ED any news on that rapid vienna striker {Ed007's Note - Nothing new sorry.}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Hmmmm.....anyone else agree that we dont need players until summer....and laugh if you want but I think Kris Commons might just prove crucial in the run in to achieving a treble for Lenny?

Agree10 Disagree10

Still think we need a striker and central defender and could do with getting a few out. if hoops and stokes get injured then we're fooked

Agree8 Disagree0

Commons should have been contributing ALL season and the shenanigans certainly contributed to our terrible patch. Theres no doubt he has ability and goals in him, but I still would like a big centre to capitalise on corners and long throws when the passing game isn't working.

Jungle Jim

Agree7 Disagree3

Think we need another forward to be honest. If Hooper and Stokes got injured I don't think Sammy, Rasmussen and Bangura would cut it.

Agree6 Disagree2

In my opinion we don't need any new centre halves I think Rogne is going to be a top class stopper and mulgrew has made an excellent transition into the centre of defence.
Dannybhoy

Agree9 Disagree1

Jungle Jim. Commons has been injured, and what was the shenanigans apart from wild rumours on the net, that both Lennon and Commons have said is nonsense.

Joeshmo1888 {Ed007's Note - What 'injuries' is that Joe? Yes there were wild rumours going about, but there were obviously problems.}

Agree1 Disagree1

Dannybhoy you are spot on. I posted a week or so back saying how good Rogne and Mulgrew are.

Spend the money on a quality CF as we are well covered in all other areas.

Agree2 Disagree0

Both Lennon and Commons have said he was injured. What the injury was i dont know. But i will take their word for it till i hear otherwise. Commons has said its been a stop start season and he wants to get fully fit to help Celtic win the title. I have read countless people on here saying this and that was said in changing room with no evidence whatsoever. I have also read countless people saying that Commons would never play for Celtic again. Well it looks to me like its all been a total over reaction.

Joeshmo1888 {Ed007's Note - OK Joe, you keep believing that.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I will, until i am proved otherwise. As i said, this site was full of rumours and people(including yourself or another Ed) who said Commons would never play for Celtic again if the rumours he had heard were true. Well it looks like they may have been if not false, at least exagerated a bit by the old football chinese whispers.

Joeshmo1888 {Ed007's Note - Like I said, believe what you want. When did I ever get involved in any rumours about it. I trust 100% what I know. You never did say what his injury was Joe?}

Agree0 Disagree1

I dont know exactly what the problems were but I would imagine the fact that Commons was enormous at the start of the season was a factor.

People can say he had been bulking up in the gym all they want but I saw him in person and the guy had love handles, no joke he was unmistakeably podgy.

Mac

Agree0 Disagree0

Was no injury,he'd never had a scotch pie before movin to us, for a conisuer like kris they blew his mind. hence he's had to spend last 3months in rehab

sly sports are saying that radallega wants out of wigan as soon as possible,anyone think he would be a good shout?

Believable8 Unbelievable8

Haha we couldn't afford him

Paddy

Agree3 Disagree1

Get a grip mate, wud cost about 10 mil. Think it thru b4 posting.

Agree2 Disagree2

Just shows how bad the english market is when hes vallued ta the 10 million mark the guys scorin record is terrible

Agree3 Disagree1

Hes out of contract in the summer so no where near 10 million ffs

Agree3 Disagree0

Great player, I dont think he'll come to us though.

Agree0 Disagree3

His contract's up at the end of the season so no money would be spent on transfer fee's. Get your fact's right before you post Nonsense...!

Agree2 Disagree0

He has been valued at well over ten million in the past, Wigan paid 8 million for him I believe so if you didnt know he was out of contract 10 mill would have been a decent shout. Keep it civil chaps.

Been on a few times but never said,...great site ed! Lol
Just heard from my mate who is a landscaper that lives between Livingston and Malaga (8 months here, 4 months there) that there is a fresh link with celtic interested in aruna kone?! Seen this guy b4 and defo caught the eye, not too big but bags of skill for a striker! Not sure how it would or could work as he on loan to levante from sevilla? Good goals record although not had a great time at Sevilla!

