What can you see happening with regards to the right back position this month? I was optimistic at the start of the month when we were linked with Castagne and Elabdellaoui, but now we are being linked with a young boy from Porto B. He may turn out to be a good signing, but I just think Lustig needs to be replaced with someone with a bit more experience of a decent standard of football.

We got him for free and he’s given us 7 years of good service. I get what our business model is and am behind it most of the time but sometimes you need to spend either a bit more on transfer fees, wages or both to get the right quality in.

My concern is if we try to go cheap again and the signings don't work out then it causes a major issue

Cos we have quite a big rebuilding job coming soon.

If the first signings like bayo don't turn out well then we will need to go spend again.

We could potentially waste all the profits we earn by going too cheap and wasting money as opposed to spending wisely. Fine line.

My biggest worry is the way BR is talking about singing. It sounds very like the summer. Someone there needs to realise we can not keep buy cheap no bodies and hoping they turn good. We have way to many examples of failed attempts. BR has stated it's going to cost to get in a good right back but do u think Celtic will spend it. I'm not sure but l hope lm wrong. I fully understand the club has to be managed in the correct manner but one striker who's unknown from ivory coast and 2 loan players for 6 months is not good enough. Yes there is still time to add to the squad and hopefully a CB and RB will come in soon. Celtic are the club that are suppose to have the finances so l think the club need to spend within reason l agree to ensure we get the 2 or 3 quality players required to push on to the title. That mob across the city are seemingly throwing every penny they have and more to ensure they stop Celtic. It now time for celtic to respond with quality signing and finish them off once and for all.

I think Dominic Iorfa could be a great bit of business, we should also probably pay a small fee to get him released from his contract early, however because lustig is still here and Ralston in contention we most likely will wait till the summer.
Iorfa played a big part in helping wolves get promoted, and at one point was wanted by a host of clubs.
BR might be the man to turn him into the player he was set to become. He's still young and versatile.
If rather we spent our money on someone like benkovic and get players like Iorfa in on a free.
As I've said before there is all sorts of hidden gems going cheap in eastern Europe, hopefully Baso will come in and prove that we can scout Eastern Europe leagues and get good deals.
No point spending big and it turns sour, it happens to plenty of clubs
Start giving our young lads a chance as well, Ralston first choice RB for rest of the season he will only grow as a player.

Turner have you seen much of the wolves boy don't even think he was getting a game on loan and we will go for the cheapest rb we can get you just know it.

I agree with you about Ralston. He was excellent on Saturday. If we had paid £5m for another right back and he had turned in a performance like that then we'd have been raving about him and stating that's what you get when you pay decent money for a player. HH.

Rather than just going for the cheap option and getting an average player that ends up stockpiling the squad invest a bit of money for quality as it's a problematic position.

Have to agree with u there bob. Not sure why BR keeps going on about a right back surely Ralston deserves a chance. I thought he had a good game in the cup and most times l have seen him he looks very tidy. Not sure why BR doesn't seem to like the lad. Ready made replacement for lustig there already and a home grown one at that.

Ralston is nowhere near ready he’s like Izzy in the way he looks good going down the wing when we’re winning but is caught out defensively his positioning like Izzy is poor. Not saying get rid as in time with coaching he could get there but as no1 right back but for me not yet anyway.

I think our business model is more than fine but occasionally you need to speculate to accumulate.
We need a 1st team RB now and should be able to afford a £5-8m player for that position.
Future stars come with an attached risk personally I want a proven international RB who will be ready for rest of season and for qualifiers early next season.

Do nor see Ralston as anything other than a back up . Good against airdrie but equally poor against sevco.

Every player comes with a risk.
Gamboa was a proven international right back.

We all keep looking for celtic to compete in europe, but to do that we need to compete in the market with our european counterparts not scrimp around with loans and cheap players. I know the old routine about our league is not as good and money is not there but its not The rankers and aberdeen we should be aiming to beat its the likes of liepzig, anderlecht and spartak moskow type teams. Until we speculate on some better players we will do nothing in europe. Hail hail.

singing the praises of young ralston is all well and good but remember he wasnt up against a quality team in fact they are two divisions below celtic so i would expect our player to be much better than theirs.

Our manager's greatest strength is improving young players . The most important thing we should look for is a young player with all the basic skills and the most important thing and probably hardest to identify when buying is the burning desire to be the best they can . Finally Christie. , Mac Gregor and Forrest got the message and pushed themselves to a different level under Rodgers . K Tierney had that desire from a very young age and pushed himself through all the obstacles in his way .
We don't know whether Ralston has that desire and determination .
