So we were never a long term project huh, Ange? Well I guess M Bile was right. You are a lucky man. Plucked from reasonable obscurity and given a platform in Europe to jump ship at fist decent chance. Even staying not as long as BR. Well folks we only have ourselves to blame. Why did we think he was in it for the long haul? If BR sees out 3 years then moves on so be it. As long as we continue to dominate and make baby steps forward in Europe, then we find another manager (maybe JK) and keep going. Super excited to see who comes in this summer and I think it'll be a few really cracking players. I think we will once again be utterly relentless and another ???awaits.

Clearly he thought he had done the job he was hired to do and if reports are to be believed, he was looking to leave as early as the new year; then - like several players before him - he used us as a stepping stone to 'poundland'. I appreciate what he did, players he signed and the football we played. Maybe not clenched fist salute and badge slapping around Celtic Park - with one eye on the exit.
BR has been given a second chance to become 'immortal' and time will tell if he delivers on his promises and we progress.
Managers and players come and go and all we can ask is that they give 100% during their time at Celtic and that's fair enough.
Unfortunately in the last few years we saw players that never gave that 100% and even downed-tools for whatever selfish reason, and they are the ones that did more damage than others.

I think your being Unfair.

Ange came, saw and conquered.
I’m grateful to Ange for giving us a successful Celtic team back and I wouldn’t like to think where we would currently be without Big Ange.

Ange never committed to Celtic long term because he was on a year rolling contract.

buzz the one thing that bothers me about people saying were would we have been without ange. well we are celtic football we would have been were we have always been successful we had a poor season before he came in if it had not been ange it would have been someone else we had the finances and resources to march on and have that rebuild we needed.

the big question should be were would ange have been if it was not for celtic football club we he certainly would not be a manager down south. wee owe ange nothing its him that owed us and he bailed first chance.

Did I just dream how abysmal John Kennedy was in his stint as interim manager and more importantly Celtic are not a first appointment club.
Trying to think who we gave first appointments to.
Barnes
Lennon
Brady
Macari (I think)

Anyone I’ve missed.

Ange owes us plenty, he came and won just like NL and BR before him . He was on a 12 mth rolling contract as that is Celtic’s. favourite contract until manager has proved himself . As a European Manager Ange was a total unknown rookie and should have been very well pleased Celtic came in for him . Without us he wouldn’t be at Spurs.

This is tedious. The club and Ange had a mutually beneficial relationship. We gave him his first move to a big European club and he gave us 2 seasons of swashbuckling football that we fell in love with. The contract situation was also mutually beneficial. I don't blame Celtic for only offering a 12 month rolling contract because he was a big risk but when he's came in and done really well we can't be annoyed that he's now using it for his own benefit.

I’ve got to disagree UI

You’re underestimating the job Ange done for Celtic.
The whole club was in disarray from the Celtic board, playing/ coaching staff and our supporters.

But Ange made the protests stop before they really got going.
He pulled everyone in the same direction and gave us a successful club back:

There’s No Way Celtic would’ve won 5 out of 6 trophies with another manager because Ange was unbelievable at recruiting our whole squad.

To say Celtic owe Ange nothing is very wrong and disrespectful.

If good managers/ players come into our club give 100% And move on to a bigger league They are doing something right Celtic is doing something right in employing them and making good money out off it also we should be happy maybe a little sad but happy that we are doing the right thing and the club is progressing, Because that's the only reason they are going to a bigger league As long as we keep that going we are winning and not being a Sevco filling there fans with fantasy and pipe dreams.

Did he bail first chance? Do you think he had his pick of jobs down south?

Honestly cannot stand all this p*ssing and moaning because a guy got a new job.

Everyone keeps saying Celtic are bigger than any one man yet can't move on when one man leaves.

The same people who b*tch about loyalty are the very same ones packing James Forrest's bags.

Does loyalty only count when you want it from people who don't want to be here?

I've been in the same job longer than Ange was here, does that mean I need to live and breathe it for the rest of my life? Do I owe them because they pay me? No, I do a job and earn it, just like Ange did. He earned it by playing the type of football we played on the pitch and the trophies we collected.

Do everyone a favour and get over yourselves. The man has managed his career better than most and at the end of the day, it is HIS career, his family, his life that he has to put first, just like any one of us.

The damage was done. it was nothing to do with Kennedy. the players had chucked it.

More news about Ange now than when he was manager! Hooroo Ange it was good while it lasted. No manager or players will be so emotionally attached as us the fans from a young age. Too them it's a career. For us it's a love like no other!

i see what your saying buzz but were are miles ahead of everyone in Scotland in terms of finances mate

any half decent manager would off had us winning leagues again if wee backed him with the funds it may have not been exciting football like anges or 5 outa 6 trophies but we would have been successful still we always have been always will be.

ange failed were we were hungry for results and that was in Europe he basically made out he was here to do something in Europe and by the looks of it he was going to get heavily backed for it this season and soon as spurs came calling we weren't good enough for him anymore his project with us and doing something special in Europe meant nothing anymore.

Folks. all good arguments but my point really was- WE let ourselves get carried away again thinking our manager/ players (now jota) love our club and are here forever. We need to get real and accept Celtic use these guys as a stepping stone or building block to continue our dominance. Let's not think we will have someone in charge for years and years. They come in, do the biz, then move on. Eat, sleep, rave, win treble, repeat. As good old fatboy slim would say. Not el buff BTW.

At the end of the day he can push for bigger titles at spurs. Bigger chance at a European trophy and challenging for the trophies down south which, as much as we hate to admit it, are a bigger draw for managers. Now, let's get the nut screwed back on and support our boys that are here, whether that's kyogo, ccv or even McCarthy. Ange is a cracking manager and I wish him all the best at spurs.