Big bad John {Ed007's Note - Welcome aboard mate, and legendary name :-)

Believable1 Unbelievable7

Cheers ed, my kids even call me big bad John! I might be his double, wish a could bang the goals in like the big man tho!

Anyone heard anymore on Ryan Donnelly

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Not seen him play but the reports are good. Think he is worth a punt as one to develop

Skooter

Agree2 Disagree3

He's a cracker, hope we are trying to get him then loan him straight back to airdrie to continue his development

ed,whats this about their players having two contracts?what are the implications of this?why would that be the case?artybhoy {Ed007's Note - If it is true then the SPL/SFA would need to be aware of this or Rangers would be in breach of SPL rules. Rule D9.3 states:

No Player may receive any payment of any description from or on behalf of a Club in respect of that Player’s participation in Association Football or in an activity connected with Association Football, other than in reimbursement of expenses actually incurred or to be actually incurred in playing or training for that Club, unless such payment is made in accordance with a Contract of Service between that Club and the Player
concerned..

I will be absolutely gobsmacked if Rangers have went down this route with contracts, it has happened elsewhere with pretty serious consequences:

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Cheers mate.you never know

Agree0 Disagree1

Where has this rumour came from? Any source to it at all

Paddy {Ed007's Note - Darrell King on Radio Snyde.}

Agree2 Disagree1

Ah thats why no heard anythin dont listen to they phone ins theyve not got a clue

Paddy {Ed007's Note - I try to avoid them as well Paddy. Complete sensationalism to hook people and get them to call in.}

Agree0 Disagree1

I'm not sure where this rumour came from Ed, but darell king is known for lifting snippets off of t**tter and the like, so i would take it with a pinch of salt, especially considering all the shyte they're in already with dodgy contracts.

i have a couple of infiltrators (good celtic bhoys) inside ibrox and they would have let this slip way before now

hope it's true, but cant really see it myself {Ed007's Note - I can't see it either as I said. It is a very dangerous business plan and would be suicide in the HMRC case.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Ed:might this be the "letters"(which might be construed as a contract in law) king witnessed? i think there might just be something in this.honest if this gets any funnier im gonna need incontinence pants! green jhedi {Ed007's Note - It might be Jhedi. I take it as he is saying that Rangers players had a contract stating PAYE and NI contributions and a separate contract saying how much would be 'loaned' from the EBT scheme where no PAYE or NI is applicable. The SFA/SPL could face action over this if it is true. The four copies of a players contract should be identical.}

Agree2 Disagree1

Good shout jhedi

what exactly was king saying? i dont listen to that drivel anymore lol! {Ed007's Note - Here it's here:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBlra6ME9ew

Agree1 Disagree1

If the letters thing is true(n i heard it from my accountant whos a big bluenose!)the consequences could impact right thru the scottish game,add the euro licence fiasco n it gets very interesting.admin at least i would think,well im off to the all night chemist for aforementioned incontinence pants got a feeling im gonna need them! g'night guys n ed007.green jhedi {Ed007's Note - Wait till you see that Jelavic has said a move to West Ham 'could tempt' him. #wheresLFCandManUtdnow #schadenfreude #dadtalkspi5h

Agree0 Disagree1

Definitely sounds like he's referring to the EBT contracts. how they might be construed as being 2 seperate(SFA) contracts i'm not sure, as the contracts will be completely different in text and conditions.
the part at the end where he says about the players being liable for the tax though, that's irrelevant as the player is an employee of rangers who are offering this scheme. it's the people operating and offering EBT's that are liable for the tax, and sounds like king is clutching at some exceedingly short straws......if that's how the rest of the comment went

Agree1 Disagree1

Is this another fabrication LMAO? It's just one rumour after another regarding Rangers, they're coming thick and fast these days!

TTG

Agree0 Disagree0

Was there not an Australian team who were stripped of their titles for something very similar? {Ed007's Note - No!! really? Could you find a link for anything about that??}

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha sorry ed, I posted before I read your link. Surely they cant have been that irresponsible? Surely? {Ed007's Note - No worries lol It opens a whole new can of worms if it is true.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that because they used the scheme to avoid a salary cap that it was more flagrant cheating than what Rangers have been up to.

