I'm having a pop at a few of our posters, sorry lads:) . the site seems to be Ireland players link daft! I can understand the thinking, some may want to play for us but come on most wouldn't even be considered if they weren't on the only passable telly on the the box at the moment. I'm not for a minute going to say get this tournament over and done with as football on TV all day is a blessing but this tournament is a stumbling block for our new squad assembly.

Rglen av got to say a think the Irish link has worked wonders for us, do u think for one minute we'd have got Martin O'Neil without the Irish connection, or Robbie or Roy Keane or lennon during playing days, it gets on ma tits when people say they're sick of the celtic minded thing for recruitment aswell, mcstay would have left us in his prime if it wasn't for that. We should take full advantage of the emotional draw we've got, not look at it as a drawback.

If the link is there and the quality is there then I have zero problem with it. It has given us a bit of leeway on a few and I'm glad it did. My only reservation is that the link blurs and again and again pigeon hole's. It is alarming. In my opinion it is one of our greatest weaknesses.

We are fortunate enough to have a club that can make a fan of anyone through our passion. In my mind that is enough.

Only for the Irish link at the outset, there would be no Celtic . The Celtic we have today is still very much depending on Irish Investors, investing big money from the heart and not with the idea of making more .

Aye a agree with that 100%. A think this might be the time where Desmond sinks that flagging ship in Govan, wonder if captain king will go down with it or be hung for desertion.

Hi Ed, how are you mate? I hope you have family obligations out of the way and your good lady has got a bit of peace of mind from somewhere (y)

Best bit of advice I ever got under similar circumstance was to leave it a week or two after events and get away a break buddy it's good for the mind just to switch off a little / unwind (y)

{Ed007's Note - Cheers, Jamie, that sounds great and I could do with the break but I don't think 'er indoors would be too impressed if I buggered off to recharge the batteries so soon.}

Glad to see you still have your sense of humour Ed.
That's what gets me through any bad times.
You might need that with the coming season. Hail Hail.

{Ed007's Note - I think you might be right.}

Watched the ROI game yesterday, Jeff Hendrick and Robbie Brady were very impressive, I'd like to see them in the hoops but giving the rise of the english championship over the years and the money it accumulates on a yearly basis I reckon we wouldn't stand a chance when it came down to fees and wages. I just hope BR can bring in that extra bit of quality we lacked the past couple seasons. I would also like to see some homegrown talent develop and given a chance. HH.

Would just add numbers, Hendricks IMO ain't better than Armstrong.

Players coming in must be better quality, Brady is another that can stay put usually when I see a Hull game he is below average.

I agree about the wage comparison with England but under NL and WGS we still managed to attract some really decent players from England and abroad and with our new manager, packed Celtic Park and CL or EL football we are still an attractive option - especially for players who may have an affinity for The Hoops?

Kev T - Brady plays for Norwich was arguably there stand out player last yr in a season when they got relegated.

As much as I rate Armstrong and I think he has the potential to be a quality player for us I still think Hendrick would add a bit more quality to our current squad. Robbie Brady has had a great season regardless of Norwich's relegation. He is a very consist player who would fit in well. Passing time - I suppose the lure of working for BR in a packed Paradise with the prospect of CL and Sevco returning would be aluring. I just hope we don't sign these duds that have been linked.

Sorry Bhoys, was thinking of someone else lol

Brady is what a left back, I'd rather stick with KT and dependant on BR formation he could also be a good wing back.

It's so hard to get used to Celtic shopping at cost cutter when i'd love us to shop at waitrose lol

Makes me sick seeing teams like West Ham sign Feghouli on a free when we are linked with Danny Graham and that half wit Fletcher.

Of the R O I players I think R Brady has a skill that we seem to be missing and could be useful, he is damn good at dead ball situations but may be difficult to fit in the team for general play . We have a hell of a lot of players especially in the middle of the field and I would be very disappointed if B Rodgers and his coaches couldn't get the necessary improvement in enough of them to leave us well served in midfield .
The sugar and the stick formula, Making promises of great benefits to be gained, threats of doom for non co-operation .
All the things R D tried but he didn't have the support of the big name to carry out promises or threats.
