Ok bhoys, now the footy has really started there seems to be differing opinions over players, which is great! So, fantasy manager time. Generally speaking of course, what would everybody's first XI be to be played/ developed based on what we know?

DE VRIES
(I'd give him a few more games as he suits the managers plan, apparently)

GAMBOA
(Same, but leaving ML out was hard)

JOZO
(Think he's a quality prospect)

TOURE
(Bit leadership)

TIERNEY
(Nailed on really)

BROWN
(Same, playing the sweeper role he's become used to)

ROGIC
(Would like to see him at CM, liked him in that area against Rangers, better in possesion, creative, concerns over fitness still though a bit)

SINCLAIR
(Got goals in him)

ROBERTS
(Just having an off patch, I'd like to see him more central and advanced, beating the last defender)

GRIFFITHS
(Liked the idea of him as a RWF)

DEMBELE
(Quality prospect)

Griff didn't really start scoring until put in middle jim. I also think roberts slows a lot of ply down as he has to beat men rather than run away / past them his final ball / awareness of teammates needs improving imo I'd like another cm armstrong? Poss and still ease dembele in slowly.

in my opinion Armstrong looks much better in central midfield than Bitton or McGregor and Forrest can rotate with Roberts, much the same as Dembele and Griffiths and we can play both strikers, switching to a back three to accommodate when possible?
I think this looks like the strongest available form team, but it is unlikely because BR would not want to leave out his new signings De Vries and Gamboa.

Fair point DRB, just thinking how to get LG and MD in the side. Was thinking pretty versatile though, not a strict 2 up front as we'd get overrun. Griffiths dropping into that area but obviously looking to get up alongside MD, because in the box is where he's best.

Bhoywonder . The formation you have illustrated is surely is 4 2 2 2.
I am not sure on this season's form we could pick Paddy Roberts ahead of James Forrest . There seems to be a real reversal in their form, last season Roberts looked the real deal but this season he is struggling, whereas Forrest seems to have started this season like a new player .

In all seriousness rayman Gamboa is only in because of the way our full backs are set up. Lustig is a top pro and a bit of a cult hero of mine. However I've got doubts over his fitness at RB anyway, nevermind having to get up and down as much as BR asks. Lustig walks into a back 5 in Europe, as RCB, I just think Gamboa deserves a few more games before we write him off.

How can anyone say they fancy Griffiths on the right wing? He was played there and when he didn't score people got on his back and said he wasn't good enough.

He's a central player but the reason he doesn't get took seriously is because he's not over 6ft tall. That's the only reason people wanted other guys in front of him.

Same happened with Guidetti and Griffiths was better than him then too.

Well that's it Tesla, Dembele has the better physicality for the point of attack. I'm not talking about LG strictly as a right winger either, more just playing from that position, cutting in, and providing a partner for MD when appropriate. I think it's important to have in-game versatility within the XI.

I think we need to break the bank in January or summer to bring in a top class goalkeeper, surely somewhere there is on who is just sitting on the bench or even vorm who iv heard mentioned a few times who's now third choice. But I think a realstic signing would be ward who was on loan at the sheep, who looked a class keeper and someone who could develop much like Forster did.

Agree with the goalie scenario. Would have loved Vorm great addition that would've been with Fasan given the chance as back up. For what I've seen so far De Vries has got to be the worst keeper I've laid eyes on. Gordon with all his mistakes at least he can save the odd shot. Still think neither should be here next season.