Unfortunately I think that means its unlikely that they will have there 9 in a row rescinded. Pity.

Ed do you know when (if?) Rangers stopped using the EBT system?

Mac {Ed007's Note - Between 2000 and 2010 Rangers paid just under £48 million into the EBT.}

Hi Ed, first time in here, great site. just a thought on big fraz our goalkeeper, up until 4 weeks ago i would have happily got shot of him out the team but he seems to have grown into the jersey and certainly earned his crust on Sat..... he also harrages the defence a lot more now than when majstorovic was there {Ed007's Note - Welcome to the site mate. I have always stuck up for Forster (phew) but he has improved yet again this season, I hope NL gets him signed ASAP.}

Believable3 Unbelievable2

24 Jan 2012 21:02:34
Alright Ed , how's things ?

anyway don't know if this has been posted but Celtic want wes Morgan from notts forest

hail hail

Marco1888 {Ed007's Note - I'm good thanks Marco, Forest have said Morgan is not for sale in this window.}

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Forest may have said hes not for sale but how manytimes has that been said and players get sold? If they say a player's available then clubs will offer below the players value

Paddy {Ed007's Note - Leicester had a bid turned down yesterday.}

Agree0 Disagree1

A know but could have one accepted before transfer window shuts, Kenny miller wasn't for sale at any price then they shifted him off to turkey. Money talks

Paddy

Agree0 Disagree1

Miller was in the last 6 months of his contract tho and Rangers were desperate for the money.

is it true that celtic knocked back an offer from bpool for mccourt. i think hes a great impact player but i think its time he moved on. we really need to free up wages for the summer and really go for quailty striker. althouht hooper and stokes r 100% {Ed007's Note - There wasn't a bid as such, Blackpool made an approach to enquire about his availability on loan.}

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Cheers ed, great site. keep up the great work. {Ed007's Note - Thanks.}

Hey ed do u reckon there is any chance we will just a good look at ibrahim on Sunday perfect game for him 2 start with {Ed007's Note - I doubt it TBH.}

Believable1 Unbelievable5

24 Jan 2012 19:17:26
how did things go with the boys from didier agathes acadamy read about them coming over but nothing since {Ed007's Note - I'm 99% sure they have returned home.}

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Im sure i read that they wernt coming over till the summer to give them a better chance, with no need to adapt to the weather as much. {Ed007's Note - They were over for a look around and a meet and greet I'm 'semi-sure'.}

Agree1 Disagree1

24 Jan 2012 19:16:54
Wouldn't mind us making a cheeky wee bid for Falkirks Farid El Alagui, looks good in the air with an eye for goal, maybe worth a punt if we can get him on the cheap

Believable6 Unbelievable8

Ok he has got 21 goals this season but imo i would prefer a international striker with more experience,stef1967

Agree3 Disagree1

Is this lad contract out in the summer ed? {Ed007's Note - Yes.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Well y not give Falkirk 100k for him now and give him a chance in the run in its better than loaning players what u reckon ed is he good enough for spl? {Ed007's Note - I honestly don't know if he could make the step up. He turns 27 next month.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Gary hooper isn't an international striker and he's doing pretty well I'd say niether is stokesy (even without his fall out with trap id be surprised if he got picked ahead of kean, long, Doyle etc. The boy could be worth a punt if he's knocking in that amount of goals at his age..Markiebhoy {Ed007's Note - He is nearly 27 Markie.}

Agree2 Disagree0

This guy must b worth a wee punt what's it going 2 cost us 100k should get him. what u reckon ed would that b enough {Ed007's Note - There or there abouts I would reckon, but he is free in the summer so Falkirk might be glad of any money now. Or they could gamble and keep him to see if he helps them secure promotion.}

Agree1 Disagree1

2 b scoring 21 goals already in that league is not bad going at all ed he must b worth a punt we spent 2m on bangura and he's not scored yet( granted he's not played much) this guy doesn't seem 2 much of a gamble

Agree3 Disagree0

Bangura, Rasmussen and Samaras are all internationals so don't think that arguement holds much water mate.

