As backup to Taylor is Bernabei any better than Scales? One was £4m and the other about £200k. Defensively I'd say Scales appears the better or at least on par. Early days for the bhoy tho so hopefully he will come good.

Wasnt a big fan off scales but bernabei has been shakey to say the least. I mentioned on another thread I thought kobayashi would start ahead of starfelt on Wednesday but it wouldn't suprise if he started at left back ahead of Bernie.

Scales is better as a left sided CB rather than a Full Back in my opinion and probably not good enough for this Celtic team in either of those positions.

Bernabei and Starfelt are the two players I feel we could replace. Neither of them can pass and give it away in silly areas. Starfelt is a decent backs to the wall defender, good at heading and clearing/ tasckling so he should be in contention but Bernabei, I can't see one redeemable aspect to his game, I'd have Scales in the squad ahead of him any day.

He’s a young man in a new country and environment, give him time, wasnt that long ago majority wanted shot of taylor (me included) now he’s a starter when fit. scales was honking, not many decent players come from league of ireland in afraid.

Also remember that full back is probably the hardest position to play under Ange. Bernabei clearly has offence qualities. Our right backs are fortunate that the big American wall covers any errors on that side.

Campsie he's an utter liability, don't care how old he is or where he is from, he cost good money and he makes Taylor look world class. If he's not settled in or is one for the future he should be on loan somewhere. Having him at left back won't be helping poor Starfelts nerves.

brumbhoy, I have seen the panic in his body language since day one when he is moving forward and looking to get rid of the ball. CCV looks comfortable, he does not.
