Ed001 new to page, have tuned in for years but, how do u feel about Rodgers as a manager?

Div85

{Ed001's Note - personally I think Rodgers is far too arrogant and full of himself to make a good manager. But my judgement is based on how he acted as a Liverpool manager, and he may well have learnt his lesson due to his abject failure there and subsequent struggle to get the jobs he wanted afterwards, such as the Valencia gig. At Liverpool, he never watched the youth teams, when he had the chance he would buy lots of average players to fill gaps in the squad, rather than give youth players the chance. Strange because he had done well when forced to give younger players a chance. He is lazy, he does the job half-arsed, when football management is all-consuming if you are doing it right. Rodgers was not scouting opponents or future signings, he was not watching youth teams, he was busy enjoying having sessions on the sunbed and makeover sessions with his bit of fluff. That for me is unforgivable. I can forgive him for not being able to get the best out of players etc, but I can't forgive him for not putting 100% in. By the way, his tactical knowledge is extremely poor. Craig Bellamy worked at the club for a while, when he was getting his coaching badges, under Rodgers. Liverpool lost two Europa League ties with Basel (I think it was) because Rodgers and his staff were unable to figure out their tactics over 180min!}

Spot on Ed.
He is only a big name because he was manager at Liverpool (where, when it gets down to it, he did nothing) .
When he signed for Liverpool I felt he started to believe his own press and I have spoken with several friends down south who basically said what you have in that he was not a coach but saw himself delegating everything, including failure.
Like you, I hope he has matured and realises that success only comes with hard-work and commitment.
Of course, we will be considered as a stepping stone back to the big time. that's a fact of life based on our league so let's hope its a win/ win scenario. Hail Hail.

{Ed001's Note - he very much did start to believe his own press and his bit of fluff, sadly. He considered Liverpool a stepping stone, despite the crap he spouted about it, to a job in Spain with Barca or Real Madrid. Never going to happen as he was never going to be good enough for those.}

In the short time he was in charge at Liverpool
is BR record better than JK in respect of league
position.

{Ed001's Note - yes, because Klopp took over the mess Bodgers left behind. Stats like that are used only by people with little understanding of context. They are pointless and stupid, as well as meaningless. Bodgers spent hundreds of millions and turned Liverpool from a team challenging at the top, to a team in free fall. Klopp came in, spent nothing, arrested the slide, and lifted the whole club and the fans.}

I like JK but his record so far regardless of
What he inherited from BR is failure no trophies
And no European football next season.

{Ed001's Note - and how many trophies did the bodger win?}

Same amount as JK zero, but maybe if given
control over signings he might have delivered
some silverware.

{Ed001's Note - Klopp has won a couple of Bundesliga's and German Cup. Bodgers has won nothing, despite having control over the signings as he himself confirmed many times. So you are just clueless and grasping at straws.}