IMHO I think giving this guy a bash would be a worthwhile gamble for such a small fee.
He has scored against THEM (twice in one game) and can scoe with his head.
Maybe we will get a close look at him this weekend.
Here hoping he isn't too good though Ed! ;o)

24 Jan 2012 18:18:28
I think celtic should get rid of a lot of fringe players: cha, odea, rasmussen and the others, i also heard blackpool? Mad an enquiry for McCourt? Andyonr know how much? And ed do you rate wilfred zaha? And do you think celtic woul have a chance of signing him if we made a bid and price? {Ed007's Note - Zaha is a great player but big teams in the EPL are very interested in him. Crystal Palace are rumoured to be looking for around £10 million for him.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

There's fringe players and then there's squad players. We need Cha because he is excellent backup. But Ras and O'Dea I agree

Agree0 Disagree1

What is the fuss about this Zaha? Another english winger with no final ball.

See that Zlatan Muslimovic has walked out on his Rangers trial and is training with Sunderland.

Believable11 Unbelievable1

First time posting Ed but I read a lot, the point I would like to bring up is earlier on the week you said the teams which finish 1st and 2nd in the league both enter the CL at the 3rd qualifying stage, correct? It's just I was 90% sure that whoever wins the league this year goes straight into the group stage and the rules change next year can anybody clarify this? Cheers Lambo {Ed007's Note - Welcome Lambo. I can clarify it. Both first and second place teams go into the CL at the third qualifying stage.}

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2012 17:12:44
apparently that zlatan whateverisnamewoz,you know,the next big ibrox superstar?well hes cut short his ibrox trial and opted for sunderland instead.rats always desert sinking ships,lol.artybhoy

Ed do you think we should offer sandazza a pre contract for the summer? {Ed007's Note - No, we can't offer him a pre contract. As I said when Rangers supposedly had, in the UK you can only sign a pre-contract with a club in the same FA as your current team one month before your contract expires. The six month rule only applies when your are moving to a team in a different FA/country from your current club. The player and his suitor club also do not have to disclose to the player's current club that they are in negotiations. If Sandaza had signed a pre-contract with Rangers earlier this month it would have been void and the player could have signed for anyone in the summer.}

Believable3 Unbelievable4

You just couldn't make this up. lol

Agree3 Disagree0

But did we not sign Caldwell on a pre-contract I'm not sure tho {Ed007's Note - Good point, I forgot about that. I will try to find out, maybe the rules have been tweaked since 2006 or perhaps it was only a gentleman's agreement. It is definitely the current UK rules regarding it though.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sure rangers done it with Alan Gow as well Ed, I wouldnt take the lad to be honest. Hes had a decent 6 months but he never really done much with Utd or Brighton when they were in League 2. If its not going to be a good calibre of striker I would leave it and go with what we have. I still think bangura could be a player......

Sk

Agree0 Disagree1

What about zaluska? He signed the pre contract on 23 dec 2008 then joined Celtic June 2009. Pienaar signed pre contact last January to sign for Spurs. {Ed007's Note - Piennar joined Spurs for £3.3 million last January. Did you miss the part where I said the rules may have changed. I am stating the UK requirements as of right now.}

Agree0 Disagree0

It's like that in Football Manager ed.I know it's a game but it's accurate with that stuff and it wasn't in last years version.

Hi Ed first time poster but read all the time and the real reason I'm posting is bevause I'm fed up with all the names being flung about on here (cisse,daly,etc) but I don't think we need a striker as much as a lot of people on here seem to think. Any thoughts?
Frankie Bhoy {Ed007's Note - I would still like a strong, physical CF brought in Frankie, and welcome to the site mate.}

Believable1 Unbelievable6

I agree with you I would like a big commanding striker, good in the air but I don't think it's vital
Frankie Bhoy {Ed007's Note - It's not vital as such but we have been missing a physical presence up front for a while now. It gives us that option when things aren't going well.}

Agree3 Disagree1

A plan B
Frankie Bhoy {Ed007's Note - Exactly Frankie.}

Agree5 Disagree0

Mate. If hooper got injured who would we put up front?
CB

Agree5 Disagree0

We need another striker end off, if Stokes or Hooper get injured or both for that matter you trying to tell me Sammy and Bangura are gonna win us the league.

