Interested to hear some opinions here. So assuming the Armstrong sale funded the transfer for big Eddy - if we were to try and keep one of these loan signings, who would folks be willing to let go to help fund it. I know it may take even more than two main players to fund Benkovic for example but assuming it’s one in, one out, which player that could potentially command a big transfer fee would you be willing to sacrifice? For me it’s Rogic.

We wouldn't get big money for Rogic. Flatters to deceive, and can't last past 60 mins. Not sure I'd want to sell any, but you would be looking at Forrest or MacGregor. think I'd rather keep those. Not sure either of the loan signings see their future at Celtic. Would take both, but can't see it. Another years loan for Weah would be an excellent outcome imo.

I’d be happy to keep our main players and let go of most if not all the guys who have been brought in and for whatever the reason just haven’t cut it with us, getting a right goodbye few out plus freeing up they’re wages, that’s how id like to see it done.

Like the looks of both Burke and Weah. Personally I think Burke would jump at the chance to play for us permanently getting some game time under his belt and winning trophies. Weah, I think at best we can hope is to extend his loan. Reading what’s been written of this young man id be amazed if we could sign him permanently unless it’s a deal say where we buy him with PSG getting first dibs at him on a set fee or something like that.

Mcgregor is a massive no no for me leave Callum be wee need him more than anybody realises.

Rogic is a genius with a ball at his feet but, like Sinclair, doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. I’m in no hurry to get rid of anyone, including those who seldom play. I’m in no hurry to bring players in either as we’re doing very well with the ones we’ve got. We will have to look at the defence fairly soon but it’s not that urgent. A couple of new faces per window is fine I think, as it keeps the stability of the squad whilst freshening things up a little.

Rogic doesn't get the recognition he deserves?
He gets more than he deserves in my eyes.
He scores the odd big goal and some fans think he's the second coming.
Flatters to deceive, doesn't score enough goal ( lucky to get in double figures) , can't finish games, can't stay fit and doesn't create enough goals when his position in meant to be one of the most creative on the park.
Last half hour impact player for me.

But he'd be in your team kev a work with sevconians that are rubbish scared of big rogic.

{Ed007's Note - Rogic would be on the bench for me every week to bring on against tired worn out defences. He's slow and lethargic and simply doesn't work hard enough and is the main reason for the lack of spark in the AM department. He's nowhere near good enough or consistent enough to be the main creative point of the team.
You work with Sevconians? 🤢🤢🤢

He’s not our most prolific goal scorer but he scores more than just the odd big goal. He won’t score 20 a season but then again, who else does from the midfield other than Sinky? Also agree, he’s not a 90 minutes man but he gives you a good 60 or so. I wouldn’t have him coming off the bench, I’d start him and replace him on 60-70 minutes. It might be interesting to see how he interacts with the new guys.

{Ed007's Note - So you can rely on Rogic - as our main attacking playmaker and creator to give a good 60/70 mins performance EVERY week - the same Rogic that signed for us 7 years ago and has scored 34 goals in those 7 years!!! 34 goals? and that's acceptable playing for Celtic in the SPL? A couple of wonder goals at Ibrox or in a Cup Final will make you a hero bit it doesn't make you a good player.
I'd take McGregor or Christie playing as the ACM before Rogic and if we do sign Nick Powell then Rogic will rightly find himself on the bench at best.}

Funny you should say that about McGregor as he’s scored 34 as well. I actually think Calmac will develop into the role that Brown has been carrying out but possibly with a bit more flair. It’s difficult to compare Rogic with Christie as he only started to make an impact this season. I’m not necessarily saying Rogic will be THE main AM but I think he’ll be one of them and he’ll have a significant role to play over the next couple of years.

Always find it funny that Rogic can play 6 good games a season and as Ed mentioned has scored 34 goals in 7 yrs but some fans think he is done kind of hero, where as Wee Scott Sinclair can score something like 57 goals in less that 3 seasons, runs his heart out every game and never hides but is critisized constantly and has been called a coward.

I'd sell Gamboa to keep Benkovic, biton to keep weah and possibly Brown to keep Burke. Be vexed about Brown as would like to see him here for 10!

I like your thinking Ramsey but unfortunately, I think we’d probably need to sell Gambia, Briton and Brown just to fund the purchase of Benkovic.

Ive said numerous times before Rogic doesn't produce enough for a player in that 10 role at Celtic. Should be scoring and assiting double figures every season. Christie does more playing there. Rogic on his game is lovely to watch though like a Rolls Royce. Doesn't have the tank for 90 I don't know if that's because of his long injury he had or if BR needs to put him on a different fitness plan. McGregor has played in different positions though. LB, LW, RW, CM, CAM, CDM probably missed one out so you can't compare his scoring stats to Rogic's. I liked Eds opinion in the summer sell Boyata and put money towards getting Benkovic. If only we tried that one!

Rogic is a quality player, i'd rather have him in the team/ squad, his running style doesn't do him any favours, but his close control of the ball in tight situations makes him a bit of quality for me.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Rogic is missing pace I think ED. Are we front runners for Powell?

{Ed007's Note - We have held talks with Powell's agent and the feeling is that the chance to win trophies and play in Europe could swing it in our favour over the lower Pub League teams wages, relegation battles and possible relegation meaning the player would be looking for yet another move.}

Bravetart does the fact mcgregor has played so many positions not make his tally more impressive? Does for me.

As much as I mentioned Rogic in my original post, my point is that we’ve got a current squad where there’s very few players that I’d want to see leave. Obviously there’s a lot of deadwood, but there’s about 16players (although I’m including loans here) that i’d hate to lose.

On Rogic though, I’d be interested to hear how many of those goals he’s scored, were in games where he came on as a sub. I agree he’s not a 90mins player, but I actually think he’s more effective when he comes on late in the game. Good player, some great goals, but for me he’s a luxury player that I’d be willing to cash in on (again if it was a one in, one out transfer system) .

Tongue in cheek COYBIG, I'd love to keep the three loan signings, but can't see who we'd sell to keep other than bit part players and dead wood. Which in turn wouldn't give us the funds required.

Out of main first team players I'd probably sell Rogic, he's class but consistency/ injuries let him done abit.
Age wise would it be worth selling Sinclair? He's scoring for fun just now but three weeks ago most wouldn't of had him in the team.

Yes sorry that was my point. Calmac gets thrown in all sorts of positions and produces the goods. Chips in with his fair share of goals. Rogic just needs to put his laces through some instead of always going for the Hollywood in the top bin all the time. Great when it comes off mind you. Needs to know when to release the ball as he far too often loses it trying to pirouette his way past 5 players.
