The Boss Brendan stated that Celtic would do there proper business late in the transfer window as he knows how the English market works. So would everyone calm down let our manager do what he said from the start he was going to do. Honestly some celtic fans on here sound like the tribute act fans. We are Celtic and Brendan will not let us down.

1.) 12 Aug 2017 20:54:03
I didn't catch BR saying that dth, but hopefully he's right and we will do some business towards end of the market.
I do remember him saying we would be stronger by the time the qualifiers come round, which I'm unsure if we are, but suppose the injurys haven't helped with that.
I just hope we can get past Astana or it won't be looking good for anymore signings. HH.

2.) 12 Aug 2017 21:12:18
How will he not let us down mate. We are weaker full sto. We have two strikers injured two centre backs who aren't good enough for European group stages injured. Let's be honest. He left it too late, what players and where mate., the EPL prices and mArket are stupid. Push players are costing silly money. Where's Roberts, if he doesn't come, what then hated.

3.) 12 Aug 2017 21:37:57
I wouldn't say we're weaker, just unlucky with injuries. What decent striker is going to come to Parkhead knowing full well we play 1 striker upfront and when Dembele and Griffiths are fit he might end up playing third fiddle. If we rush out and sign a centre back now all that it's going to result in Is us being totally overloaded in defence when everyone's fit. I agree that our centre backs aren't off group stage quality but we may need to shift more players on before signing more. No point signing players just for the sake of it and bloating both the squad and the wage bill. On a more positive note I've been impressed with Ntcham since he's signed.

4.) 12 Aug 2017 21:38:58

That logic will make plenty of sense if we crash out of the Champions League and we don't have the proper funds available or the attraction of the CL for the players we want to sign.

Also let's deal in facts for once. after we qualified for the Champions League last season we signed 1 player. That one player was Christian Gamboa. In my eyes our third choice right back. So do you think we did well last season after the EPL teams had settled their squads?

16 Apr 2017 20:09:43
Going to be very difficult to go unbeaten with Bias Officials We can only beat 11 players in front of us but Referees have raised the bar on what can only be described as organised cheating from the very top.

1.) 17 Apr 2017 00:05:05
@dth100 - so Browns wasn't a sending off?

2.) 17 Apr 2017 08:08:59
Ffs. Aye the ref got it wrong but he didn't tell the guy to dive, plus it was a stone wall red. So if we don't go unbeaten or win the treble i'd blame Brown not the ref.

3.) 17 Apr 2017 09:41:42
Yellow would have sufficed ;)

4.) 17 Apr 2017 09:53:30
Browns wasn't a sending off no! Actually watch it back! Yes he dived in but never a red card! Yellow at most. like I've said before on here, it will take more than scotlands current buns with a whistle to stop us! Bring on next Sunday, with or without broony it doesn't matter in the slightest! That the treble is ours!

5.) 17 Apr 2017 09:57:29
no it wasn't it was it was a yellow same colour as Don Robertson gave for the tackle on Kieran Tierney against Motherwell which was worse. The ref was just waiting on that chance to award a penalty and it was not going to matter if it was for a foul or not . its the same with the cheating that joe garner done last week disgusting trying to cheat but that's normal for your lot.

6.) 17 Apr 2017 09:58:39
Am I the only one who thinks it shouldn't have been red? A definite yellow for me, referees set a standard and if that's red and Joey garners volley on the Hamilton guy ( name escapes me) is a yellow then it seems to be double standards yet again.

7.) 17 Apr 2017 11:13:02
@Augustus - no everyone from the East End including Brenda didn't think it was a red. As for the hypocrisy on here - where's your outrage when Divebele goes down too easily?

@lh86 - you just lost your own argument by saying Brown dived in so he wasn't in control.

8.) 17 Apr 2017 11:53:30
From the Halls of the SFA to the Grand Master, the cry has been anyone but Celtic and the Lanarkshire Referee Association will carry out the orders to the full.

9.) 17 Apr 2017 13:27:16
@UJ, there's going down easy and there's blatant diving. All of which I never mentioned in my original post by the way.

