Delighted to read the manager saying that no talks have taken place and that the plan was always to keep him for a minimum of 2 years. Great news.

Rodgers interview: "Like I say, I have been a Leicester fan since I was a boy. My Uncle Seamus bought me a Leicester kit for my 4th Bar Mitzvah. I had always hoped to play for the club but injury cut that dream short. I am fortunate that I am now in a position to do the next best thing, taking the reins of this great club. I am following in the giant footsteps of my fellow countryman Martin O'Neill and hope to emulate his huge success. Claudio made the impossible - possible, and there is no reason why I cannot take us back to the pinnacle of European football. We are a sleeping giant and the club deserves to be back at the top. Hopefully I am the man to do that for the best supporters in world football. And like I say, with Harry Maguire at centre forward and James Vardy in goals, I think the future is bright. Of course wee also have the wonderful James Maddison who is in the mould of Andres Iniesta. It is my dream job and I can't wait to get started".

He didn't mention Raheem Sterling?

Haven't posted for a long time but had to check back in to mark this day. What a joy and pleasure it is to watch such a professional side.

Some may take days and seasons like this for granted, but having come through the Brady and Macari eras this really fills me with the utmost joy. Make no mistake, this is special.

Congratulations to the team and management and I hope everyone enjoys their day.

Under Brendan Rodgers Celtic have played seventeen cup games winning all of them scoring 58 and conceding only 6 truly remarkable, and the sports writers didn’t think it merited manager of the year, how sad. oldkilly.

2.) 19 May 2018 19:51:41
Apparently every year now the manager who wins the championship automatically wins manager of the year? Another farce that is but we all know who the boss is in Scottish football our Brendan! The pair ripping out of the Sevcoites is hilarious their claims of Stevie g string is coming to get us are even better than the great warbo and his magic hat. And who can forget the bull fighting James Bond in agent Pedro? Can’t wait for the new season to start to again put the embarrassment of a club from Govan in their place once and for all? πŸ™‚πŸ€βš½οΈπŸ†πŸ†πŸ†.

Can anybody imagine a Scotland that Walter Smuth qualifies for the CL, got out of the group, won a double Treble and didn’t win it out of sight?

Fecking scandellous but it shows you how much the bigoted barstewards are hurting.

If Watty had achieved that, everyone of those pricks whose hatred of us prevented them voting for Rogers, would have been calling for the Cardigan being knighted.

Let’s increase that pain as a way to say, GIRFUY all.

We have all complimented the playing squad for the result last night, and rightly so. What I would like to say is that in Brendan Rodgers we have the best manager I remember the Club having since I attended my first game in the early 80s. The guy oozes confidence and belief in his own ability and philosophy. No matter how big the obstacles have been he has found an answer time and again. I don't think many of us expected that scoreline. A massive well done to BR and his backroom team.

Not since big Jocks days have I felt so confident that the team/ club was in the best hands possible.
Players who were there before have learned and improved and add to that the new arrivals and you can see BR has taken us to a new level - and is still demands improvement.
His interviews and analysis are concise and informative and the man just oozes class and confidence which clearly rubs off on the staff, players and fans.
It really is quite a time to be a Celtic supporter.

Hi folks,

Watched the game tonight, well done.

Think of the potential of this young team. Imagine Moussa and the others fit. Armstrong likely to sign a new deal to be followed by wee Paddy (please! ) Think of the depth we have. If the boss can add one more real quality player we can challenge for the last 16. And we're only going to get better.

What a deadly first half. They could have had one, we could have had two more, but 2-0 is more than I hoped for. If we can keep it tight at the back and get another one to go over there with a 3 goal lead I will be delighted. I just want to say I think Ntcham is a tidy player. His first touch is dynamite and his passing is immaculate. Also, great first half from Bitton. He has looked very assured. Keep it up big man.

One of the men of the match for me. He was outstanding. So assured as was the whole team.

Looking hopeful that he is about to sign on the dotted line. If this has been sorted before tonight's game I expect SA to play a blinder now his future has been sorted.

I have to say, although I appreciate it isn't official just yet, I am absolutely delighted. I honestly think he is going to be top drawer. I think he could be one of the best midfielders we have had for a long time.

Jesus I hope this is true. Now to get Stuart Armstrong to sign a deal. If it is 2 years so be it. I would be absolutely delighted if we could get those two sorted. It would be the kickstart we need to get a bit of last season's momentum back.

Are the rumours about Ings a load of nonsense? Should forget about him and try and get Solanke on loan from them instead. Never even got off the bench for them at the weekend.

Just reading the article Ed posted about him on the Banter page. If this is true I wish him well. He is a talented footballer and could end up an inspired signing.

Hayes was also on a yellow card. Maybe it just crossed NL's mind that another 'honest mistake' might have been made to even things up! just a thought.

Agree totally with you mate. Day 3 of the window! I would hate to be in the trenches with some of them. Their starting 11 will be like a Legends team. Roger Milla is probably sitting on Skype in a Cameroon internet cafe waiting on Gerrard phoning .

Minto

Ralston in 18 years old, and Ajer 19. Give the kids a fecking break!

We gurn about youngsters not getting a chance and then slaughter them when they do. We won the tie, qualified and that experience will be invaluable to their development. The manager believes in their ability and has shown a great deal of faith pitching them into recent games. That may have been a bit of necessity, but I certainly don't think he done it out of sentiment.

Don't think anyone speaks Pedro's language Tim. He makes about as much sense as Stevie Wonder's sunglasses.
