I'd rather celtic beat dundee 1-0 in the worse game you've ever seen than see Scotland winning a trophy never mind the champions league.

Celtic for sure. Internationals should only be players from the country they were born in. its not like that now.

{Ed007's Note - Now? What about Richard Gough, Shaun Maloney and the Oldham born, cricket playing Flying Pig?

Of course but it’s got ridiculous Aidan McGeady is Scottish. I didn’t want to mention Gough cos he was always injured in the smaller Scotland games and fit for Rangers on the Saturday. He just liked playing in the big affairs and some lesser player had to take his place and then get the boot when he decided he was fit. Andy Roxburgh called him out then embarrassingly backed down. He should have stuck to his guns. He started calling him Richard this and Richard that and Gough looked at him with contempt. It was cringeworthy.

Many of us older Celtic fans remember how difficult bit has been for Celtic players to get picked to play for Scotland . The number of caps our Lisbon Lions got between the whole team, was ridiculously low . Far inferior Rangers players were picked ahead of Celtic players game after game . Of course in the 60’s and 70’s the SFA Board didn’t trust their Manager to pick team and they had a selection panel to pick the team . So effective were they at their job Kenny D’s international career was paused so that he would beat a Rangers player record of consecutive starts without missing a game . It was only wise and sensible for A Mc Geady family or advisors to opt for Ireland as he had an opportunity of playing. for them. and was sure to be picked to play on merit.