10.) 17 Apr 2017 13:45:59
Celtic v Hibs final for me.

11.) 17 Apr 2017 17:12:08
Selective memory union jack, Kenny Miller diving in 2 footer not a word said.

12.) 17 Apr 2017 17:14:37
So every player who dives in should be sent off? Don't talk rubbish! If that was the case joe garner would never get on the pitch! Browns was no more than a yellow, but I'm sure that won't matter when his appeal is heard! But by that time broony will have helped us into another final! And if u lot think broony is such an overrated crap player then it won't bother u if he plays! 😉😉.

13.) 17 Apr 2017 17:17:21
UJ has nothing else to do but feed his own delusion by coming on to the Champions site and spouting the level 5 drivel. He'll be off soon to begin his marching season, wearing their pyjamas onesies and still practising to play that big base drum whilst trying to walk in line full of Buckie.

How's the King doing with your new Club?

14.) 17 Apr 2017 19:58:07
It was a sending off bhoys but were playing a mediocre spl team next week if we don't win it will be on a par or worse than the Inverness result. let's remind this mob Glasgows green n white.

15.) 19 Apr 2017 16:18:11
Haw ignatius wits up wae bucky?

16 Nov 2016 15:13:55
BR states that it will be another quality player in the transfer window and trim the squad. Who would you like to see in the Hoops?

1.) 16 Nov 2016 15:42:24
Mcarthy would do for me.

2.) 16 Nov 2016 16:50:11
I also heard something about anybody not playing knows where they stand and/ or should be looking elsewhere come jan? McCarthy in and a few out the door wouldn't be too bad.

3.) 16 Nov 2016 18:19:24
If the gerrard rumours were to come true, there's no way McCarthy will be brought in as well. Just couldn't see the outlay on wages. Also I think we will have the same problem getting rid of players that we don't want as we always have. Just look at efe, we may end up paying a few of these off to get rid of them.

4.) 16 Nov 2016 18:47:31
Was Efe not the subject of a bid and BR said he could fight for his spot?

5.) 16 Nov 2016 18:58:22
Messi for me, wee guys an absolute genius. Never Saud anything about being realistic haha.

6.) 16 Nov 2016 19:59:42
I heard it's Barton.

7.) 16 Nov 2016 21:39:43
He's already at Lennoxtown most days he's still in broonies pocket.

8.) 16 Nov 2016 22:00:33
Hope your coffee machine is locked down.

9.) 16 Nov 2016 22:50:12
Youfucoffe buisedbear or are you an irn bru drinker like me? -D.

10.) 17 Nov 2016 10:49:34
I can see yaya toure coming in he is so far out of picture at city and wouldn't be surprised if stevie g came on board in player/ coach role.

11.) 17 Nov 2016 19:46:19
Haha yaya toure.

15 Nov 2016 20:35:11
The treble is on its way. BR has the Team buzzing and our captain Broonie deserves it for the past 10 years he has bled, sweated and cried for Celtic football club and is a title model for any young player.

09 Apr 2016 15:57:29
Big rumour in Glasgow Martin O'Neil and Roy keane after the Euro, s is a done deal. Dermot Desmond is bank rolling it.

1.) 09 Apr 2016 17:00:24
They were talking about that in Ireland about 6 weeks ago. The story then was Desmond and Dennis O'Brien would be paying the wages, similar to what they've did with Trappatoni and are doing just now.

2.) 09 Apr 2016 17:01:14
More chance Scott brown finding a Celtic player with 3successive passes.

3.) 10 Apr 2016 09:16:39
Aye, and Mourinho is coming in as trainee to take over after two seasons. behave lol.

4.) 10 Apr 2016 13:50:09
Great comparison TinyTim, especially considering Keane was approached fairly recently, O'Neill's already been manager, - he might fancy another full time job before he retires, who knows, I don't, and like I said, Desmond and O'Brien, who as you'll know is also a shareholder at Celtic currently pay their wages with Ireland, but yeah like you said there's more chance of Mourinho getting it. For the record - I was only saying what they've been talking about in Ireland for a while, not whether I agreed or anything else. There's been talk though that O'Neill misses day to day involvement in football and doesn't fancy another 2 years of qualifying games and friendlies and then potentially not even making the World Cup.