Agree10 Disagree1

What are the chances of hooper and stokes both getting long term injuries

Hi ed! first time posting and was just wondering with seeing the fact that Baba signed for Seville for 2.5million if you have any insight why celtic didn't go back in for him if wee where so close to getting him in July why did wee not cough up and pay 2.5 for a top player in January ? cheers {Ed007's Note - Welcome to the site. I think the pull of La Liga was a factor. I don't know if the 'red tape' issues in the summer had been resolved either.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Cheers Ed, keep up the good work with the site mate!

just spokt tae ma mate who works at lennoxtown and he says a couple new players have just been ushered in the doors,but hes no sure how they are.anybody any ideas? {Ed007's Note - If someone who has seen them doesn't know who they are then how do you expect anyone else to?}

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Lennons down in leeds for a bounce game, not sure if they would be doing transfer business without him, or be assessing players for transfer for that matter, it's unlikely they would anyway, but not impossible.

24 Jan 2012 15:31:07
wots happened to the boy we signed from crystal palace or he left crystal palace in the summer and we signed him ? not heard anythin about him {Ed007's Note - Rhys Murrell-Williamson is still at the club. He stays near me and I speak to him regularly.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

No sign of seein him in the 1st team any time soon ed ? {Ed007's Note - I wouldn't think so at this stage of the season.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed Rhys has confirmed he has been let go by Celtic {Ed007's Note - Really? My nephew saw him on Friday or Saturday night. Not saying you are wrong, just strange.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeah he was on twitter few weeks bak saying he enjoyed his time at celtic but he has been let go! {Ed007's Note - Cheers for that.}

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2012 14:58:40
What do you think about Nicky Maynard ed? See he's talking to Wigan. He out of contract in the summer and you would get him for no more than a £1m. Got a good record through out his career in the championship.
Daz the Hoopy {Ed007's Note - I've not seen too much of him but he seems a decent player.}

Believable2 Unbelievable5

Bristol city paid 2 million for him and wouldn't hope to be selling him for any less {Ed007's Note - He could sit and bide his time and leave for nothing in the summer, or sign a pre-contract with a club outside of England.}

Agree2 Disagree1

24 Jan 2012 13:57:39
I also meant to ask Ed, is there any news if Andre Blackman will be signing another deal at the end of the year, or is he just here to make up the numbers. He does have a lot of potential even though he's been a bit of a mercenary

Chad {Ed007's Note - I expected him to be signed to a longer deal by now and loaned out. Hibs were interested in taking him on loan but the bounce game being cancelled on the 3rd January stopped Fenlon having a look at him first hand.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

I hope he does, always nice to see young home nation talent in the squad.

Celtic have rejected a Blackpool enquiry for McCourt. I don't see the understanding in this what so ever Ed can you? If we got 500k-700k we could invest that in a younger player such as Templeton.

Chad {Ed007's Note - I expected the deal to go through, it might still happen.}

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Can only imagine the fee doesnt match celtics valuation, time for the maverick to move on !!!!!!!

Agree2 Disagree2

The context in which you refer to Paddy seems to be negative. What do you mean Maverick? Did McCourt ever go on the pitch and play for himself and disobey the managers orders. Did he work for himself against the group? I really dont want to be pedantic but I will take the risk. Paddy is a good servant and offers something different, hes been a bit unlucky but IMHO hes not a Maverick...what do you think CFC is Top Gun ?? {Ed007's Note - Sixty four games in three and a half years under three different managers suggests otherwise.}

Agree7 Disagree3

Fleeting moments of brilliance, are not enough, hence the term, latterly has found himself in deep positions ,unable to be a game changer. 500 -700k . take it !!1

Agree2 Disagree1

Half a mill?for mccourt?bite their hand off.artybhoy

Agree1 Disagree2

Mcourt is the most gifted player at celtic by a long way . is the s**te style of football we play . thats why he cant get in the team

