ED any news on that rapid vienna striker {Ed007's Note - Nothing new sorry.}

Hmmmm.....anyone else agree that we dont need players until summer....and laugh if you want but I think Kris Commons might just prove crucial in the run in to achieving a treble for Lenny?

Still think we need a striker and central defender and could do with getting a few out. if hoops and stokes get injured then we're fooked

Commons should have been contributing ALL season and the shenanigans certainly contributed to our terrible patch. Theres no doubt he has ability and goals in him, but I still would like a big centre to capitalise on corners and long throws when the passing game isn't working.

Think we need another forward to be honest. If Hooper and Stokes got injured I don't think Sammy, Rasmussen and Bangura would cut it.

In my opinion we don't need any new centre halves I think Rogne is going to be a top class stopper and mulgrew has made an excellent transition into the centre of defence.

Dannybhoy you are spot on. I posted a week or so back saying how good Rogne and Mulgrew are.

Spend the money on a quality CF as we are well covered in all other areas.

Both Lennon and Commons have said he was injured. What the injury was i dont know. But i will take their word for it till i hear otherwise. Commons has said its been a stop start season and he wants to get fully fit to help Celtic win the title. I have read countless people on here saying this and that was said in changing room with no evidence whatsoever. I have also read countless people saying that Commons would never play for Celtic again. Well it looks to me like its all been a total over reaction.

I will, until i am proved otherwise. As i said, this site was full of rumours and people(including yourself or another Ed) who said Commons would never play for Celtic again if the rumours he had heard were true. Well it looks like they may have been if not false, at least exagerated a bit by the old football chinese whispers.

I dont know exactly what the problems were but I would imagine the fact that Commons was enormous at the start of the season was a factor.

People can say he had been bulking up in the gym all they want but I saw him in person and the guy had love handles, no joke he was unmistakeably podgy.

Was no injury,he'd never had a scotch pie before movin to us, for a conisuer like kris they blew his mind. hence he's had to spend last 3months in rehab

Just heard from my mate who is a landscaper that lives between Livingston and Malaga (8 months here, 4 months there) that there is a fresh link with celtic interested in aruna kone?! Seen this guy b4 and defo caught the eye, not too big but bags of skill for a striker! Not sure how it would or could work as he on loan to levante from sevilla? Good goals record although not had a great time at Sevilla!

ed,whats this about their players having two contracts?what are the implications of this?why would that be the case?artybhoy {Ed007's Note - If it is true then the SPL/SFA would need to be aware of this or Rangers would be in breach of SPL rules. Rule D9.3 states:

No Player may receive any payment of any description from or on behalf of a Club in respect of that Player’s participation in Association Football or in an activity connected with Association Football, other than in reimbursement of expenses actually incurred or to be actually incurred in playing or training for that Club, unless such payment is made in accordance with a Contract of Service between that Club and the Player
concerned..

I will be absolutely gobsmacked if Rangers have went down this route with contracts, it has happened elsewhere with pretty serious consequences:

I'm not sure where this rumour came from Ed, but darell king is known for lifting snippets off of t**tter and the like, so i would take it with a pinch of salt, especially considering all the shyte they're in already with dodgy contracts.

Definitely sounds like he's referring to the EBT contracts. how they might be construed as being 2 seperate(SFA) contracts i'm not sure, as the contracts will be completely different in text and conditions.
the part at the end where he says about the players being liable for the tax though, that's irrelevant as the player is an employee of rangers who are offering this scheme. it's the people operating and offering EBT's that are liable for the tax, and sounds like king is clutching at some exceedingly short straws......if that's how the rest of the comment went

I think that because they used the scheme to avoid a salary cap that it was more flagrant cheating than what Rangers have been up to.

Unfortunately I think that means its unlikely that they will have there 9 in a row rescinded. Pity.

Ed do you know when (if?) Rangers stopped using the EBT system?

is it true that celtic knocked back an offer from bpool for mccourt. i think hes a great impact player but i think its time he moved on. we really need to free up wages for the summer and really go for quailty striker. althouht hooper and stokes r 100% {Ed007's Note - There wasn't a bid as such, Blackpool made an approach to enquire about his availability on loan.}

how did things go with the boys from didier agathes acadamy read about them coming over but nothing since {Ed007's Note - I'm 99% sure they have returned home.}

Im sure i read that they wernt coming over till the summer to give them a better chance, with no need to adapt to the weather as much. {Ed007's Note - They were over for a look around and a meet and greet I'm 'semi-sure'.}

I think celtic should get rid of a lot of fringe players: cha, odea, rasmussen and the others, i also heard blackpool? Mad an enquiry for McCourt? Andyonr know how much? And ed do you rate wilfred zaha? And do you think celtic woul have a chance of signing him if we made a bid and price? {Ed007's Note - Zaha is a great player but big teams in the EPL are very interested in him. Crystal Palace are rumoured to be looking for around £10 million for him.}

There's fringe players and then there's squad players. We need Cha because he is excellent backup. But Ras and O'Dea I agree

Hi Ed first time poster but read all the time and the real reason I'm posting is bevause I'm fed up with all the names being flung about on here (cisse,daly,etc) but I don't think we need a striker as much as a lot of people on here seem to think. Any thoughts?

wots happened to the boy we signed from crystal palace or he left crystal palace in the summer and we signed him ? not heard anythin about him {Ed007's Note - Rhys Murrell-Williamson is still at the club. He stays near me and I speak to him regularly.}

I also meant to ask Ed, is there any news if Andre Blackman will be signing another deal at the end of the year, or is he just here to make up the numbers. He does have a lot of potential even though he's been a bit of a mercenary

Chad {Ed007's Note - I expected him to be signed to a longer deal by now and loaned out. Hibs were interested in taking him on loan but the bounce game being cancelled on the 3rd January stopped Fenlon having a look at him first hand.}

I hope he does, always nice to see young home nation talent in the squad.

Wolves would be looking for at least 12 mil I wud think.

Fletcher cost wolves 9 million and has done nothing but score goals since, 16 million would be closer to the mark.

He's in the premiership scoring a lot of goals for a poor team the same way Darren Bent did (I almost typed Marcus there, oops!) and he cost Aston Villa 22 million and I would say they are on a par. {Ed007's Note - Fletcher cost Wolves £6.5 million from Burnley.}

just a word on the cisse rumour people sayin aw hope not hes pi5h n aw that come on we need 2 be realistic here he would be a terrific signin 2 get a player whos played at the highest level in champions league, world cup. european chapionships would be a great addition even 2 the summer instead of rushing a buy that could potenially flop just my opinion tho
