I know its early days but Lagerbielke doesn't look any better than Welch or many other CB's in our league. When scouting players does anyone go and watch them personally or is it all video footage. If he plays tomorrow we are in trouble. BR clearly doesn't fancy him as he played a half fit Phillips ahead of him. When all our CB's are fit he will be behind CCV, Rocky, Scales and Philip's. Is that £3m well spent? Every game he has played he has been poor on the ball (Ibrox) or caught for pace. CB's don't need weeks to get up to speed, their job is to defend, get rid and keep attackers at bay. Not convinced he has that capability.

I mentioned yesterday Brendan played 3 Centre Backs in his last European away match in Valencia.

It’s possible he could start with the 3 CB’s we have available in a 3-5-2 formation, with the wing backs tucking in when defending.

Hart
Johnston, Lagerbeilke, Phillips, Scales, Taylor
O’Riley, Calmac, Hatate
Kyogo Maeda.

I think that team would have a better balance and it would cause Feyenoord problems with our pace up front.
We played the same formation beating Lazio in Rome.

I showed my Son the lineup.
He mentioned if Phillips isn’t fit enough to start the match, we could play Johnston on the right side of a back 3 and Ralston at right wing back.

I think there’s a more solid look to that formation throughout the team but it’s fitting the players into that system.

Of course I am looking forward to tomorrow night’s football and I have to say I am the most relaxed than I have been before all previous games this season . Every SPL game was a must win game, losing wasn’t an option. Tomorrow night we are playing away against a better team. The worse thing that can happen is that we lose and lose big, I don’t fear that, I am happy that manager and players have enough pride from within to prevent a large defeat . Any other result is possible and I look forward forward to win, lose or draw.

The boy has only played one and a half games for us, granted he was a bit nervous at Ibrox making his debut, surely he can't be written off already, he'll only be cover when Nawrocki and CCV are fit anyway, he doesn't look any worse than Starfelt for me.

I think you're way off the mark, Chinks. The lad's only played about 3 games and you're writing him off. Our CB's job isn't to just defend and get rid, they need to be comfortable on the ball and the Scottish game is notoriously fast-paced which will take some getting used to. I wouldn't start him tomorrow but essentially calling him a waste of money at this point isn't fair.

I am not certain we can deduce that BR played a half fit Philips ahead of
Lagerbielke ahead of him on Saturday. Philips may have been judged fit before match and picked up an injury during first half . BR may have wanted to test a fit Philips in case he needed him on Tuesday night.

I'm confident we will get a result and hopefully shut a few folk up, our own included. If I get it wrong, so be it. Would rather be in our camp. Just an aside to write players off so young with little games played after moving to a new country, I just don't understand. I don't think BR isn't playing players as he doesn't trust them. He understands some take more time to settle.

If he plays them and they struggle, they are hung out to dry, he is hung out to dry. We should just be behind players instead of criticising so readily. Comment on the game for sure, but the way sometimes players are singled out by our own fans is shameful. We all want success and we all want better do we not.?

Feyenoord are decent but we have good players and a top manager too, so let's see.

I am confident that Lagerbielke will come good. A young guy who needs to get used to living and working in a new country…. Not easy to adjust to a completely new environment.

I feel he is a big step up on Welsh, who lacks physicality and also struggles with pace.

I suspect we might be a bit more cautious in CL compared to the SPL. With a bit of luck we might be in with a chance of a draw, but only if we score.

If I remember correctly starfelt had a poor start to our club and it was more than 3gmaes I am sure. So let's see how they young Bhoy performs in the latter half of the season before we start casting doubts about him.

We are always weakest at the back. I wasn’t impressed with Philips as he and Gus are no better than Welsh, and he isn’t good enough at CL level either. Scales is better than them all and will need to hold until CCV and Rocky return.