Not sure if Paddy wants to go to Blackpool

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2012 13:47:50
Well ed. I see Paddy aint going anywhere. Lenny turn Blackpool down. Just read it on Slysports news. I would be keane for Paddy to stay to the end of the season at least so he mite get a few medals for the great memories he has given us so far. Just like the Bellamy brothers hit let PADDYs love flow for Celtic for another season. Bigirishmac P.s ed I got to mention Keane Given and Bellamy in this transfer window lol just when ya thought you wouldn't hear those three names mention again. Lol sure the Craic is good. Bigirishmac {Ed007's Note - I think Ollie might come back in BIM, Paddy is unhappy about the amount of game time he is getting up here. NL wants him to play more but Paddy says he can't be ar5ed ;-)

How much do you think Stephen Fletcher would cost from wolves? I rate that boy highly...always scorring goals and great team player! Garry Sean {Ed007's Note - We missed the boat with him. Believe it or not but there is supposed interest in him from Real Madrid.}

Believable4 Unbelievable6

Wolves would be looking for at least 12 mil I wud think.

Agree2 Disagree3

Celtic don't have the money for this type of signing-unless Hooper goes first!

Agree0 Disagree0

Boat has sailed !!!!!!

Agree3 Disagree0

Fletcher would cost about 6 million - not the sort of Money the Hoops can spend unless they make a big sale.

Agree1 Disagree1

6 Million? no chance, pretty sure he must be worth around 10, he has scored against all the big clubs this season, may be wrong but we missed out on that one unfortunately, Keir

Agree2 Disagree0

Fletcher cost wolves 9 million and has done nothing but score goals since, 16 million would be closer to the mark.

He's in the premiership scoring a lot of goals for a poor team the same way Darren Bent did (I almost typed Marcus there, oops!) and he cost Aston Villa 22 million and I would say they are on a par. {Ed007's Note - Fletcher cost Wolves £6.5 million from Burnley.}

About the bounce game, it was in Leeds was it not and the U19's were at At Anthony's Park so no game at Lennoxtown it seems

Hi ed, ive seen a rumour from a few sources saying celtic have been offered Kenwyne Jones. Have you heard anything about this? i'm not sure if its realistic or not however if it was true then he would be the perfect signing.

Hail Hail

Logie {Ed007's Note - Stoke's chairman has said Jones will not be leaving this month.}

Cheers ed! Thought it was too good to be true!

When's the Celtic supporters going to realise that we won't get anybody in because of 2 things.1-Peter lawwell wants the wage bill down and the board have proven in resent seasons they will never back the manager in January when we could put rangers in there place. Rusty the tim {Ed007's Note - They have added to the wage bill already though.}

Believable3 Unbelievable10

The Celtic board get far to much grief. Celtic have spent plenty of money over the last few years.

Drew: agreed,i cant understand the abuse lawell gets sometimes from fans.jeeze look at the mess the dark side are in.we knew we had to curtail spending but lenny has plenty to spend and i think anything he recoups from sales will stay in his kitty for summer.plz dont anybody say fletcher...... HIBS WOULDNT SELL TO US n whos to say he would have worked out? we have the best crop of young players since"the quality street gang"(im that old!)on good contracts n have no need to sell.we have been lowering debt,and are financially secure.i think lawells played a blinder,with good buys n lenny in charge we could dominate for years. green jhedi

Agree7 Disagree0

Lawell wasnt my favourite person because we had Rangers on the ropes and we should have been 10 years ahead of them, but the longterm picture i appreciate the debt had to be reduced and wages had to be capped and finally the rewards are beginning to show , i was just dissappointed that it was all done so quickly at the expense of the team and the quality that was on the pitch at the time , we lost to the poorest rangers team for decades and thats what hurt.
Celtic players coming in look good, Rangers having problems surely its time we took control, Keir

just a word on the cisse rumour people sayin aw hope not hes pi5h n aw that come on we need 2 be realistic here he would be a terrific signin 2 get a player whos played at the highest level in champions league, world cup. european chapionships would be a great addition even 2 the summer instead of rushing a buy that could potenially flop just my opinion tho

Believable7 Unbelievable5

He has played at those levels but done nothing of note! you want a potential flop =well he would be my choice! green jhedi

On 17 January 2012, Cissé joined English Premier League side Newcastle United on a 5½ year contract.[9] The fee is thought to be around £10 million. {Ed007's Note - That is Papiss Demba Cisse, not Djibril Cisse.}
