You’ll be fine Tim. I was awake for a procedure to install a portacath in my chest. I said to my missus “I’ll be able to watch what they are doing” she said, you won’t be able to see anything for all your chins. Cheeky git.

All the best Tim, you’ll be grand. The stent thing is a breeze, I just had 3 put in, they just give you a nick on your wrist and they work away from there, you’ll not feel a thing, and the surgeon was talking away to me the whole time, telling me what she was doing and teaching me some breathing techniques which I still use today. They keep you awake because of the difference in cost for aftercare, between knock out and awake recovery, if your knocked out they have to keep you under full observation for 3 days and when your awake you’ll be home in 24 hours. Don’t worry and we need you fit and well for Ed duties at Cheltenham.
