Apart from the new guys younger guys like Murray who we can't judge as not seen enough of . I don't think there is anybody I could say with great gusto that I think are irreplaceable or would be really gutted to see leaving. we have a few that are decent/ good and could be better in a better quality team . Calmac . turnbull . Forrest when fit (but fast approaching tail end of career) julie . christie (but not enough ) apart from that it's a team of OK spl level players we have . am I being too harsh? what do you think?

Not harsh at all. Its reality. I said 2 months ago every player could be sold. Only one I wouldn’t want to leave is Turnbull but he needs some serious help beside him. We badly need a "captain" in CDM, taking the easy route and giving it to calmac may prove not the best idea. Buying a player of proper captain material was priority for me. And yes that captain could have been a goalie. If Gordon was still there I would have given it to him instead of calmac.

No, we are paying over the odds for a depleted squad, the idea that soro is a replacement for brown or any of the raft of sub standard full backs we have brought in for Tierney and lustig reveals our senior leaderships mentality.

DRB 100% fair.

We're a selling club and have a 'model' in place where we identify, develop and sell on players for a profit. Profit that should be reinvested in the playing squad.

Where this has broken down is when we've replaced those players with cheap imitations.

Forster, VVD, Wanyama, Dembele, KT and most recently Ajer. That's approx 90M in sales for those 6 alone and look at those who came in to replace them and now look at what we have playing at GK, CB, MF, LB and upfront.

But for me, the board have gone down the cheap route again, new manager with no backroom staff, no D. O. F. no head of recruitment?

Like all of you I love Celtic, I was brought up supporting Celtic and even had a relative (distant) who played for Celtic.

Like you I hope and pray that Ange will be a success but in reality we shouldn't have to hope OR pray.

Will this gamble pay off, time will tell.

Spot on Pedro. I think Ange will come good with the right players and backroom staff in place. It's going to be a learning curve with his philosophy in Europe as it's a much better standard than he's used too. I think the high line defensively has it's pros and cons and he may need to refine it against the bigger teams we come up against. As for the downsizing reading it back and taking it into perspective it does hit home a little.
