At todays press conference I hope when asked the inevitable question of apologies to the Celtic fans by firing back with the question am I the first manager to leave a club mid season? Am I the first to make a move from a lesser league to probably the richest league in Europe? He won 7 out of 7 trophies and left us with a huge lead in the league, jeezo if he has to apologise for that then the worlds went mad. Celtic were hugely compensated when he left and nobody knows the reason behind him going when he did, but I suspect when the board heard how much compensation Leicester were prepared to pay and the position the Club were in at the time, there wouldn't be too many obstacles put in his way.
If Brendan does make any kind of apology it will be embarrassing and a sign of weakness from him.

Stevie26 good post mate. I think it's cringeworthy gb expecting an apology. End of the day he didn't leave us in a bad position, if we were in 2nd place I highly doubt he would of left when he did.

I'm happy Brendans back. Best candidate for the job and looking forward to next season.

Time we moved on from this. some fans need to grow up its the nature of football. we are a massive club in a poor league that's why players move on, and managers are no different. bottom line is he's the right man for the job. ask your sevconians pals they didn't want him back and that tells you everything.

yes he is the first manager to leave celtic mid season - and i don't think people expect an apology, but an acknowledgement of the situation would be helpful.

It wasn't exactly mid-season. was there not just 12 games left and 8 points clear with a far superior goal difference.

It’s hilarious, people complaining about Celtic employing one of the best managers in the UK ?. He’s a top 10 premier league team manager any day of the week! Could’ve done a job at Tottenham etc but they jobs are just poison chalices. Lucky if you last 2 years in the pub league nowadays.

The league and cup could easily have been lost due to him slithering away. his actions led to lennon getting the job as a cheap option for the board . the football side then goes backwards under kennon allowing them to stop 10 with a rubbish manager and team . do I blame rodgers for that yes I do . and as much as anyone doesn't like/ agree / or whatever I have avery right to express that opinion . if you're happy so be it but don't preach if I or others voice our disgrunttlment over his appointment .

Lennon getting the job “as a cheap option” was down to the board and PL. losing out on the 10 in a row was down to the board keeping Lennon in place when everybody except them knew that he wasn’t up to the job. How can you blame Rodgers for that. Was I happy when he walked, feck no! But to blame him for the following season is crazy.

In the 3 seasons Brendan was previously at Celtic,
Our Net spending was about Zero.
Our expenditure was the same as our transfer income.

I don’t see Brendan wanting an apology from Celtic, for not backing him in the transfer market but still demanding we qualify for the CL groups stages.

I’m not expecting an apology and I don’t want one.
I don’t see why any other supporter would demand an apology.

After taking over from Brendan Rodgers,
Neil Lennon done a good job for 18 months domestically and also in Europe.
But then the behind closed doors season was a total disaster.

It's not just the fact that he walked away during the season he wanted take our backroom staff with him and leave us with nothing. He is a rat and will always be a rat.

Brendan was in charge of 49 competitive Celtic games in the 2018/ 19 season.
Hardly mid-season with the title practically already in the bag.

So by your logic DRB, if Rodgers wins the treble next season and then fails to win anything the season after its Anges fault?

I just want to move on. He didn't lose us anything, he didn't give NL the job and to be honest NL had clearly to deal with a lot of players who wanted to leave but do we blame them, no BR is to blame for it all and all he did was accept a great opportunity after winning everything he could for us and leave us in great position in league. What happened thereafer is not his responsibility. He has nothing to apologise for, maybe he deserves an apology. If I left my job to go to a better paying job, would I expect to be abused for doing it, no I wouldn't.

Jeezo some of the drivel against Rodgers on here is ridiculous. He is now the Celtic manager and will have my support 100%.
