Delighted to see Moyes wasn't on the end of gubbing. Manchester United might not be my fave team but not a Bayern fan at all.

Wellbeck, Tony Watt wouldn't have missed that 1st half chance!

With every game, I dislike that Neymar more and more. I fully expect an Oscar nomination for him.

Got the makings of a good wee player - never a legend but all that falling over and diving just ruins a decent game.

I can't believe that the SFA have issued Griffiths with a Notice of Complaint after being caught singing about Hearts going into administration.

Now I never wanted us to sign him but this is a pathetic attempt from the authorities at having a pop at our club.

What do you reckon about this ED007?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Everyone knows how I feel about Griffiths but this is a load of garbage imo, but if I'm honest I am not at all surprised.}

Ed 7, see my last post about Leigh, like I said he will score goals for fun with us and baggage could be a problem, but, what the hell, he was just having a beer with his mates and he was'nt wearing a tie ffs . warming to him. He is a MSM dream.

Leigh will know that this is his last chance saloon. let's see how it all pans out.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Better players than Griffiths haven't been able to handle living in the goldfish bowl. He needs to quickly realise that by playing for CFC anything he does, and I mean ANYTHING, is going to be magnified and brought to public attention by the media.}

And to top it all off it's now came out that the club have apologised to Hearts and fined Griffiths!

So it looks like another shambles has been created by our esteemed board.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Again - I am not remotely surprised. Whatever made you think the board would stick up for the club or any of it's employees against the SFA, you silly bhoy? Remember there are corporate sponsors to consider, to the board they are the most important people, apart from Peter Lawwell of course.}

I've nothing against the lad at all, but previous form from SMSM SFA etc was always going to dictate what was going to happen .
Also it seems no action is to be taken regarding NLs last trip to Tynecastle, which happened within a members premises, double standards or what?.

Agree0 Disagree0

So Celtic knows what it's feels like when your Club is going bust.

Still shows how out of proportion these things get and hopefully Leigh's learned his lesson on how the media portray anything to do with the biggest Club in Scotland.

I honestly didn't know anything about all this (spent my weekend courtesy of the NHS due to findings at a 9am Saturday morning eye test so make sure nobody neglects their eyes and attends for regular check ups). I did ask my oldest Son yesterday and his reply was 'it was funny but an epic fail cause Hibs got hammered off them again' - true!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I hope everything's sorted now, take care.}

Hope all is well with you Mrs E .

Agree0 Disagree0

Here's the rule they're hitting him with:

Disciplinary Rule 86: A recognised football body, club, official, Team Official, other member of Team Staff, player, match official or other person under the jurisdiction of the Scottish FA shall, at all times, act in the best interests of Association Football . Furthermore such person or body shall not act in any manner which is improper or use any one, or a combination of, violent conduct, serious foul play, threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting words or behaviour.

Agree0 Disagree0

But you can bet against the team you play for?

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you Ed and TTTS, all is well now that the big scarey stuff is ruled out. Just a follow up appointment at the head doc over at the Southern General.

My post should begin with the word *suppose

I'm not sure how these 'notice of complaints' work, does someone actually have to complain or does the SFA compliance guy just keep an eye out for misbehaviour?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I would think someone would at least have to bring it to Vincent Lunny's attention.}

Do you think it was Hearts themselves that complained, just the way Celtic's statement is worded and saying they are going to defend the player? -

'THE SFA today served a notice of complaint on Leigh Griffiths, alleging a breach of disciplinary rule 86 - not acting in the best interests of Association Football by singing in public about Heart of Midlothian FC in administration.

Following the incident, the player publicly apologised for his actions. Celtic have fined the player and the Club has also apologised to Hearts, an apology which they have accepted.

Therefore, the Club feels there is no need for any further action, and this is something which we will defend'

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I hadn't thought of that when I read it but now you mention it why would the club be in contact with Hearts over it? Unless the club have had an 'inkling' that the SFA would get involved and decided if they got in and dealt with it first the SFA would back off.}

Lawell is really starting to grind ma gears. No need to fine griffiths or apologise. End of day, he never said anything sectarian, racist or insulting to anyone. Next it will be "you can't slag your rival team and sing songs about beating them 7-1" there is absolutely no reasonable grounds to punish him and if I was griffiths I would be seeking legal advice.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully after tomorrow, we won't hear about it again until the actual date of the hearing (of whatever they call it).

I can maybe see why the Club have stepped in quickly with it being Griffiths ( if that makes sense) and before Che shouts at me for being an apologist, I just mean because its him.

To be honest, if we all are, back in 1994 - if a Rangers player (eg. Durrant or Duncan Ferguson) was singing for the whole of Scotland to see and hear 'THE CELTS ARE GOING BUST, THE CELTS ARE GOING BUST, THE CELTS ARE GOING BUST', I don't think we would have found it funny or just banter.