5.) 10 Apr 2016 13:52:59
His other 2 assistants (Guppy and Walford) have obviously also been with us.

6.) 10 Apr 2016 15:10:40
Would be great if they did it and bankrolled them but I agree not much chance of that happening with Peter Lawell around.

7.) 10 Apr 2016 15:45:35
Can't see Keane taking the assistant managers job after knocking back the managers role.

8.) 10 Apr 2016 16:32:54
He'd struggle to achieve any sort of success given how little credence a lot of Celtic fans give domestic trophies. He already got Celtic to a European cup final- so short of winning a European trophy, how could he possibly succeed?

Not that I give any real credence to such rumours but joking aside, MON coming back would be a disaster in the long term.

9.) 10 Apr 2016 19:33:29
How would it be a disaster. Pure pish talk mate. One of our most successful managers. A get your point on he took us as far as he could but I think that was as far as anyone could take us so I'd welcome home back with open arms.

10.) 10 Apr 2016 20:46:02
You seriously can't see why his (hypothetical) appointment would be a disaster in the long term? Are you forgetting the state he left us in? He's a good manager, and he was a great manager for us back when he could spent 15/ 20 million quid a year on players. Our youth suffered, and we were lumbered with huge contracts. Strachan was faced with a much more difficult job than MON, and a lot of it was tidying up his mess.

He's a short term appointment and even then, he's a throwback. But by all means, open up your arms and cover your eyes and ears.

11.) 10 Apr 2016 21:11:23
I don't think mon is the kind of manager we should be looking at, he was good first time but he had plenty to spend on top players, I think we should be looking for someone with a track record of working with young and youth players but someone with more experience than rd who looks to be well out his depth and go more down the ajax route of bringing young players through and selling them on down the line.

12.) 10 Apr 2016 21:23:27
Utter pish talk. Martin o Neill took over a club with a mental block when it came to facing rangers and winning leagues. We had won one league in ten years and finished 20 odd points behind a free spending rangers the season before. Strachan did do a good job but he took over Celtic team who had lost the league by a point and who were still a better team than rangers at the time. yes there were big contracts but we were no longer inferior and had a mentality of success which O'Neil instilled in us.

13.) 10 Apr 2016 22:16:17
Three things:

One, it's impossible to have any sort of sensible debate with someone who's primary argument (and opening statement) is "utter pish talk".

Two, we'd won a league (and two cups) across the two seasons previous. Our mental block was already on it's way out. In fact, you could argue that Wim Jansen started that.

Three, he inherited Larsson, of whom all of our success was built.

14.) 11 Apr 2016 07:50:53
I put up this rumour as its a rumour page . And also to get away from the normal moaning about the tribute act on the other side of the city as that's all the folk on here want to talk about. can't we debate with out arguing leave that to the other side Hail Hail.

15.) 11 Apr 2016 09:24:14
For me both would be wrong choice.
Oneill had his time and was EXACTLY what we needed at the time.
He inherited a lot of good players and spent a good bit bringing in a few more.
I don't like bringing back old players or managers but if that was road we were going down I'd bring Strachan back before oneill

16.) 11 Apr 2016 14:58:46
I don't think it would be a total non-starter. MON's stock has fallen over the past few years since he left Villa so he surely wouldn't command the same funds as before. I can't see it happening all the same, but it's probably possible if the intent to invest was there.

17.) 11 Apr 2016 19:22:45

Saint Martin left strachan a hell of a mess. The majority of the squad were out of contract and the ones still around had zero sell on value or weren't worth the contract they were on.

18.) 13 Apr 2016 16:24:01
Would be hard for MON to replicate the same success on the budget we offer now he'd be better going to Rangers with the "warchest" that's being promised there.

16 Aug 2017 17:13:59
is it beyond us to put this tie to bed tonight. I think we can go out and really put on a display 3 or 4 goals if we get a early goal . Also with the GB back tonight the place will be rocking.

