, would be happy with him in our squad.

Can't say I noticed him apart from poor deliveries from set pieces and being poor defensively for the Poland goal.

Was thinking the same thing bud, can't say I even noticed him to be honest! Like I said before, If we're bringing in another midfielder then he has to be quality and a lot better than what we have already! Which I don't think this guy is.

Agree1 Disagree1

13 Jun 2016 08:13:03
Thot he was anonymous and his set piece delivery was very poor on that showing we have better players than him.

I thought he tackled well and broke up play and was quite neat and tidy with his passing. hopefully gets another run. out next game.

After watching Northern Ireland's match against Poland, I'm glad we didn't go for Michael O'Neill as our manager.
I would hate to see Celtic adopting those negative tactics. I understand that he doesn't have great players to work with but you still have to try and score a goal at some time in a match.
If they don't try and be a bit more positive, then I can't see them scoring a goal in the whole competition.

M O 'N brought defensive football to a new level. He seemed to be content with only Lafferty up field and everyone else either covering ex Celt Mc Govern or covering the defenders.

Not Celtic related but.
Sometimes we admire the accuracy of our commentators but last night in the English match the TV 3 commentator really got it all wrong .
Those who for penance or other reasons were watching may remember the English goal . Just before it the commentator remarked he didn't know what Dier was doing standing over the ball. He thought it was a waste of a player .
Dier hit a good shot into the roof and all of a sudden he was an English hero.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed007's Note - I read somewhere that Dier has never taken a direct free-kick let alone score one in his 80 odd appearances for Spurs but I know what you mean - as soon as I hear Clive Tyldesley's voice I start screaming abuse at the TV.}

12 Jun 2016 19:09:10
All that talk on here about Norwood, after that let's not talk any more about him.

Rank rotten.

Anyway Old Bhoy, Justice for the Russian 11 in the end πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

12 Jun 2016 17:28:18
So why would we want will grigg when he can't even get a starting spot over that big clown lafferty?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - Haven't you heard the song?}

12 Jun 2016 17:51:49
Ed the song is pretty catchy but the green brigade didn't make it up so it won't get sung πŸ˜‰.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Fingers crossed that the GB won't be needing any songs about him.}

12 Jun 2016 18:45:27
Agreed Ed there is far better out there than grigg what do you think of Norwood.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I've never been impressed by Norwood and would rather have Brown, Bitton, Johansen or McGregor than him in the team and I'd prefer seeing Armstrong get a run in the middle than waste money on another average midfielder. We've still got Kristofer Ajer still to come in, Henderson returning from Hibs and Mark Hill who I hope will make the step up to the first team squad next season so we're not short of numbers. Oh and Scott Allan.
Bitton and Johansen could be possible exits this summer and I'm looking for a bit ambition from the board than Norwood.}

12 Jun 2016 18:51:51
Was thinking the same thing and oh aye defences are terrified when grigg sitting in the bench. Boys meant to be a goalscorer and that big plonker starts before him.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - I still can't believe there were people wanting Michael O'Neill to replace RD!}

12 Jun 2016 20:32:56
There is only one player in the six counties team that is anywhere near Celtic standard and that is S Davis, who has written in his will that he wants his ashes spread at the sports direct stadium, so we won't be signing him (thank god) the rest are pish.

Agree2 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 20:12:28
I agree Ed we have better all ready.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 20:25:26
Ed the ones wanting him to replace RD will be the ones wanting Allan to get a run in the team, thinking cause the zombies wanted him he must be decent.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2016 14:00:26
Ai think if we sign a midfielder he needs to be one hell of a midfielder . We have loads of fairly good midfielders at Celtic including Ajer . I am confident that B Rodgers will be able to field a very good midfield and also have alternatives.

Was watching an old clip of Gentile v Maradona game. Maradonna in his prime, not the overweight coke snorter that tore England a new 1 but a Maradona in his prime. Gentile had him in his pocket. Classic defender, what would you not give for a player like that now.

Gentile made John Greig look like a Nobel Peace Prize winner.

Just read an article by Noel Hunt absolutely raving about BR about his man management skills his training and he was an absolute gentleman to boot.

Desparately trying to talk himself into a move perhaps?

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 12:11:46
Nah he's about finished he's doing his badges was saying when he was injured during his time at reading BR used to send him to watch games and how he got him to learn tactical side of game.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 14:45:27
Quite a smart idea. He may do the same with Brown as he's quite keen on doing his badges and helps out with the youth teams a lot.

Kevbhoy I am sure Brendan Rodgers has some good ideas, not just good dental hygiene but also ways of encouraging the best out of his players .
He seems to know how to sell season tickets as well . Without been seen to do anything himself, he has now sold the most season tickets in any one year in his career so far .

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 18:28:57
The season books are all sold out because he's the highest profile manager we could have hoped for and the club have showed some real ambition in bringing him in.

Noticed we're playing strum Graz on our pre season tour, did anyone happen to see there score in a friendly tonite? All I'll say is I just hope ambrose isn't playin! πŸ˜†πŸ˜†.

I don't understand how they managed to lose the 2 goals lol.

12 Jun 2016 10:37:40
Kev, they rushed off just before half time to be first to the tea and cakes and opposition scored then ref blew half-time whistle.
Same at full-time, manager promised to buy everyone a drink at the bar.

12 Jun 2016 15:45:21
I see someone has disagreed with my wee joke reply. Guess one of Strum's opposition supporters must be on this site and he took objection lol.

Agree0 Disagree4

12 Jun 2016 22:29:02
wow, 3 disagree's must be some supporters club.
Ed, I just figured a use for those buttons (agree/ disagree)
Run a competition for who gets the most disagrees next season.
Of course, you might disagree with that suggestion.

{Ed007's Note - Timallloy will win that no problem.}

11 Jun 2016 22:31:58
Ed, seen Valdes has been released by Man United. Ball playing GK with a better presence than our current. What's the chances if any?