We would still be using it against them to this day lol

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - If I thought Griffiths was at fault in this I would be all over it to use against him, but I can't do it. If anything he is guilty of being naive, (we know he's not the brightest, but what player is i.e. Rooney) he might realise that mobile phone cameras are everywhere and although it's innocent enough there is always someone who will be offended by anything he does, simply because of who he is and who he plays for. He needs to wisen up and do it quickly.
On another note it's nice to see the BBC backing Jim Spence about Rangers dying, another example of perma-offended fools thinking they can bully the truth out of existence.}

A complete joke by Celtic, please tell me its an April fools joke. Griffiths is an adult and what he does in his spare time is his business. We would all prefer if he was a bit more savvy but have Celtic fined forrest and issued an apology for his supposed indiscretion, think not, Celtic are setting a very dangerous precedent here. What did hearts do about the fan that attacked Lennon, did they pay his fine and serve his jail sentence, oh wait he got none. What griffiths does in his own time is his own business and the consequences of such actions may be far reaching for his career but they are not reflective of Celtic fc

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he was naive and that's why the Club have acted the way they did. They have said they will defend him but seem to be trying to nip things in the bud with him. Hopefully lesson learned. A storm in a tea cup - as usual

DN there is no way he'll seek legal advice or speak out, have you seen how delighted he is to be here? He will be over the moon to see the backing of the fans with this. I know there's a board backlash with some of the fans but I just can't get into it. Folk like Peter Lawwell are never going to be my kinda folk. I couldn't go and sit with him or anything and if he left, I wouldn't lose any sleep.

Everytime anyone mentions Rangers dying Ed, it's just going to be complaints, very boring. They did go into liquidation, jeezo deal with it and move on.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I have said it before, they doth protest too much. All their Pacific Shelf nonsense etc we just laugh it off and move on, they can't do that for some reason.}

It took them 20yrs to come up with the Pacific Shelf patter lol

They do protest too much! The best thing they could do is ignore all the 'jibes' and get on with sorting out their finances etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Emotionally it is the same club to them and I can understand that. Every other argument, legally, football statutes etc says otherwise. They know the truth and just can't bring themselves to admit it.
What other football club has ever lost players for free through canelled contracts when they have changed owners, or have bought a club's history but not the players contracts when someone 'takes over' the club? I blame the schools.}

thinking about next season - what does the team need? proven goalscorer? centre-back? creative midfielder? competition for left back? looking at it on paper (and assuming van dijk and forster stay another season) I think the squad's looking pretty healthy.

GK - forster, zaluska,?

DR - lustig, matthews, fisher

DL - izzy,?

DC - van dijk, ambrose, mulgrew,?

MID - brown, biton, johanssen, boerrigter, commons, henderson, forrest, rogic,?

ST - stokes, griffiths, pukki, atajic, watt, fridjonssen,?

id sell kayal and balde. beram has lost his way a bit at celtic over the last few years. injury has been unkind but I think his confidence is shot. played well when he first came but would bite your hand off for £1.5/2 mill now. big amido just ain't celtic class - sorry but it's true. he can't hold the ball up for toffee. get him punted or out on loan at worst. sami (cheers sami, some good memories-but the shampoo advert made you look like a breast with a nipple) and moyokulo (sorry mate, nice guy, injury prone) would be for the off too.

now I reckon that with that squad and only 2 additions (a top class CB, and a proven international goalscorer) we would have a potentially great squad capable of doing the business in domestically and giving europe a right good go.

here's ma thinking.

we've got 2 great right backs and 1 good prospect coming through. two of these boys (matthews and fisher) have played left back and done pretty well, indeed matthews excelled in that position when we played barca at parkhead. mulgrew is also a more than comfortable full back. do we reall need cover for izzy? centre back is a tricky one. ambrose has done great this season, but i'd love to see van dijk form a partnership with an established top-class international CB. can you imagine how good virgil could become playing under the guidance of someone like that? scary! in my opinion mulgrews best position is CB, lustig looks comfortable there too, and the young lads o'connoll and fraser bubbling away nicely, I reckon that's the defence sorted.

on to midfield.

to be honest, I think our midfield looks good as it is. brown, johanssen, biton, forrest, boerrigter, commons, henderson, mulgrew, matthews, rogic (he could have a blinder at the world cup!) are all competing for 4 (maybe 5) spots in the team. I think that's some great quality in there. i'm especially excited about biton and johanssen. biton looks to have a bit of the yaya toure about him and johanssen reminds me of a young kim kallstrom (who was a great player in his mid-twenties). young henderson looks a right good prospect too (mcstayesque anyone?). brown seems to be getting more influential every season, commons is on fire, forrest is due us a good season, boerrigter needs a chance (and to stop being such a big jessie), rogic could be involved, matthews and mulgrew can do a decent shift in the middle of the park too. case for the midfield - closed!

lastly, up front. stokes, griffiths, watt (hopefully) and pukki (needs a good run of games for the rest of the season) should score goals by the bucketload in the SPFL, there's no doubt about that. BUT we NEED a striker for europe. spend £6-7 million, break the wage structure, whatever it takes - we need this player! i'd like to see josip drmic from nurnberg. possibly bendtner (i now he's a wally but i've always rated him).

anyhoo, that's me done. didn't realise i'd written so much. no more jazz fags for me tonight!

hail hail

Great post mate. And I can't say I disagree with much of it. I'm hoping the youngsters get more game time for the rest of the season. Mulgrew worries me. He was great last year when he played in defense but for me he's not a midfielder. So I don't see him having a future with us if we don't play him at Cb (I don't think we will). As for Forrest, i'm not a fan. He has the odd good game and chips in with the odd goal but he's been in the first team for a few years now and should really be better than he is. I would love us yo buy a good winger in addition to the signings you've already mentioned.
I just hope the board do give us some real quality in the next transfer windows.
Also, as much as I like Lennon, it wouldn't break my heart if he moved on.

Agree0 Disagree0

Adding to your midfield you calum mcgregor has had a blinder at notts county!

Agree0 Disagree0

So, who would you buy to cover the players positions?

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree about McGregor, from what he has shown so far he could be commons long term succeser. Really want to see him play next season, Celtic better not sell him. I want to see some of these excellent young Scots get more game time next season