1.) 16 Aug 2017 17:50:40
I think it will be tight. We are weeker now than last season. Roberts gone, Dembele out, Boyata out, Sinclair has failed to impress this season, Griffiths 75% fit, Bitton at Centre back? This is going to be close. If we can get Padfy back for second leg (dont know if we can play him then? ) and Griff is 100% we may sneak through over 2clegs but tonight is critical. We need some kind of a win and a clean sheet. I would bite your hand off for 2-0.

2.) 17 Aug 2017 07:31:03
Well Brendan answered my question and well and truly put the game to bed. This is how it feels to be Celtic.

27 Jul 2017 06:19:49
Get out of jail card has been used That mob could have been 3 up before we had a shot on target absolute rubbish Brendan sort it and quick.

1.) 27 Jul 2017 08:08:02
This is only half time, come out roaring in the second half, put Rogic in his proper position and play a striker as a striker,

2.) 27 Jul 2017 08:29:49
Even playing the young bhoy JA as the focal point from which we can play from but am sure BR will be thinking we need a long term replacement in up top and CH fingers xd he does and we get them in.

3.) 27 Jul 2017 08:32:49
Totally appalling performance. And nobody was more appalling than Forrest once again.

4.) 27 Jul 2017 08:56:44
Rogic certainly beeds to be in his natural position, facing the opponents goal with the ball at his feet. Aitchison hasn't been selected so far under BR so would be surprised to see him get the nod.

5.) 27 Jul 2017 09:10:38
We can't buy someone surely the staff would be known about this injury to MD prior and thought we need someone in I know they don't rate ciftci but surely with him on the books they would've registered him for CL just in case this came up especially not bringing anyone in. I noticed JH in the striker section of the CL squad he is no striker thoughts please?

6.) 27 Jul 2017 09:24:47
dunno why he didn't start with sinclair up front and hayes on the left. from what i heard it was 433?. never been as fluid with that as 4231 which couldve been done last night. Shouldve planned for this last week, cifti isn't in his plans fair enough but he is a natural striker.

7.) 27 Jul 2017 09:31:22
Magic p. worse than Sinclair who contributed nothing to the game at all same as Armstrong rogic and apart from 5-10 mins ntcham . mgregor was missed last night. and the only reason I can see for ntcham playing ahead of him is he cost 3.5mill or he was in a big epl reserve team . jim Tim did rogic have a role drastically different than normal . for me it showed up his big weakness. His mobility and lack of pace . if we go through which isn't as big an ask as last night suggests I'd tell Armstrong sign or find a new club. and buy a playmaker who is better than him or one who can push rogic for his position as that's where we are lacking . we know moussa is going at some point so we need to get at least one more striker . positive young ajer looks as if he could develop nicely as a centre back.

8.) 27 Jul 2017 09:54:29
McGregor played as a striker and scored a lot of goals when he was on loan down sarf, didn't he?

9.) 27 Jul 2017 09:56:11
The difference is Sinclair delivers, Forrest never does. He us always a disappointment. His final baw, his woeful shooting. Sinclair was terrible too, but that's a one off type of thing, Forrest has been the guy with no final baw since he was 17.

Forrest can beat a player, beat another one the feck it up. His job is to deliver.

If you ordered home delivery from Asda and the guy exited the yard perfectly, weaving in and out of parked vans. Drive all the way towards you, pulling off a three point turn on a sixpence when faced with a fallen tree, then dropped your messages off two streets away, would you be ok with that and praise the nippy driving up until then?

That's Forrest.

10.) 27 Jul 2017 10:04:00
If MD is going, we need two strikers. Last night was completely toothless. Aitchison should have played, realise it's not panic stations yet but we should have been able to dispatch that lot last night.

11.) 27 Jul 2017 10:26:21
ring ring, ring ring.

hello pep its Brendan

okay how much for Roberts.

cheques in the post, cars at his house.

Any other defenders or strikers need blooded?

bye bye.

12.) 27 Jul 2017 11:12:26
I know what your saying and i wouldn't be bothered if he left magic p . but it seems like he has become the scapegoat when imo not deserved . didn't forrest have only one or two assists behind Sinclair and Roberts last year? . (didn't think Sinclair shone in europe last season as well) . aindoh . didn't he play a rogic type position with them . i think it was 13 goals?

13.) 27 Jul 2017 11:19:30
DRB, I'd say Rogic's role was different, yeah. He's clearly much more able to have an affect on the game from a slightly deeper position, with options ahead of him. Once Sinclair moved central and Rogic deeper, he was at least able to start getting shots away. They were poor shots aye, but had he been able to do that over 90 mins he could well have scored, or played some nice through balls for Sinclair, who, does have the power to keep running in behind. All it highlighted was Rogic's lack of power and of course, he can't play as a striker. Nothing against the lad, he's just not a striker. He's much better suited orchestrating things from a deeper position and hopefully a lesson learned.

14.) 27 Jul 2017 14:21:21
hes conned more managers than anyone in the game, i don't think i've ever seen him beat a man yet or even hit the byeline in and get a cross in, he makes owen archdeacon look like messi.

15.) 28 Jul 2017 16:26:03
forrest i was talking about.

20 Jul 2017 05:49:51
Steven Caulker would be a great addition to a squad bursting now with quality. Just shows you how much BR knows the English market the players coming in are the real deal and a repeat of a treble must be a real target for this squad 🍀.

1.) 20 Jul 2017 13:49:37
Win every game too. That's possible and I don't care what anybody says. :)

18 May 2017 20:50:07
This truly is a wonderful side writing a great chapter in our glorious unbroken history Brendan Rodgers thank you 🍀.

05 May 2017 19:58:16
Great news Paddy Roberts stays at Celtic until end of season to lay on cup final it's just been confirmed 🍀.

1.) 05 May 2017 21:59:57
Yes! Absolutely fantastic news! And the way he's talking, really gives me hope he could be persuaded to stay! That would be something else as I really rate him as a player and superb prospect. Any way that we could find a bit of Scots in his DNA.?

2.) 05 May 2017 22:15:18
More chance of Irish roots wae that name.

{Ed007's Note - Patrick John Joseph Roberts is a fine name that any self respecting Tim would rightly be proud of!}

3.) 05 May 2017 22:33:27
How about maurice Patrick Joseph aloysius glen for a name. Ma eld uncle what a man.

{Ed007's Note - The Maurice part has taken on evil connotations in recent years though. :p I bet he was raging back 'then'.}

4.) 05 May 2017 23:28:36
Haven't really heard anything from Roberts that inclines me to think he views Celtic as anything other than plan B or C. He's been given every opportunity to talk nice about the club, but never avails himself of the opportunities. Its a shame, but I suppose he grew up watching EPL drivel so I expect he'll gravitate towards some middling outfit with zero prospects domestically or in europe.

5.) 06 May 2017 01:26:19
Ed a get what u mean but u won't meet anyone who's prouder of their name, believe me. When he's had a few whiskeys, just before he sings the foggy dew wae all his heart n soul, he'll pound his heart n say his name in full. Haha he's in ma top 5 people av ever met n av met a few of the lions.

{Ed007's Note - I'm pulling your leg bud, it was that or a joke about all of you being down the Glen's one Easter morn but I didn't want to upset the panty wetters.}

6.) 06 May 2017 01:39:34
Haha a know mate, a never thought any differently. Eld uncle maurie ud love him.

{Ed007's Note - (yes)

If we sign Paddy Roberts (fingers crossed) This will send out a message that Celtic are new in a position to deliver quality over quantity something we have all wanted for a while. With the addition of Paddy on a permanent deal and if Moussa stays going into the Cl qualifiers with a belief rather than the hopefulness of last season will be fantastic. No 2nd or 3rd rate Jonny foreigner for us its the real deal that we are signing now.

Well done to the sheep. Better class of player then anything Sevco have signed and will help them increase the gap between them and Sevco.
